Christie Brinkley, 71, channels former Sports Illustrated Swim persona in red bikini
Christie Brinkley's still got it.
The 71-year-old model channeled her inner Sports Illustrated Swim energy as she modeled a red bikini during a boat day over the weekend.
"Feeling Optimistic and Hope your [sic] are too!" Brinkley, whose memoir will be released April 29, captioned the post.
"Wishing everyone bright sun shiny days ahead!"
Brinkley rose to prominence as a model in the 1970s. She posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and landed three consecutive cover shoots in 1979, 1980 and 1981.
The model landed over 500 magazine covers worldwide throughout her career and was photographed in more than 30 countries.
Brinkley was first discovered at the age of 20 outside a phone booth in Paris. The model's most iconic photos were taken for Sports Illustrated.
In 2017, Brinkley returned to the cover of Sports Illustrated — this time with her two daughters, Sailor and Alexa.
Sailor also chose to follow in her supermodel mother's footsteps.
Sailor, who began modeling as a teenager, often accompanied her mother to shoots and was featured in Teen Vogue. The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant previously told Fox News Digital what advice her model mom gave her as she followed in her footsteps.
"I think the biggest piece of advice that she gave me is to, first of all, be as kind as humanly possible to everyone around me that I'm working with," Sailor said. "And that's something I really try and stay strong on, even if I'm in a bad mood or anything like that."
"That's sort of the biggest piece of advice that I think makes the best mark on anything that I'm doing and on the world that I live in and on the career that I have, [it] is just being sure that I maintain a reputation where people feel safe and comfortable and loved and happy around me and appreciated."

American rugby player Ilona Maher was one of Team USA's breakout stars of the 2024 Paris Olympics - and with the 2028 summer games coming to Los Angeles, Maher is contemplating whether she wants to compete. "The Olympics was to get a medal for my team, to get a medal for our program so we could continue having a program so young girls could dream about being an Olympian and playing rugby in the U.S. So that's pressure." Since coming home from Paris, Maher has embraced her platform as a role model, becoming an advocate for body image and inclusion on and off the field. Along with everything else she has going on, she revealed in May that she has also been working on writing a memoir since 2022. "I was like, 'I don't have anything to write about,'" she told guest Mamrie Hart on an episode of her "House of Maher" podcast. "'What am I gonna write about?' And then one day, I opened up a Cutwater … I was at home and I just started typing and realized you have so much more to say than you realize sometimes." Rugby star Ilona Maher loved the chicken tenders at this Miami ‘strip club'
Ya gotta eat. Ilona Maher worked up quite an appetite while in town posing for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's show at the W during Miami Swim Week. So, where did the rugby champ get fortified? The last time she was in the 305 she tucked in to cuisine at beloved South of Fifth institution, Joe's Stone Crab. This trip, Maher ended up eating chicken tenders late night at a strip club, the bronze medalist revealed on the most recent episode of 'The House of Maher' podcast. When her two sisters/cohosts gave her heat about chowing down on a plate of fried food while everyone else around them was partying, Maher shut them down. 'I was hungry,' she said, adding, 'Here's the deal: I've actually learned you can trust chicken in these places. Seriously!' The name of the locale they patronized was not named, but the Vermont natives mentioned the entertainment included aerial shows, a fog machine and women dancing, um, seductively. They also mentioned that there was another club across the street that specializes in electronica music and doesn't get going until 6 a.m. That sounds like Space in downtown. So that led us to deduce the trio was at 24/7 hotspot E11Even, which bills itself as an ultraclub, thank you, not a strip club. We reached out to the reps, who confirmed that Maher was indeed there in the early hours of June 1. So were fellow guests, SI Swim models Olivia Dunn, Alix Earle and Bethenny Frankel. P.S. A scan of E11Even menu shows the tenders are $23, and served with a side of fries and a few dipping sauces. Despite not eating, Maher's sisters had a blast, literally. '[There] was this cold, foggy air and they blasted it at us and it went on for like 15 seconds,' Olivia explained of the special effects. 'You couldn't see a thing,' Adrianna chimed in. 'It was kind of exhilarating.'

Christie Brinkley opens up about raising kids in the spotlight: 'The toughest'
Christie Brinkley is getting candid about the challenges of motherhood, particularly when raising children in the public eye. In a new episode of the " Totally Booked with Zibby" podcast that aired Tuesday, the model and mother of three reflected on one of the most difficult aspects of fame, which she said includes protecting her kids from public criticism. "Having kids is probably one of the areas that's the toughest. Dealing with a certain amount of celebrity and the scrutiny that goes along with it is hard," Brinkley said. "When that overlaps and they start scrutinizing your kids and comparing? That really hurts. Really." Brinkley shares daughter Alexa Ray Joel, 38, with ex-husband Billy Joel. She is also mom to son Jack Paris Brinkley-Cook, 30, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Richard Taubman, and daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook, 26, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Cook. "It's the one thing that I can say has been the biggest bummer of being famous, because you never want what you are doing to hurt anybody," Brinkley continued. "And Alexa really got hurt by things that the media would say about her and continued to say about her through the years. It was really hard on her, and I think it's really hard." Brinkley noted that her two younger children faced their own unique pressures. "My other two came 10 years later, and Sailor, who got compared to me for looking like me, had difficulty with that, because she struggled with her weight," she said. "She dabbled in modeling, but she didn't really love it. It wasn't her thing, but when she was younger and she dabbled in it, she thought, 'Now I have to look like a model, and I have to lose weight.'" "But it was rough on her too, and she got an eating disorder, and she got anorexic -- and it's just tough," she added. To help shield her kids from negativity, Brinkley said she encourages them to avoid reading online comments and criticism altogether. "I try and say to them, 'Don't even read the press, for starters,'" she said. "And not even just the press, but the letters people write, although I must say, I think we have a very nice group of people in our Instagram." She also pushed back against the "nepo baby" label often attached to her eldest daughter, who is a singer-songwriter and pianist like her father. "I say to Alexa, 'If they say you're a nepo baby because you sing, do they say to the kid whose dad owns the hardware store and he takes over the hardware store, that he's a nepo baby?'" Brinkley said. "It's like a family business! Like, you grew up on a sound stage or on the edge of a Madison Square Garden stage." "'Nepo baby' is just a term that means your parents were in showbiz, so run with it. Who cares?" she added.
