YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Paul M. Patton II, affectionately known as Fella, departed his earthly life on Friday, February 28, 2025, at his residence in Orlando, Florida.
He was born to his parents, Mary Talley Patton and Paul M. Patton, on May 5, 1979. Paul was the baby of the family. He was definitely a 'Mama's Boy' and he didn't care who knew…neither did his mom!

He was a people person and had the gift of gab. He could talk his way into and out of anything. Paul was everyone's favorite… the life of the party. He loved to eat, especially French fries. He ate French fries with everything! If you didn't know, Fella loved Ohio State Football which is why many in attendance are sporting OSU attire to honor him. O-H!!!
Paul attended St. Patrick's School, Cardinal Mooney High School, graduating class of 1997 and Youngstown State University. He loved all sports, playing football, basketball, and running track while at Mooney.
Paul loved his family, especially being the best uncle to his nieces. He was the most loyal friend and Uncle Paulie to many of his friends' children. Paul had a unique way of making everyone feel like they were the center of his world.
Paul liked to do many things, but his favorite pastime was watching THE OHIO STATE football team. He loved the BUCKEYES. If you've ever watched a game with him, he would pace back and forth during the game if the Buckeyes weren't winning and excessively clapped when they scored. O-H!!!
Fella's journey took him from the steel town of Youngstown to the sunshine of Orlando, Florida, where he lived out his passions and created heartfelt memories. In 1998, he participated in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World, which inspired him to move to Orlando, Florida, for the past 27 years. He loved Disney! It must be stated again- Fella LOVED The Ohio State University Football Team!
Paul was a good person, son, uncle, and friend! He was the life of the party and brought so much joy to the people who came into his life! He will be missed deeply from his loved ones, family, and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; sisters, Sonia Patton (Corey) of Youngstown and Angelia Rue (Raymond) of Liberty; devoted nieces, Ashley Patton of Orlando, Florida and Chyna Davis (Michael) of Iowa City, Iowa; aunts, Patricia Patton of Bowling Green, Ohio and Theresa Talley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and his partner of many years, Nancy Massi (Jackie, JJ, Jasmine) of Orlando, Florida. He also leaves devoted friends, Cliff and Laura Shimer of Orlando, Florida. Paul had an expansive extended family in Orlando. Special friends include Abe Otero, Christopher Rivera, Todd Smith, Justin Padilla, Amy Bochert, Paul Phillips, and Olga and Ian Szabo of New Jersey.
As Paul entered eternity he was reunited with his sister, Felicia Patton Davis; nephew, Corey Andre Davis; grandmother, Cleo Talley; grandparents, Artie and Carlena Patton; uncles, DeWayne Talley, Julius Patton, Artie Patton, Leonard Patton, Ronald Patton and James Patton; aunts, Miranda Talley, Sandra Watson, Barbara Patton and Connie Patton and 'brother from another mother', Guy Montana.
The family would like to give special thanks to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services and Postell's Mortuary in Orlando, Florida, for the loving care and support we received at this time. Matt Damon box office bomb with only 47% on RT becomes Netflix smash hit

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Despite his string of hit roles in everything from Good Will Hunting and The Bourne Identity to, most recently, Oppenheimer, not everything Matt Damon stars in is as successful. However, one of his biggest bombs is finding a new life after becoming a smash hit on Netflix. Released in 2017, Downsizing wasn't well received. It has just 47% on Rotten Tomatoes and was a box office bomb after its $55 million earnings failed to match its budget. However,in the UK, it was added to Netflix on Thursday, May 22, and it's been steadily climbing Netflix's rankings and gaining viewers. At the time of writing two weeks later, it's the streamer's most-watched movie. Living in the US? Downsizing is free via Hoopla and Kanopy but is only available to buy or rent digitally beyond those options. Downsizing is part romance, part comedy and part sci-fi story. It's set in a world in which humans invent 'downsizing', a process by which people are irreversibly shrunk to about five inches, which makes them more space efficient thereby solving overpopulation and the climate crisis. Damon plays Paul, who decides to go through the process with his wife Aubrey (Kristin Wiig)... until she pulls out at the last minute and leaves him. Stuck in his small form, and seeing his life fall apart, Paul goes on a voyage through the small 'Leisureland' in order to find himself and redefine his life. Critics of 2017 criticized Downsizing for being a bit muddled in its focus, though it's worth pointing out that certain reviewers really loved it. As someone who watched the movie in cinemas back then, it's safe to say that the movie was mis-marketed in a way that hurt it: posters and adverts made it look like a standard American comedy, but it's anything but. In a way, Downsizing is an exploration of the climate crisis and humanity's longevity, dealing with themes of class struggles and impending extinction events. It can get dark and melancholy at times, which isn't what audiences would really expect from a Matt Damon rom-com. That's likely why Downsizing was received so poorly eight years ago. It's not a bad film, but if you're expecting a lighthearted comedy, you're going to be disappointed. The movie was directed by Alexander Payne, also known for The Descendants and The Holdovers, and if you've seen those fantastic movies, you'll have your expectations better aligned for Downsizing. Downsizing climbing up Netflix's rankings makes sense: people have probably forgotten any expectations created by marketing 8 years ago, the streamer's thumbnails make it seem more of a sci-fi story than a comedy, and its genre tags are "cerebral" and "imaginative" which better fits the movie. The movie isn't actually the only pre-Covid Hollywood flop on the top-10 movies list and if you want something more action-packed, the Taron Edgerton and Jamie Foxx Robin Hood from 2018 is at #4 after being added on Sunday, June 1. Rounding out the list is Netflix Original A Widow's Game at #2, Channel 4 doc Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax at #3, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning at #5, stalwart The Super Mario Bros. Movie at #6, another Netflix movie The Heart Knows at #7, The Cat in the Hat at #8, Netflix doc A Deadly American Marriage at #9 and yet another kids movie Minions at #10.

Chris Paul staring down conundrum over his NBA future: ‘Don't get that time back'

Chris Paul's next move will have everything to do with family. The 40-year-old point guard is a free agent after spending last season with the Spurs, and said his decision as to where he'll play next — or if he'll play at all — will hinge on his proximity to his wife and kids. 'It's with my family more than anything,' Paul said on the 'Pat McAfee Show' on Thursday. 'I talk to my family about it. My son just turned 16, my daughter is 12. The past six seasons, I've lived without them. I've been away from them for the last six years, so it's a little different.' Advertisement Paul's family lives in Los Angeles, but the 12-time All-Star has not played there since he was traded from the Clippers to the Rockets in 2017. Paul said his family was with him in Houston, but not for the stints that followed with the Thunder, Suns, Warriors and, most recently, San Antonio. I still love to play, I was up in the gym at 6 a.m. this morning…it's crazy. My daughter actually hoops now. Before I flew out here, I was in the gym with her for 20 minutes… It was priceless. You don't get that time back,' Paul said. 'But I want to hoop, because I love to hoop, but at the same time I do want to be Dad.' Even as he's aged past his prime, Paul has found ways to remain a key asset for winning NBA teams. Chris Paul spent the 2024-25 season with the Spurs. NBAE via Getty Images Advertisement He proved to be an impactful pick-and-roll partner – and mentor – for Victor Wembanyama this past season with the Spurs, averaging 7.4 assists per game to go along with 8.8 points a night. And even as one of the oldest players in the league, Paul was durable as can be, playing and starting in all 82 games. It's unclear whether there could be a fit for Paul on the Lakers or Clippers, if he'd be willing to sign elsewhere, or if the 'Point God' will decide now's the time to call it a career.

Through the Lens: Nikk Martin for Paul & Shark

'I didn't grow up wanting to be a photographer,'Nikk Martinbegins telling Hypebeast. 'But at some point, I realized the camera gave me permission to slow down, to look at people more closely, to connect. And I think I've been chasing that feeling ever since.' Known for his evocative photography style, the Berlin-based visual artist boasts a rich portfolio that focuses on framing intimate moments between the camera and his subjects. Garnering widespread acclaim for his images' unique color palette, highlighted by the use of analogue photography and often arduous film developing processing, which permeates his images that occupy multiple disciplines from still life, environmental landscapes, dynamic visuals, and many more. Approaching his process with a natural flair, it's all about being in the moment and paying attention to his surroundings that helps Martin capture the perfect shot, explaining, 'Some of my best moments have come from letting go, just being present and reacting to what's really happening.' For the latest installment of theThrough the Lensvideo series, Hypebeast enlists Martin to capturePaul & Shark's RivieraSpring/Summer 2025capsule collection through his distinct visual aesthetic. Officially founded in 1976 by Paolo Dini, Paul & Shark is a family-run Italian label with a rich legacy in garment craftsmanship, production and fabric sourcing. Now spearheaded by his son, CEO Andrea Dini, who represents the third generation to carry the family business, the brand draws inspiration from the infinite allure of the ocean to find synergy between aesthetics, technical innovation, and commitment to quality. Heading to Capri, a scenic Italian island off the Gulf of Naples, where the new capsule collection takes its inspiration from, it's immediately clear that Martin is truly in his creative element. 'Water has this ability to mirror emotion. It's soft, wild, still, restless, all at once,' he says as he approaches the beach looking out into the horizon. 'And that's how I want my work to feel, too.' As he returns to land, weaving through the narrow streets of the old town, capturing candid images of the public, he explains, 'Photography still feels pure to me when it's about connection. When you're not trying to create a moment, but to witness it.' And despite photography partly being about engaging with your subject and directing their movements that fit in line with the vision, the craft is mainly about possessing the eye to achieve the most visually engaging shot, which can come at any time. 'I don't really direct, I observe, I wait, and I try to create a space where something real can happen,' Martin says. 'I feel into the light, the emotion in the room, the energy of the person in front of me. It's instinctual.' Inspired by the island's atmosphere, bustling energy, and iconic architecture, the Paul & Shark SS25 capsule collection embraces the spirit of the Mediterranean summer. As well as iconic patterns, silhouettes, and garment types reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, the refined capsule comprises sweaters, a selection of button-up shirts, and quick-dry swimwear that embrace a minimalist aesthetic which pays tribute to Capri. Boasting a complete segment that spans various shades of 'Azure' to more intense blues, the range's diverse color palette draws upon the sea's vast hues. Elsewhere, summery tones of beiges and whites, fused with touches of colour, complete the capsule's makeover. While the ocean influence is evident across its offering, it is experimentation that forms the foundation of the new range, marking the brand's renewed focus on quality. This includes masterfully weaving its Typhoon membrane – an innovative technology that incorporates both wind and waterproof qualities – on a selection of delicate fabrics such as silk, linen, and cashmere, as well as bringing forth its meticulous attention to detail to each garment.
