HHSAA State Softball: Kapaa & Mililani win State Titles
The HHSAA State Softball Championship games were held on Friday for Division I & Division II.
In Division II, Kapaa and Pearl City faced off for the championship.
Pearl City took a 3-0 lead after the 2nd inning. But in the 3rd, Kapaa tied it after a Jaicie Martinez 3 RBI Triple. The Warriors would then take the lead in the same inning, and never trailed again.
Kapaa wins the Division II State Championship 7-5, and are crowned the State Champs for the 2nd straight season.
Sienna Yamashita, Andie Iglesia, Martinez, and Rylie Furtado all finish with 2+ hits for Kapaa.
In Division I, it was Mililani and Maryknoll who went head to head.
The Spartans took an early lead after a hard hit down the 3rd base line by Palehua Silva brought in a run.
But in the bottom of the 2nd inning, Mililani's bats found rhythm, as they scored 4 runs which was started from a solo homerun from Hinano Bautista.
Mililani added another 5 runs in the 3rd inning that included a grand slam from Kodie Ancheta to put the Trojans ahead 9-3.
The Mililani Trojans were able to hold Maryknoll from tying the game up, and Mililani wins the Division I State Title 10-7.
Mililani and Kapaa both become back-to-back State Champions.

"Superstars at 25 don't get traded"- Draymond Green recalls getting confused between Doncic trade and Warriors landing Kevin Durant
"Superstars at 25 don't get traded"- Draymond Green recalls getting confused between Doncic trade and Warriors landing Kevin Durant originally appeared on Basketball Network. The Luka Doncic trade will certainly be a topic of discussion for years to come. A decision that shocked the entire NBA ecosystem, with the Dallas Mavericks shipping the Slovenian talent to the Los Angeles Lakers after a great seven-year association. Advertisement Such was the magnitude of the trade that transpired on February 2nd, 2025, and everyone had a story to tell. However, Draymond Green's reaction was certainly a little amusing as the four-time champion narrated his episode on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Recounting the night of the trade announcement, Draymond revealed he was at a Warriors charity poker tournament. Ten minutes before the news broke out, the 2016 DPOY recalled talking with owner Joe Lacob, who told him about almost having Kevin Durant in the Bay Area. "So we're at this tournament and I go sit down and about 15 minutes later, Steph yells, 'Draymond did you see the trade.' I go, 'It happened?' Steph goes, 'Wait, who?' and I said, 'Oh never mind, Nobody,"' revealed Draymond, who assumed Lacob had pulled off the Durant trade with the Phoenix Suns. Nonetheless, learning about Luka's trade, the defensive savant said the following. Advertisement "I couldn't believe it. Superstars at 25 don't get traded. Luka is a megastar. Just coming off the NBA Finals. You just don't see that in the NBA. I immediately wondered when I had to be next, it's coming for me soon," Dray told host Jimmy. The Warriors star was coming off a second round exit against the Timberwolves but had managed to make the 2025 NBA All-Defensive First Team. Pursuing "The Slim Reaper" Looking back to the 2024-25 trade deadline, the Warriors were keen on reuniting with Durant. During his three-year stint in the Bay Area, the 6'11" forward helped the franchise secure two championship banners, earning Finals MVP honors both times. Hence, GSW's front office was trying to work out the best deal with the Suns. But, before things could be finalized, Durant had categorically disagreed with a homecoming in the Bay. The fifteen-time All-Star was done with his fair share of scrutiny. As the deadline appeared closer, GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and management found themselves in a lurch. Ultimately, they decided to go ahead with Jimmy Butler's gamble, which turned out to be a beneficial move for the most part. With free agency not far away, there has been a lot of chatter around the Dubs making a strong push for a star player. Since winning their 2022 championship, Coach Steve Kerr and his crew have not had the desired success for various reasons. Blessed to have a generational talent in Curry, the management cannot afford to let go of his championship window. Entering his 17th season, the two-time MVP has shown no signs of slowing down. Hence, given his invaluable contributions to the franchise and the city of San Francisco, the front office owes him a shot at his fifth title. Not to forget his legacy, known as the face that changed the game. Advertisement Related: "What is this? Draymond Green Has Honest Admission on Warriors' Playoff Loss
Draymond Green Has Honest Admission on Warriors' Playoff Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Golden State Warriors duo Draymond Green and Stephen Curry have seen everything the NBA has to offer alongside one another. Advertisement Both players helped lead the franchise, alongside Klay Thompson, to four NBA titles. Despite their older age, in NBA standards, they are both at the core of the Warriors' current squad. Behind Curry and Green, with the addition of Jimmy Butler, Golden State remains in a position to compete for another banner before a new era arrives in the Bay Area. Green, in particular, was a finalist to win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, while also making the All-Defensive First Team. While Green might not be the same player he was nearly a decade ago, he remains highly productive for the Warriors. Some things never change, however. As the Steve Kerr-led squad saw a second-round exit to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Green still managed to receive five technicals in the span of 12 playoff games. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green© Cary Edmondson-Imagn Images Green would have gotten a one-game suspension had he gotten two more technicals during the playoff run. Advertisement During an appearance with Jimmy Kimmel, Green had words about his five technicals. "I went into the playoffs like, 'I'm not getting any techs.' I had five in three games. You only get seven for the playoffs. Thank god lost," Green claimed. While Green is being satirical, he isn't all that wrong. The Warriors forward, with two more series, would have likely served a one-game suspension. The four-time All-Star isn't *actually* happy that they lost in the playoffs, though. He's simply cracking a joke about his technicals. Evidently, Golden State will be in a similar position to compete in the playoffs next season behind the play of Green, Curry and Butler -- though roster changes are needed.
