
OPSC Releases Crucial Notice For OCS Main Exam Optional Papers
OPSC 2025: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued an important notice regarding the OCS Main Exam optional papers. Candidates who appeared for the Odisha Civil Services 2023 main examination can also check the notice on the official OPSC website, opsc.gov.in.
The official notification reads: "In continuation to this Office Notice No. 7404/C/PSC, Dt- 27.04.2025, it is for information of all the candidates appearing Anthropology Optional Papers that, after opening of the Question-cum- Answer Booklet Packets of Anthropology, Optional Paper-II in the Examination Halls in the 2nd session on 27.04.2025, the Written Examination of Anthropology, Optional Paper-II shall continue as such and the concerned candidates have already been instructed to appear the Optional Paper as the Question-cum- Answer Booklet of Anthropology, Paper-II contains questions from the Syllabus of Anthropology, Paper-I."
OPSC 2025: Exam Pattern
The OPSC OCS Exam consists of three stages:
Preliminary Examination (Prelims): A screening test to shortlist candidates for the next round, consisting of two papers - General Studies Paper I and II.
Main Examination (Mains): A written examination assessing candidates' knowledge and skills in greater depth, comprising five papers and two optional papers.
Interview Round (Personality Test): A personal interview evaluating candidates' personality, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role.

Legal battle over GATE norm for 621 AEE posts reaches SC
CUTTACK: The Supreme Court has admitted a special leave petition (SLP) challenging the January 15 Orissa High Court order regarding the process of selection of candidates for 621 posts of assistant executive engineers (AEEs) by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), while refusing to grant a stay on the recruitment process. The OPSC had in an advertisement for 2023-24 invited applications for posts of AEEs in civil (580) and mechanical (41) branches on December 28, 2023, with the last date of submission being February 26, 2024. Under the Odisha Engineering Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Rules, 2023, the objective written test was replaced by selection on the basis of the highest of the valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score obtained by the candidates in the three years preceding the date of advertisement (including the year of advertisement). On January 15, 2025, the high court, acting on a batch of petitions, directed the OPSC to extend the application deadline to enable candidates who were otherwise eligible by age and educational qualification as per the original cut-off date to apply after appearing in the GATE examination. Complying with the direction, OPSC on April 11, 2025, notified rescheduled dates allowing submission of applications for the posts from April 22 to May 8.

NEET UG 2025 provisional answer key out, raise objections by June 5
NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday released the provisional answer keys for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 exam held on May 4. An official release said that the candidates who appeared for the exam, which decides admissions in undergraduate courses in medical and allied streams, can download these answer keys from the official NTA website ( The scanned copies of the response sheets submitted by the candidate too are available in order to help students arrive at a rough estimate of their score. NTA is expected to release the results and announce the All India Ranks by June 14. The release said the candidates are also permitted to contest the answers and submit their challenges online. The answer key challenge window will remain open from June 3 to June 5. A fee of Rs 200 needs to be paid for any challenge posed by the student. A total of 20.87 lakh students appeared for the exam at 4,750 centres in India and 14 centres abroad. The question paper consisted of 180 questions split equally between Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
