Vijay-AIADMK Alliance On Cards? DMK Downplays Actor's Impact In 2026 Polls, BJP Keeps Option Open
AIADMK MLA Kadambur Raju indicated that Vijay's TVK may join the party's alliance in the future as they share a common goal of removing the ruling DMK from power in Tamil Nadu.
As the political mercury in Tamil Nadu is rising ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has hinted towards a possible tie-up with actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
AIADMK MLA and senior leader Kadambur Raju on Wednesday indicated that Vijay's TVK may join the party's alliance in the future as they share a common goal of removing the ruling DMK from power in Tamil Nadu.
'This is an anti-people government. They came to power by giving false poll promises. They are acting against the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu," Kadambur Raju said.
TVK-AIADMK-BJP Alliance In Tamil Nadu?
The AIADMK leader added that Vijay also echoes the same sentiment, and there is nothing wrong with that. 'In future, if the situation arises, when the alliance is confirmed next January, there is nothing to be surprised about like-minded parties joining the alliance," Raju remarked.
Regarding a potential TVK-AIADMK-BJP alliance, Raju expressed a desire for TVK to join forces with them. He emphasised that all parties aiming to defeat the DMK should collaborate and hoped that TVK would consider this option, noting that in politics, anything is possible.

'We want TVK to join us on board. If we want DMK to lose elections, we should join hands, We hope TVK considers," the BJP leader said.
DMK Reacts
Responding to the speculations, DMK leader Saravanan told CNN-News 18 that the AIADMK appeared uncertain about its electoral strategy.
'The ADMK is clueless. Nobody from their party is even talking in favour of its alliance with the BJP. BJP is a liability in the state of Tamil Nadu," he added.

'LS polls be considered null': Congress hits back at BJP's 'vote theft' allegations
Hitting back at the BJP for claiming irregularities in seats contested by some top opposition leaders, the Congress on Wednesday said the data shared by the ruling party points to its collusion with the Election Commission (EC) and demanded that the 2024 Lok Sabha polls be considered "null and void" for being held on "fake voter lists". Thakur slammed Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), SP and DMK leaders for raising questions on the EC and accused them of running a vicious propaganda against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, which is currently underway in Bihar and would be launched in other states, to protect their "vote bank of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators" and other "intruders". "Seeing this 'shor' (hue and cry) being made by the opposition, it now seems that 'chor machaye shor'", the BJP leader said, suggesting that those who were in the wrong are now crying foul. Bhujbal to not go to Gondia for I-day celebrations
Amid controversies over appointing ministers on Independence Day at the district headquarters, senior NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal conveyed his inability to travel to Gondia in Vidarbha for the flag hoisting ceremony due to health reasons. The government has now asked BJP minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha to attend the ceremony in Gondia. Bhujbal, who hails from Nasik district, is one of the most senior ministers in the Maharashtra cabinet. The government has yet not decided on guardian ministership of Nasik and Raigad due to disagreements between the allies of Mahayuti government. According to the original government resolution, BJP minister Girish Mahajan was to hoisting the flag in Nashik. According to sources, Bhujbal being the senior most minister in the cabinet was hoping to be nominated as the guardian minister instead of Mahajan. 'Bhujbal ji has conveyed his decision due to health related issues. There is no other reason neither any disagreement,' said NCP state president Sunil Tatkare. He added that since Bhujbal will not be going to Gondia, the Chief Minister has appointed Lodha. NCP minister Babasaheb Patil is the guardian minister of Gondia district. However, he is undergoing medical treatment, due to which he won't be traveling to Gondia, said sources. Earlier, NCP minister Aditi Tatkare was appointed to hoist the flag in Raigad district. The Shiv Sena has staked claim on the guardian ministership of Raigad, as a result of which the post is still vacant.
