How Did Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Become Friends?

Cosmopolitan6 days ago
Ever wondered exactly how Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift became best friends? Well, Sel helpfully went on Therapuss and told the entire story, and it's alllll thanks to the Jonas Brothers.
"Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers," she told Jake Shane (via Just Jared). "I dated Nick and she dated Joe. And everything was it was cute, we were young. We all know and love each other now and it's so cute. We don't know what we were doing She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet."
Sel continued, "I was about 15 she was about 18 and that's when it was the crazy curly Taylor and she had all these bracelets that went all the way up. I believe 'Love Story' was the first song she had ever played me and it wasn't released yet. Yeah, I was in a hotel room and I remember it vividly, it was just one of those songs I instantly heard and thought this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. So, at that age we became best friends, bonded over the breakup. As girls do and then we I don't know and then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after and here we are now 16 years later."
She added of hearing "Love Story" before it was released, "I know it was so sweet, she was like 'Okay I just want to play you this song but just like you know, I don't know it's going to be the first single I think, I think' and just hearing her say those little thoughts and just listening to it. Yeah, she is a chameleon, she's incredible."

Zoë Kravitz Lost A Snake In Taylor Swift's House

Taylor Swift has proven to be a pretty chill friend, with the star remaining seriously nonchalant when Zoë Kravitz destroyed her bathroom after losing a snake in one of her homes. And yes, you read that correctly. For context, Taylor was kind enough to let Zoë and her mom, Lisa Bonet, stay in her home after they were forced to evacuate during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. All was going well until Zoë was packing up to leave after two weeks, and while she intended to leave her friend's home looking as though nobody had ever been there, Lisa's pet snake, Orpheus, had other ideas. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Zoë explained: '[Taylor] was kind enough to let me stay at her house, my mom lives in Topanga Canyon, so I said: 'No, that's a dangerous place to be. Come [here].' And my mom has a pet snake, and so she has her evacuation stuff; she came over with the snake. We ended up having to stay there for maybe about two weeks, and Taylor has this very beautiful house. I think it's from the '30s, like it's a beautiful house, something you want to preserve and take care of.' 'I was gonna leave. My mom was actually gonna stay longer, I had to leave for work,' Zoë continued. 'I was kind of packing up my things, and I was saying to my mom: 'I really wanna be a good house guest. I like to leave places better than I found them. I don't want [Taylor] to even know we were here.' So I was kind of going around and cleaning up, and I'm downstairs and she's upstairs, and my phone rings, and it's my mom.'Zoë immediately noticed how 'high' her mom's voice was, with Lisa telling her daughter: 'I'm in a little bit of a pickle. Can you come upstairs?' When the actor went up, she found the bathroom door closed, and when she opened it, Lisa was 'crouched in the corner in a weird way' and explained that she was holding Orpheus but 'just put her down for a second' to wash her face, and the snake had instantly found a 'little hole in the corner.' Zoë detailed how her mom was still holding onto the snake's tail, explaining: 'They're all muscle and very, very strong.'She noticed that the hole was next to a built-in banquette, and wondered if it led to the drawers, but when she took the drawers out, she was dismayed to learn that this was not the this point, Zoë admitted that she 'started to panic' as the snake was getting 'further and further' into the hole. She recalled: 'It's like that scene in Jurassic Park when they're in the car and the branches breaking every time they move. I was panicking so much that my mom likes to say: 'If I had both hands, I would have slapped you,' just to get it together. I was freaking out.'Zoë called her assistant, who also didn't know what to do, and eventually, Taylor's house manager appeared. After he'd processed that there was a snake loose in the bathroom, he got a crowbar and started to 'tear apart' the banquette. 'We're ripping up the tile, we're scratching the walls, we destroyed her bathroom,' Zoë confessed. "I was like: 'Either we destroy her bathroom, or I have to tell her that there's a snake somewhere in her house.'' And I think that we can all agree that while these are both bad options, the snake in the house is definitely way worse. After they safely retrieved Orpheus, and ruined Taylor's bathroom in the process, Zoë recalled: 'So we destroyed the bathroom and I said to her house manager, 'Obviously I'm gonna pay for everything to be fixed. Please just don't say anything until it's fixed, so I could just say everything's fine.'' However, the house manager was loyal to Taylor, and the star knew all about what had happened when Zoë braved calling her up later on. "I remember calling her saying: 'Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something…' And she was like: 'Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?'' Zoë recalled. Thankfully, it seems like Taylor was able to shake the whole ordeal off like a pro. Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show receives record audience spike thanks to Fox News guest

The Tonight Show landed its biggest audience in years as Jimmy Fallon hosted Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld last Thursday. The episode drew in 1.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same day figures. It was the program's most-watched 'regular' broadcast — meaning not airing directly after a major sporting event — since December 19, 2023, when a post-The Voice finale episode attracted 1.74 million viewers. Some of Thursday's viewers may be attributed to the night's lead guest, the Jonas Brothers; however, it's Gutfeld's segment that boasts by far the most viewers on the show's YouTube channel (990,000 at the time of writing). During the highly anticipated interview, Fallon and Gutfeld steered clear of politics, instead bantering about their first drunken meeting at a bar in New York City. 'This is hilarious — we've met before,' Fallon opened with. 'Yes, you have no memory of it. Which is understandable, because we were wasted,' Gutfeld responded before launching into a long-winded anecdote about their meeting. The host of Fox's politically charged comedy panel show, Gutfeld!, alluded to his then-upcoming appearance with Fallon last week, saying it would be the 'biggest crossover since the Harlem Globetrotters visited the Golden Girls.' 'Unlike the other guys, Jimmy sitting with me proves he's not afraid of upsetting his peers or afraid of my mesmerizing charm,' he added. Fallon has shown his willingness to be pragmatic about humoring the right in the past, infamously hosting Donald Trump in September 2016, two months before his victory over Hillary Clinton, and ruffling the New York property tycoon's blonde hair to check whether it was real. The gesture alienated some of The Tonight Show's audience, and Fallon later expressed regret over it, telling The New York Times in 2017: 'I didn't do it to humanize him. I almost did it to minimize him. I didn't think that would be a compliment: 'He did the thing that we all wanted to do.'' Trump himself was angered over Fallon's 'whimpering' attempts to distance himself from the interview, rebuking him on Twitter: 'Be a man Jimmy!' By contrast, Trump has long been a champion of Gutfeld, posting a Fox press release celebrating his high ratings on Truth Social last September and writing in all-caps: 'GUTFELD! NOTCHES LARGEST AUDIENCE IN PROGRAM HISTORY WITH NEARLY FIVE MILLION VIEWERS DURING INTERVIEW WITH FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP.' When fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert's show was axed last month, the president wrote: 'I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.' Gutfeld likewise gloated over The Late Show's demise, commenting on Fox: 'This was an 'institution,' and rather than put someone in his place they just said, 'We're closing up.' Imagine being a chef. You're such a bad chef that they cancel food… It's so obvious. You can't do a comedy show and a sermon at the same time.'

Joe Jonas Seemingly Gives Camp Rock 3 Update

Believe it or not, it's been 17 whole years since the Jonas Brothers starred in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam — aka two of Disney Channel's greatest original movies of all time. Joe, Nick, and Kevin respectively played Shane, Nate, and Jason in the fan-favorite films, while Disney alum Demi Lovato starred as protagonist Mitchie. Over the weekend, speculation about a potential third Camp Rock movie began bubbling after the Jonas Brothers reunited with Demi on stage during the opening night of their tour. Demi and Joe — whose onscreen Camp Rock romance briefly made its way off-screen as well back in the late 2000s — sang a medley of hits from the movie, marking the first time that the exes had performed together in about a decade. Well, now, it looks like Joe might've just given us an update on a potential Camp Rock 3. During a recent appearance with his brothers on Hot Ones Versus, Joe was asked to read his latest notes app entry out loud. Wasting no time, Joe unlocked his phone and said, 'Read Camp Rock 3.' Reacting to Joe's candid comment, Nick looked shocked as he stared directly at the camera, while Kevin let out an awkward laugh. 'That's pretty good,' Nick eventually said, while Kevin echoed, 'That's a pretty good one.' Joe said, 'It's the truth! It's literally right here,' before adding, 'Sorry, Disney.' Well then… We'll keep you posted if and when more unfolds. You can find the Jonas Brothers' Hot Ones Versus video here. Do you love all things TV and movies?
