SACRAMENTO – Downtown Sacramento is turning up the volume as Concerts in the Park returns Friday night to Cesar Chavez Plaza.
The free event is now in its 32nd season, but some changes are in store.
Organizers say gates will open at 6 p.m. and music will finish at 9:30 p.m.
Also, while previous years have been 12 weeks of music, this year it will just be nine with the season finishing at the end of June before the intense summer heat of July.
The Downtown Sacramento Partnership also says they've adjusted the lineup to include more genres with their own specific nights.
This year's headliners, and the dates they are scheduled to play, are listed below:
May 2 – Jon Wiide

May 16 – Khloe Rose
May 23 – XZIBIT
May 30 – Phantogram
June 6 – Dexter and the Moonrocks
June 13 – The Expendables
June 20 – Winona Fighter
June 27 – Jackie Greene
At a time when it feels like everything is going up in price, Concerts in the Park remains free.
Friday night's lineup will be a showcase of homegrown talent, with Sacramento artists DJ Nadz, the Labrats, Sara Beth, and singer-songwriter Jon Wiilde set to perform.

TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Music lovers can fill their Wednesdays with the sweet sounds of summer as Tioga County brings back its seasonal concert series. Tioga Arts Council announced the lineup for the 2025 Concerts in the Park series on Thursday. Now in its 37th year, the concerts are presented on Wednesday nights by local and regional musicians at Hickories Park in Owego. The concerts take place from 7 to 9 p.m., with the exception of the July 2 show, which will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 and will be followed by fireworks. Despite the show's widespread success and cultural impact, the financial compensation he received was surprisingly low. Xzibit opened up about the disconnect between public perception and reality, explaining that what appears successful from the outside does not always reflect the truth behind the scenes. He shared that the initial deal he signed was not favorable and likely mishandled by his agents at the time. They had no way of knowing how big the show would become, and the contract failed to secure better terms. Xzibit had also hoped that being on MTV would help promote his music by including his videos, but that opportunity never came to fruition. Your guide to the Tacos and Tequila Festival
The Tacos and Tequila Festival returns to Retama Park tomorrow, bringing a lineup of throwback hitmakers. Why it matters: It's not every day that you can hear your Walkman or iPod playlist in real life. Zoom in: Lil Jon, Ginuwine, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Xzibit, Trick Daddy, Murphy Lee, Yung Joc, Mike Jones and DJ Ashton Martin are scheduled to perform. The festival is 2–11pm at the racetrack in Selma, just outside Loop 1604. Tickets are currently $79 for general admission and $179 for VIP. Admission is exclusively sold online. The vibe: As the name implies, the festival features a lineup of food trucks selling tacos and other eats. The 21-and-up event will also have fully stocked bars throughout the venue with tequila and margaritas for an additional cost (VIP admission includes three margarita tickets). Guests can also experience events like lucha libre wrestling, a car show and a Chihuahua beauty pageant throughout the day. DJ Ashton Martin will kick things, with Lil Jon closing out the night. Zoom out: The festival is part of a national tour. San Antonio is sandwiched between Houston, which held the event in April, and Dallas, which will host it on May 17.
