Snow White OTT Release Date: If you're a sucker for fairy tales with a big-budget twist, here's some good news: Disney's much-awaited live-action take on Snow White is finally making its way to India. And no, you don't need to wait for a theatrical release, it's heading straight to OTT. The film will start streaming on JioHotstar from June 11, 2025, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

This new Snow White is a high-gloss reimagining with a fresh script, new music, and an updated take on some familiar characters. At the heart of it is Rachel Zegler (of West Side Story fame), playing the iconic role of Snow White. Opposite her is Gal Gadot, far removed from her Wonder Woman armour, playing the Evil Queen with a deliciously dark flair.
Directed by Marc Webb, best known for The Amazing Spider-Man films, the movie takes the basic bones of the 1937 animated classic and builds something bigger. Webb teams up with screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson and producer Marc Platt (of La La Land and The Little Mermaid 2023) to craft a more contemporary version of the tale.
One big shift is in the supporting characters. Instead of the original seven dwarfs, this version introduces a more diverse group of magical beings, portrayed using a mix of voice acting and motion capture. Actors like Tituss Burgess, Martin Klebba, and Andrew Barth Feldman lend their talents to this updated ensemble. The love interest, too, gets a makeover - enter Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, a rebellious and slightly roguish bandit who brings freshness to the story.
The music, a key ingredient in any Disney musical, is all-new but heavily inspired by the legacy of the original. The soundtrack features original songs written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land. Visually, Snow White is every bit a Disney spectacle. Lavish costumes, sweeping set designs, and high-end CGI give the story a grand scale.

The plot follows the general arc we all know - Snow White loses her father, becomes a servant in her own palace, and is hunted by a power-obsessed stepmother. Karthi's ‘Sardar 2,' directed by PS Mithran, wraps shoot
Sardar 2, Tamil actor Karthi and filmmaker PS Mithran's much-awaited sequel to their 2022 film, wrapped its principal photography on Saturday (June 7). Karthi shared pictures of the team from the Hua Hin Airport, Thailand, on his social media handles to announce the news. Sardar 2 is the sequel to Sardar, a spy action thriller that featured Karthi in dual roles as a father and son. It told the story of how a cop, striving hard to rise above the reputation of being a national traitor's son, learns of his father's secrets and a bigger conspiracy at play. A previously released prologue teaser showed Karthi's character take on SJ Suryah's 'Black Dagger,' in what promises to be an intriguing spy thriller. The sequel is set to feature Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, and Rajisha Vijayan in pivotal roles. The first Sardar film starred Rajisha along with Raashii Khanna, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu and Balaji Sakthivel. With music scored by Sam CS, the film has cinematography by George C Williams and editing by Vijay Velukutty. The upcoming sequel has a screenplay written by Rathna Kumar, Aashameera Aiyappan, and Vignesh Muniyandi. S Lakshman Kumar produces Sardar 2 under his Prince Pictures banner.
