There is a long list of star kids like Arjun Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, and Twinkle Khanna who followed in their parents' footsteps and entered the film industry but could not taste success. This list also includes the names of two sisters who failed to make an impact on the silver screen like their mother and grandmother.
These two sisters inherited acting from their mother and grandmother. Their grandmother is known as the Mahanayika of Hindi cinema, and she was the first Indian actress to win an international award. After their grandmother, the mother of these two star kids, proved her mettle in films.
Today we are talking about Riya Sen and Raima Sen who flopped in the film world. Riya and Raima are the granddaughters of the great actress Suchitra Sen. Suchitra Sen had made an incomparable contribution to films. She won an award at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1963 and became the first Indian actress to win any international award.
Suchitra Sen distanced herself from films at the peak of her career due to the ups and downs in her personal life and she remained lost in the darkness of obscurity for 36 years. But no one has been able to forget the actress' contribution to cinema till date. Suchitra Sen was awarded Padma Shri and Bangabibhushan.
Munmun Sen, daughter of veteran actress Suchitra Sen, carried forward her legacy in the world of films. Munmun Sen worked in 60 films and 40 television series in the 80s. She appeared in Hindi as well as Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.
Taking forward the family legacy, Riya Sen and Raima Sen also tried their luck in the world of acting, but the fate of both the sisters was the same. They could not make their mark among the people through acting. The career of these two sisters belonging to the royal family of Tripura was a flop.
Riya Sen made her Bollywood debut in the year 2001 with the comedy film 'Style'. Riya Sen has done dozens of films in her Bollywood career, but most of the films were unsuccessful at the box office. According to the report of Box Office India, after the film 'Apna Sapna Money Money' released in 2006, 12 consecutive films of the actress were flops.
After giving 12 back-to-back flop films, Riya Sen distanced herself from the film industry and got married. In 2017, the actress married Shivam Tiwari. Before marriage, the actress had also made a lot of headlines with her relationship. Riya Sen's sister Raima Sen also tried her luck in Bollywood. She appeared in the Daman and Bengali film Chokher Bali. She appeared in films like Parineeta, Das, and Antar Mahal. Raima Sen has been a well-known name in Bengali films.

Radhika Das announces nine-city India tour

UK-based kirtan artist and bhakti yoga teacher Radhika Das will tour nine Indian cities this November with Silence in Sound , a series of live mantra meditation gatherings. The tour, which spans New Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru and Mumbai, will blend traditional devotional singing with storytelling and guided meditation. The events aim to offer accessible spiritual experiences rooted in ancient Vedic practices. Each two-hour session will feature call-and-response mantra chanting, supported by an ensemble mixing classical Indian and contemporary instruments, including harmonium, mridanga, saxophone and bass guitar. Radhika Das has previously performed at international festivals and venues including Bhakti Fest, World Yoga Festival, The British Museum and Union Chapel. With more than 50 million digital streams, his global work has centred on using sound as a medium for connection and reflection. 'This is a homecoming,' said Das ahead of the tour. 'These chants have ancient roots here. My goal is to create a space where people can reconnect with that legacy.' The performances are designed for a wide audience, requiring no prior experience in meditation or chanting. Organisers note that the carefully selected venues are chosen for their acoustic quality and spiritual resonance. The India tour marks a significant expansion of Radhika Das's work in creating immersive spiritual spaces that move beyond traditional frameworks, with a focus on inclusivity, emotional connection and collective introspection.
