🌎 The Club World Cup guide to...Juventus
Our guide to all 32 clubs participating at the FIFA Club World Cup continues.
Today we're looking at...Juventus.
How did they qualify for the Club World Cup?
As part of UEFA's four-year ranking system, Juventus were the eighth highest ranked side which allowed them to secure their place in the revamped competition.
History at the Club World Cup
Under its previous guise, Juventus have contested the final of the Intercontinental Cup on three occasions - facing Argentinean opposition each time.

In 1973, they represented their continent in the fixture despite not winning the European Cup (they were beaten finalists but Ajax declined the invite on financial grounds) and lost to Independiente.
They fared better in subsequent outings, beating Argentinos Juniors on penalties in 1985 and River Plate in 1996.
How did they perform in the 2024/25 season?
This has been, arguably, the most disappointing season for Juventus since the post-Calciopoli days. Juve needed until the last day to finish fourth in Serie A and were knocked out of the Champions League by PSV at the first knockout hurdle.
Who is the coach?
Igor Tudor is currently in charge of the Old Lady, having replaced Thiago Motta in late March after an underwhelming run of results under the former Bologna boss.

The Croatian, a popular player with the Bianconeri, is Juventus' first foreign coaching appointment since Didier Deschamps almost 20 years ago.
Who is their star player?
It has largely been a season of struggle for the Turin giants, not helped by injuries to key men like Bremer but amid the turmoil, Manuel Locatelli has been a model of consistency.
The midfielder may not be the most glamorous name but keeps his side ticking and is a vital cog in their machine who is set to impress in the USA.
Expected performance at the Club World Cup
In a group with Manchester City, Al Ain and Wydad AC, Juventus can justifiably expect to qualify for the next stage.

While lifting the trophy is likely to be beyond them on current form, they could reasonably be counted among the dark horses who can spring a surprise or two.

Pep Guardiola hints at new Manchester City role for Phil Foden in 2025/26 season
Phil Foden could be set to take on a new role in Manchester City's system, as hinted by head coach Pep Guardiola this week. The England international returned to action for the new 2025/26 season with a bang as he provided both a goal and an assist in Manchester City's opening victory of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Advertisement Scoring inside the opening two minutes, Foden inspired his side on to a convincing victory over Wydad AC in the group stage of the competition, before delivering the perfect corner for Jeremy Doku to volley home before the stroke of half-time. With Kevin De Bruyne departing the club and Manchester City recruiting Rayan Cherki from Lyon for the number 10 role, many have been wondering how that could impact Phil Foden's positional availability in Pep Guardiola's side. Operating through the middle alongside the aforementioned France international, Wednesday afternoon perhaps offered the first glimpse into the all-energy approach that Guardiola is attempting to implement in his forward line. And speaking to broadcasters after Manchester City's 2-0 win over Wydad AC in their opening contest of the Club World Cup, Pep Guardiola was quizzed on the importance of Foden after his match-winning performance in Philadelphia. Advertisement 'Of course he will be important [this season],' Guardiola insisted. The Catalan tactician continued, 'He plays another role, more there, we have a lot of No10s, we have to adjust many things, but step by step.' For now, it remains to be seen exactly what Pep Guardiola's preference is for the attacking midfield ranks in his side, although the remainder of the Club World Cup could offer some insight into the vision for the new season. Manchester City will next take on the United Arab Emirates' Al Ain on matchday two of the group stage, with the Middle-Eastern club falling to a tough 0-5 defeat on their own opening game of the competition at the hands of Juventus. Pep Guardiola has already stated that the clash against the side in Atlanta, Georgia at the weekend could see a heavily rotated line-up fielded, with as many as 10 new players anticipated for the contest.

Inter Miami vs. Porto From Anywhere for Free: Stream FIFA Club World Cup Soccer
Two teams who kicked off their FIFA Club World Cup campaigns with a point meet in Atlanta today, as Lionel Messi's Inter Miami face Portugal's Porto. Below, we'll outline the best live TV streaming services to watch every match of the tournament as it happens, wherever you are in the world. We'll also explain how to use a VPN if the match isn't available where you are, along with a full match list. Miami fans will be hoping for a livelier showing from their team today after Javier Mascherano's men played out a drab goalless stalemate against Al Ahly in their opening fixture of the tournament, despite a huge, mainly partisan attendance of 60,927 at Hard Rock Stadium. Porto also played out a 0-0 tie in their first game of the competition, in a far more entertaining encounter with Brazil's Palmeiras, in a match which saw young striker Samu Aghehowa impress despite not getting on the scoresheet. Inter Miami takes on Porto on Thursday, June 19, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT. That makes it an 8 p.m. BST start in the UK and a 5 a.m. AEST kickoff in Australia on Friday morning. Despite concerns over an apparent injury in training, head coach Javier Mascherano has confirmed that Lionel Messi is fit to play for Inter Miami in today's game. Miguel J. International press views on our Club World Cup clash v CF Pachuca El Universal (Mexico): "The new Pachuca under the charge of 'Jimmy' played with a philosophy that aimed to keep control of the ball, which created more problems than advantages, as the young Austrian side went after everything and tore around the pitch." Advertisement ESPN Deportes (USA/Mexico): "The hero of the match was Red Bull Salzburg's goalkeeper, Christian Zawieschitzky, who saved two big chances in the first half - a shot and header from Salomón Rondón, which would have sent the Tuzos in front." The New York Times (USA): "A great header from substitute Karim Onisiwo put the Austrians on the way to the win." Walla! Sport (Israel): "Oscar Gloukh could not have wished for a better start. The 21-year-old midfielder led Red Bull Salzburg to a 2-1 win over Mexican side Pachuca in his first match at the Club World Cup." Advertisement "Salzburg's youngsters weathered the storm. The foundations are now firmly in place, and it will be fascinating to see just what this young squad is capable of." BILD (Germany): "XXL interruption at the Club World Cup match. The lightning was striking in the sky above the stadium, as biblical rain lashed down. The referee had no alternative but to break play! Only an-hour-and-a-half later could the game resume. What entertainment it served up too with a spirited Salzburg side going 2-1 up with Onisiwo's goal in the 76th minute to send the Austrians to the top of the group." kicker (Germany): "Former Mainz player Onisiwo braved a 99-minute delay with the Austrian side not allowing the extreme weather to knock them out of their stride against Mexican outfit Pachuca."
