Harvard University fired back at US Education Secretary Linda McMahon, denying her allegation that the school has a partisan political bias and warning that government 'overreach' is threatening key freedoms.
'I must refute your claim that Harvard is a partisan institution,' Alan Garber, the university's president, said Monday in a letter to McMahon. 'It is neither Republican nor Democratic. It is not an arm of any other political party or movement. Nor will it ever be.'

International nuclear, mining bills clear hurdle

The pair of bipartisan bills passed out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by voice vote. S.1801, the 'International Nuclear Energy Act,' would create an office focused on nuclear energy trade and new collaborations with other nations on nuclear energy development and licensing.
