Telangana to generate 20,000 MW of green power by 2030: Bhatti
Speaking to the media on Saturday after visiting the Greenko Integrated Power Project in Pinnapuram village, Orvakal Mandal, Kurnool district, he said that MoUs worth ₹1 lakh crore have already been signed for green power generation in Telangana. This was part of the 2025 New Energy Policy, aiming to achieve 20,000 MW of green power by 2029–30.
He pointed out that electricity consumption is rising across India, and if power is generated solely through coal, it increases costs and pollution, impacting the environment. However, Telangana government is exploring various avenues to enhance power generation and move toward surplus electricity. 'If production increases, employment and the State's GDP will grow. It's a continuous cycle,' he said.
The Deputy CM said he visited Greenko project to observe the green power production at their integrated project, which also exports electricity to other countries.
He praised Greenko Power for starting electricity production on schedule and noted that the company was producing electricity from solar, wind, and pumped storage at a single location spread across 4,000 acres, the first of its kind in the world. The production includes 4,000 MW through solar, 1,000 MW through wind, 1,680 MW through pumped storage totalling 6,680 MW of green power from a single site.
As part of his visit, he inspected key infrastructure, including the upper and lower reservoirs of the closed-loop pumped storage system, the powerhouse complex, and the advanced substation.

Govt. to develop around 13,000 km road network, says Deputy CM
The State government has embarked upon an ambitious programme for development of around 13,000 km road network across the State. It is proposed to develop 7,947 km roads through 17 packages under the Panchayat Raj department and the development through Roads and Buildings department will account for another 5,190 km in equal number of packages. The government is in the process of calling for tenders for the proposed road works approved by the State Cabinet so that works can be started at the earliest, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need for contractors to become partners in Telangana Rising and the government was firm on providing opportunities to small contractors too. A meeting with bankers has been arranged shortly to financially encourage contractors. Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka was speaking at a meeting convened on HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) roads here on Tuesday. He lamented that the BRS government left behind arrears of ₹45,000 crore pertaining to development works as legacy to the present government. The State government was focussing not only on welfare programmes but also on advancing infrastructure, industries, education and healthcare sectors as part of Telangana Rising. He acknowledged that the government was aware of the contractors' problems recalling that the previous dispensation entered into agreements for development works worth ₹1.75 lakh crore. It had however issued tokens for works estimated to cost ₹45,000 crore but failed to clear dues leaving behind financial burden on the present government. The situation was gradually improving as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Ministers and senior officials were focussing on the matter and as part of it, steps had been initiated to ensure that contractors overcame their difficulties. The government considered contractors, industrialists and investors as partners in wealth creation and was working with a humanitarian approach. He said some roads needed to be converted into four lane ones in view of the traffic requirements and directed the officials concerned to prepare list of such roads so that it could be placed before the Cabinet for approval. As part of the works, the government would contribute 40% of funds required for HAM rosds and was working out modalities to raise necessary resources.

Telangana seeks Central aid for industrial parks in Madhira constituency
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka and industries minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday met Union MSME minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in New Delhi and urged him to extend Central aid for two industrial parks in the Madhira constituency, and 119 MSME parks in all the assembly constituencies in Telangana. The Telangana govt sought prior approval from the Centre to submit project proposals under the MSME-CDP (Cluster Development Programme) for financial assistance to develop these parks. "Proposals have been submitted to set up industrial parks in Yendapally (Madhira mandal) and Remidicherla (Errupalem mandal) in Khammam district. Plans have been drawn up to develop these parks in 85 acres and 60 acres, respectively. These parks are being designed to support various manufacturing sectors and are expected to generate at least 5,000 direct and 15,000 indirect employment opportunities," Bhatti further said. "We are expecting Central financial support under the MSME-CDP scheme. The MSME parks will include hostels, kitchens, toilets, testing centres, and other common facilities. Business development, product innovation, and market strategy services will also be made available. Support will be extended to women-led enterprises through the Streenidhi scheme, providing loan assistance to empower such units and expand livelihood opportunities for women," Bhatti said. Currently, under the MSME-CDP scheme, the Telangana govt is already implementing 25 projects with the support of the Union MSME ministry. These include industrial parks, flatted factory complexes, and Common Facility Centres (CFCs), all of which are playing a key role in strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the state. Telangana is seeking Central assistance under the relevant schemes to establish dedicated MSME parks in each Assembly constituency. Through these progressive initiatives, the Deputy CM and industries minister expressed confidence that Telangana will emerge as a key contributor toward India's vision of achieving a $30 trillion economy.

BRS neglected irrigation sector during their 10-year regime: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that Telangana's irrigation water needs are still being met by projects built by previous Congress govts on the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He added that the BRS did nothing for the development of the irrigation sector during their 10-year regime. "Not a single drop of irrigation water that rightfully belongs to Telangana will be given up. The state's interests are more important than politics. The previous BRS govt was responsible for allowing the Andhra Pradesh to take the Banakacherla project," he said after laying the foundation stone for the construction of 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity warehouses at Kamalapuram village in the Mudigonda mandal of the Khammam district. The warehouses are being built by the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation at a cost of ₹10 crore. He added: "It is because of chief minister A Revanth Reddy and irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy's effective presentation of arguments to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry in New Delhi that the Banakacherla project was halted." When Polavaram was being constructed, they just watched. When construction of the Banakacharla project began, they showed no concern. In fact, they rolled out the red carpet for AP leaders and mortgaged the interests of our state. Even when seven mandals of the Khammam district were merged into AP through an ordinance that was not included in the Reorganisation Act, they failed to stop it." Bhatti said, "We are correcting all the mistakes committed by the previous BRS govt. We are moving forward with a concrete action plan to make full use of the waters of the Krishna and Godavari rivers and ensure that Telangana's rightful share will not be taken by AP."
