FBM KLCI Futures Close Marginally Higher Amid Mixed Cash Market
KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed marginally higher today, amid a mixed performance in the underlying cash market.
At the close, June 2025 increased two points to 1,510.0, July 2025 added 2.5 points to 1,507.50, September 2025 rose three points to 1,490.0, and December 2025 gained one point to 1,494.0.
Turnover declined to 4,410 lots from 5,528 lots on Tuesday, while open interest reduced to 39,977 contracts from 40,910 yesterday.

Bernama CEO Receives ‘Women Of The Decade' Honour At WEF ASEAN 2025
KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin was among the recipients of the Women of the Decade award at the Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2025. WEF ASEAN 2025 president Datin Dr Hartini Osman, speaking on the sidelines of the event, said the award honours Nur-ul Afida's leadership and steadfast commitment to the advancement of the media industry. "On behalf of WEF, we congratulate Bernama CEO Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida. She was conferred the Women of the Decade award in recognition of her potential and the significant achievements she has made in her field of leadership. 'With this award, we hope it will further inspire her to continue elevating the role of women, not only in Malaysia but globally,' she told Bernama at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) today. Nur-ul Afida was appointed CEO of Bernama on February 27 last year. Before that, in October 2023, she made history as the first woman to be appointed editor-in-chief of the national news agency since its establishment in 1967. A well-recognised figure in Malaysian journalism, Nur-ul Afida was appointed to the Administrative Council of the Malaysian Press Institute on May 16 last year. In recognition of her trailblazing leadership and role in inspiring a new generation of women in journalism, she was honoured with the Luminary Media Award by the National Press Club at its Diamond Jubilee Awards ceremony on Sept 27, 2023. Nur-ul Afida was, however, unable to attend today's award presentation by the Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as she is currently in St. Petersburg, Russia, attending the General Assembly of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies. Do Not Underestimate The Importance Of JS-SEZ
BUSINESS ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 19 (Bernama) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has underscored the significance of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), describing it as an extraordinary model of cross-border cooperation that sets a new benchmark for bilateral economic collaboration. Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the strong partnership between Malaysia and Singapore has led to rising international interest in JS-SEZ, attracting investors from Japan, China, South Korea and Europe, and positioning it as a new global investment dynamo. 'Do not underestimate the importance of JS-SEZ. This is not an ordinary SEZ. 'Name me one other economic zone that involves two countries, built entirely on mutual trust and the spirit of working as one formidable team. That's what makes JS-SEZ unique,' he said during the closing ceremony of Nikkei Forum Medini 2025. Also present was Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. The Prime Minister also credited the zone's rapid progress to its clear policies, political stability and institutional support from both federal and state authorities. He said this includes the newly established Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre, which he described as a key enabler in expediting investment approvals. 'Every meeting brings new demands. If they don't get approvals at the state level, they come to us. And we facilitate, not for personal gain, but for the greater good. That's why this centre is becoming a showcase for other states and federal agencies to follow,' he said. He acknowledged the contributions of Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB), Khazanah Nasional and the Johor state government in making the JS-SEZ a reality.
