Following his removal as the MK Party secretary-general, Floyd Shivambu has announced on social media that he will be holding a media briefing to 'tell the truth and expose lies whenever they are told.'
A high-stakes briefing is set to take place in Johannesburg on Thursday, fuelling intense speculation about its agenda.
Reports indicate that Shivambu may be considering his resignation and the potential establishment of a new political party.
In a post on X, Shivambu cited Amilcar Cabral's quote: "Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories.'.
'It's our DNA to speak the truth because the truth is Revolutionary'.
The statement has generated interest, leaving many eager to see what Shivambu will reveal on Thursday.
Weighing in on this, political analyst Professor Sipho Seepe, said it's difficult to say what Shivambu is going to say in his briefing.
According to Seepe, Shivambu will use this to put his side of the story since his removal.
'When you are removed from a position, the reasons are not given out clearly, which leads to a lot of speculation,' he said.

Seepe said, 'The quote Shivambu used in the tweet is an interesting one because those critical issues, 'tell no lies, claim no easy victories' are missing in his case.'
He described the former EFF deputy president as a 'serious political player' regardless of party affiliation or party position.
'By calling a press conference, he is showing that he is not lost in the political terrain,' he said.
Shivambu was removed from his position earlier this month after his trip to Malawi to attend a church service led by a fugitive pastor, Shepherd Bushiri.
According to the party, this was the catalyst for his dismissal.
However, last week, it emerged that the real reason behind the decision was that Shivambu was rude and disrespectful to his fellow members.
The party did not want to respond to any questions related to the matter.

Bushiri says he prophesied Israel-Iran war
Self-proclaimed Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri has claimed to have prophesied the war between Iran and Israel five months before it happened. Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, targeting its nuclear facilities and military infrastructure, citing concerns over Iran's nuclear programme. Iran responded by declaring a state of war and launching missile strikes against Israel. The attacks are continuing between the two countries, leaving hundreds dead. In a Facebook video dated January 1 this year, Bushiri told his congregation that he saw a conflict in Tehran, Iran's capital, and warned that it might lead to an escalation. 'I saw a conflict in Tehran,' he said. 'Tehran will be up in smoke. We have to pray against this conflict. It will lead into an escalation.' Bushiri has made several prophecies that he claims have come to pass, but his ministry has been met with criticism and scepticism. Despite that, he continues to host services in Malawi and maintains a big following.

Floyd Shivambu's future in doubt ahead of MK-or-break address
Speculations are rife regarding Floyd Shivambu's future at uMkhonto weSizwe (MK Party). This comes ahead of the party's press conference on Thursday, 19 June. The press conference is expected to touch on political developments in the country. It follows the MK Party leader, Jacob Zuma's decision to remove Shivambu from the position of secretary-general. Taking to X, Shivambu shared a press invite without the official green and yellow MK colours. The post's caption read: 'Those who have worked with us know that the guiding dictum and principle is guided by Amilcar Cabral, who says, 'Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories'.' The former Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) member also added that it is his DNA to speak the truth because it is revolutionary. Shivambu thereafter shared another post with the official MK colours. Many social media users believe that Floyd Shivambu might be returning to the Red Berets. However, a key question gaining traction online is whether EFF leader Julius Malema would be willing to welcome the former party member back. EFF member of parliament, Sixolise Gcilishe responded to the questions and said: 'Juju will sadly forgive Floyd, because he is a man with a beautiful heart. He's forgiven people who have done worse to him. People who threatened his family and swore to bury him alive. He will forgive him[Floyd Shivambu]. But what he will not do is bring him back in the EFF. Unfortunately…' Others are also suggesting that Shivambu may start his own party. During the MK Party's launch of its youth division, the political party's president said those who want to leave the party are welcome to do so. According to TimesLive, Zuma said if members want to start their own party, they should go ahead. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 11.
