BTS' V teased a big post-military project during his WeVerse live. Fans suspect he's joining Squid Game 3, but he's keeping it a mystery.
BTS member Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V, has sent the internet into overdrive with hints about his upcoming project following his military discharge. The singer, who recently completed his service, went live on WeVerse and teased something 'huge" coming up, without revealing any names, but fans think they've cracked the code.
V said during the live, 'This is probably… Maybe if we wait a little longer, I think it'll come out. But it's not really a big deal. Oh, but to me, it's actually a huge deal." His cryptic words were enough to send ARMYs into detective mode. The most popular theory? That V might be part of Netflix's Squid Game franchise, possibly even the upcoming Squid Game 3.
If he appears in Squid Game tomorrow… I think everyone will lose their minds😭🛐❤️ #SquidGameS3 #V pic.twitter.com/DHoaVfy2F2 — Diana, ????????ꪜ girl (Taylor's Version)✨ (@thVscenery_95) June 26, 2025
Squid Game Season 3 is going to be released tomorrow‼️Even the thought of possibly seeing Taehyung in the series makes me die from verve and excitement.I would say there is a 40% chance that he might be in it. pic.twitter.com/eJ8AlEIrcX — Stigma★ (@nxtarrv) June 26, 2025
The speculation isn't new. During BTS' Permission to Dance on Stage concert, V surprised fans by donning a guard costume reminiscent of Squid Game complete with a mask he removed dramatically. Many took it as an Easter egg hinting at a future collaboration.
The buzz gained momentum when Squid Game actors Lee Jung-jae (Player 456) and Wi Ha-joon (Jun-ho) were asked about V's involvement during an interview with BuzzFeed UK in January. While neither confirmed anything, their silence only added fuel to the fire. Jung-jae said, 'I can't say anything about that," while Ha-joon added, 'No comment."
Meanwhile, the final season of Squid Game is all set to premiere this Friday on Netflix. Its creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has already teased that the show will not have a 'happy ending", heightening curiosity even further. If V does make an appearance, it would mark his official acting debut in a major global series, a monumental crossover for both K-drama fans and ARMYs.
V has previously expressed his love for the show, calling himself a fan. And although he's chosen to remain tight-lipped for now, his live has certainly reignited hope that he may step into a dramatic, dystopian world next.

BTS' 2026 announcement just made HYBE's global staff 6.21 million KRW richer, here's how

BTS' return from military service is already paying off for everyone at HYBE. After a noticeable dip during the 18 months when all seven members, V, Jungkook, RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, and Jimin, were enlisted, the label finally saw its stock bounce back in June. And just before the septet returned, the agency announced every full-time HYBE employee, not just in Korea but across the globe, is getting 20 restricted stock units (RSUs), worth around 6.21 million KRW each at current value, according to Business Korea. That's roughly $4,500 per person, just a straight-up reward for riding out the BTS drought. Also read: BTS' Suga's students didn't know he was a star: 'He always arrived early, read my 500-page textbook, wasn't just a donor,' says hospital's professor In BTS' absence, the K-pop agency led by Bang Si Hyuk spread its wings to America, partnering with Scooter Braun. But even as it expanded, HYBE took some serious hits, starting with CEO backlash, followed by the ADOR mess and NewJeans drama, with Min Hee Jin's resignation and courtroom appearances dragging the company down. Now, with the Dynamite crooners finally back, hope's back too. Reports say that with BTS' upcoming project, HYBE's shares are expected to climb higher, which also means the final bonus could end up being way more than what's on paper. RSUs aren't instant cash. They're granted now, but only come through when certain terms are met. Which means, staff might walk away with more than just 6.21 million KRW once it's all said and done. Also read: K-pop group, once bigger than BTS, lost everything to controversy but never disbanded This is a first for HYBE as well, who, unlike previously, when they awarded RSUs only to a handful of executives (34 people in December, 32 employees recently), are now doing so for thousands of employees. With the full comeback expected in March 2026, HYBE clearly wants to boost employee morale and motivation before they go all out with global promotions, aiming for Grammys and sold-out arenas again. Currently, HYBE's shares have outperformed those of its peers, including YG Entertainment (home to BLACKPINK), SM Entertainment (home to NCT, BoA, EXO), and Kakao Corp (which houses Jay Park, Chungha, FTISLAND, CNBLUE, and more). Analysts say BTS's return could trigger a major spike in HYBE's sales, especially in high-profit areas like concerts and merchandise. Mirae Asset Securities even raised HYBE's stock target from ₩345,000 (around $250 USD) to ₩390,000 (about $280 USD).

Will Gong Yoo return in Squid Game Season 3? Here's why fans think The Recruiter might be alive in the final part

Squid Game Season 3: Ever since Gong Yoo's chilling role as The Recruiter in Squid Game, fans have gone bonkers with theories about his character appearing again in Season 3. Even though his character died in Season 2, an eagle-eyed clip of him briefly reopening his eyes sparked a wave of speculation. Now, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has hinted at exploring The Recruiter's backstory, hinting at either a comeback or even a full spin-off, leaving fans wondering: Is Gong Yoo really coming back? Squid Game season 3: Clues that fuelled Go Yoo's return rumour That blink in Season 2, Episode 2 quickly became one of the most talked-about moments among fans. Just as Gong Yoo's character, The Recruiter, is shown lying lifeless, his eye flickers open for a split second. It was easy to miss, but for those who caught it, the moment set off an avalanche of theories. Was it just a filming oversight? Or something far more deliberate? I knew The Salesman was alive 😂😂😂#SquidGame2 While casual viewers might dismiss it as a slip, long-time fans of Gong Yoo know better. He's not just any actor. He's known for being incredibly precise with his performances, often praised for how he uses subtle facial expressions to convey emotion or hidden intent. For someone with that level of control and experience, especially in a globally streamed Netflix series, the idea that such a moment was left in by accident feels unlikely to many. Creator confirms spin-off possibility In a big reveal, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk strongly hinted that Gong Yoo's character might return, just not necessarily in Season 3. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he teased a possible spin-off series focused solely on the recruiter's arc, separate from the main story's end. That strongly suggests The Recruiter didn't vanish from the Squid Game universe forever. "If the time comes, and it just so happens that I'm able to come up with a character or a different story, then maybe there might be a comeback. But I'm thinking more along the lines of a spinoff," he shared. With Squid Game Season 3 being the finale, what could happen? Squid Game Season 3 drops on June 27, 2025, with six episodes earmarked as the grand conclusion to Gi Hun's fight against the system and possibly his final clash with the Front Man. Though no official credit for Gong Yoo appears in current cast listings, Netflix Tudum's Season 3 cast guide hints The Recruiter could have 'a bigger part this season'. So… Will Gong Yoo Return in Squid Game Season 3? The answer: it's very possible, though the exact how remains uncertain. Given Hwang's openness about spin-off plans, Gong Yoo might reappear via flashbacks or hidden scenes. Even if he doesn't show up in this final season, the door is wide open for more from his iconic character.
