AAP alleges fertiliser shortage in U.P. cooperative societies

Hindustan Times4 hours ago

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday raised concerns over the shortage of DAP and urea fertilisers in more than half of the cooperative societies across Uttar Pradesh. Vanshraj Dubey, the AAP's spokesperson for Uttar Pradesh, flayed the state government for its 'failure to address the issue'. He alleged that the government's inaction was a clear example of its anti-farmer stance.
'More than 50% of cooperative societies in the state are facing a severe shortage of DAP and urea fertilisers,' Dubey claimed while talking to media persons. 'The government has failed to take adequate measures to address the crisis, despite repeated complaints from farmers,' he alleged.
The party has demanded immediate review of fertiliser supply, action against responsible officials and transparent distribution of fertilisers.
Party workers' 2-day meet in Barabanki
Vinay Patel, AAP chief for Ayodhya region, on Sunday said a two-day conference of party workers of the Ayodhya region will be organised in Barabanki district from June 10. Sanjay Singh, AAP's state in charge and Rajya Sabha MP, will be the chief guest at the event.
The party has already organised similar programmes in Meerut and Firozabad in western Uttar Pradesh and in Brij province. A training camp will also be organised for party's office-bearers of Ayodhya region, including block, assembly, and district committee members from 11 districts, on June 11. The AAP aims to strengthen its organisation in Uttar Pradesh through regional conferences and training camps.

‘Look at PM's love for Punjab, despite losing poll, I was made minister': Ravneet Bittu

Urging people of Ludhiana to vote for 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Punjab, Viksit Ludhiana, Viksit West', Union Minister of State and senior BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu said Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'love for Punjab can be gauged from the fact that even as he (Bittu) lost the election from Ludhiana, he was made the Union minister'. 'The only aim of BJP-led Central government is to develop the entire nation. For Punjab, a beginning in this direction can be made from Ludhiana. Look at PM Modi's love for Punjab. Even as I lost the Lok Sabha election from Ludhiana last year, he made me a Union minister. He did so because he wanted a Punjabi in his Cabinet who can work for Punjab's development. Earlier also there were Sikh faces in his Cabinet such as Hardeep Singh Puri but he wanted someone from Punjab. I urge people of Ludhiana to vote for BJP candidate Jiwan Gupta if they want that Ludhiana should be developed,' said Bittu, addressing a press conference. 'He has not just made me a minister but given extremely important portfolio like Railways. Recently, we opened Chenab Bridge worth Rs 43,000 crore in the border state of Jammu & Kashmir. Punjab is also a border state which deserves such huge projects. The only way to get them is to have BJP in power in Punjab. Otherwise, other states have already raced ahead of us,' said Bittu. Referring to the PM's security breach incident in Punjab in 2022, Bittu targeted the then CM and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi. 'Why did Channi keep hiding in the US for one and a half year if he was so right? It is only because of his poor administration that PM Modi, who was scheduled to announce multi-crore projects for Punjab that day, returned without doing so,' said Bittu. Attacking the AAP-led Punjab government for 'widespread corruption' in the state, Bittu said: 'Recently, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation's superintendent engineer Sanjay Kanwar, who was arrested for corruption, has told vigilance in his statement that he used to give shares from the bribe amount to the incumbent MC commissioner and also his predecessors. Which corruption-free governance does Bhagwant Mann talk about?' Bittu alleged that AAP's own local MLAs from Ludhiana were not supporting the candidature of Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora from Ludhiana West. He cited Mann's recent acknowledgement that 'a Cabinet berth for Arora was not guaranteed'. 'The AAP's only objective behind fielding Arora appears to be the facilitation of Arvind Kejriwal's entry into the Rajya Sabha,' said Bittu. He said similarly, in the Congress, 'party's state president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring was not allowed entry in the West constituency and he is not campaigning for their candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu.' 'Warring goes in some other constituency, addresses workers and gets photos clicked. He is not allowed to enter the West where election is happening,' said Bittu. Bittu appealed to the electorate to cast their votes in favour of the BJP, and not to 'waste their votes on AAP and Congress'. Bittu also launched a scathing attack on CM Mann, alleging a 'profligate expenditure on a five-star hotel stay in Ludhiana during his campaign for the AAP candidate'. Meanwhile, BJP's senior leadership, including national general secretary Tarun Chugh and Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, too campaigned in Rishi Nagar. Chugh said that people should not consider this bypoll as a formality because it will help them lay foundation for the next Assembly elections in 2027. Sirsa said that people from Delhi voted out AAP and now they are sitting in Punjab to loot all the resources of this state. He said people in Punjab should give a befitting reply to the ruling party and send them from here as well because only then they can save their state.

Kushwaha holds rally in Muz, disregards‘4-5 seats' media buzz as distraction

Patna: Rajya Sabha member and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president, Upendra Kushwaha , while addressing a rally in Muzaffarpur on Sunday expressed annoyance over media speculations about offer of "four-five seats" to his party under the seat-sharing formula, stating that "his politics is for change, not for posts". He said he would continue raising issues concerning the common people, no matter how many troubles come his way. His rally is being billed as a "show of strength" to bargain for more seats as the NDA gets busy with finalising the seat-sharing. Addressing the "Samvaidhanik Adhikar-Parisiman Sudhar" rally, Kushwaha said he never cared about seats since he enjoys the "people's power". "Four-five seats…Upendra Kushwaha kabhi iski chinta nahin karta hai (I never worry about it)," Kushwaha said, adding, for him issues are more important and that he would continue raising them come what may. He said if compromising with people's issues leads to a post, it is better to remain without such a post. Citing examples, Kushwaha, who served as a Union minister of state during the first term of PM Narendra Modi, said Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Jayaprakash Narayan could have got any post, but they gave first priority to the people's issues. "Main pad nahin, parivartan ke liye rajniti karta hun (My politics is for change, not for any posts)," he said, alleging that the "seat issue" was being deliberately raised to divert the people's attention from the core issues. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 관절염 발생률 99% 감소 "이것" 마시기만 했더니 '손목/허리/무릎 통증 사라져" hoguanwon Undo Strongly advocating for delimitation, he said the lack of this exercise was causing a great loss to the state. "If the delimitation process was carried out on time, the number of Lok Sabha seats in Bihar would have gone up to 60, leading to increased representation of scheduled castes and women, but this has been hanging fire," Kushwaha said, warning of launching an agitation against "gross injustice" to the state. Cannot go against court orders to demolish slums, says Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday (June 8, 2025) that the Government cannot go against court orders to demolish slums or remove encroachments. She promised the slum dwellers that there will be no unlawful demolitions. Responding to criticism from the Aam Aadmi Party over the demolition of Madrasi Camp on June 1, Ms. Gupta said the court had ordered its demolition as the Camp had encroached on the Barapullah drain causing waterlogging in the area, and hindering silt removal. Speaking at an event to launch the construction of a Jan Sewa camp at a slum cluster in Haiderpur, Ms. Gupta told the residents not to worry as they are lifeline of the city and the Delhi government would not demolish their homes. 'There were three recent demolitions. The first at Madrasi Camp was on the orders of the court. The second was at Wazirpur where a railway line was being encroached upon, and the third at Jailorwalabagh, where flats have been handed over to residents.' she said. 'If a railway line is being encroached, and there is an accident, then who will be responsible for it?' she asked. 'In Jailorwalabagh, if slum dwellers are rehabilitated and new people come and settle in the slum demanding compensation, the government will have to act.' Protest path AAP Delhi State president Saurabh Bharadwaj said the party held meetings with slum dwellers and had decided to launch a major movement against the demolitions on June 29. 'I appeal to all jhuggi residents — join this movement and raise your voice for your rights. We will gather at Jantar Mantar on June 29 and appeal to the Central government to take appropriate action on this issue,' said the AAP leader who visited the Madrasi Camp. The party criticised Mr. Gupta, saying the displaced residents of Madrasi Camp were provided homes in faraway Narela, and even those lack basic amenities. Leader of the Opposition Atishi questioned why the BJP was not staying true to its promise of 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahi Makaan' (in-situ rehabilitation). In a post in Hindi on X, Atishi said: 'Rekha ji, did the court also say that the BJP should not fulfil its promise of 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahi Makaan'? If the slums had to be demolished, then why weren't people given houses in nearby areas? 'Most people from the Madrasi Camp didn't get any housing. Those who did were given dilapidated houses 40 km away in Narela with no jobs, roads, schools or hospitals.' AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh who too visited the Madrasi Camp on Sunday, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to order an immediate halt to all demolitions in slum areas, and ensure rehabilitation to all those displaced.
