Muse Reaches The Top 10 For The First Time In A Decade

After several years of relative quiet, it looks like Muse is preparing the world for a brand new album. The English rock band, which has ranked as one of the biggest in the country for well over a decade, dropped a new single titled "Unraveling" in mid-June, and unsurprisingly, it has become a quick hit on a number of charts in the United Kingdom.
The tune even helps the group score its first new top 10 smash on one sales ranking in 15 years as it arrives.
"Unraveling" Debuts Inside the Top 10
"Unraveling" opens at No. 9 on the Official Singles Downloads chart, which ranks the top-performing individual tracks on platforms like iTunes and other digital download storefronts. Muse has only scored a trio of appearances within that loftiest space throughout the years, and it has been quite a long time since the band pushed a track into the region.
Muse's First New Top 10 in More Than 15 Years
"Unraveling" marks Muse's first new top 10 on the Official Singles Downloads chart since 2009. In September of that year, "Uprising" debuted at No. 9, in the same position where "Unraveling" begins. The group earned its first placement on the downloads tally and its debut top 10 with "Apocalypse Please," which only spent a single frame on that list at No. 10.
"Unraveling" Earns a Lofty Debut
Muse also sees "Unraveling" kick off its time on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart at No. 9. On that list, the superstar musicians have seen 23 of the 40 songs that have reached that genre-specific ranking enter the top 10 for at least one week. The group even doubles up on the tally, as "Supermassive Black Hole," one of its most famous releases, sits at No. 24, 676 frames into its tenure on the list.
"Unraveling" Misses the Top 10 on the Main Sales Chart
"Unraveling" just misses out on the top 10 on the Official Singles Sales chart, as it enters at No. 12. It also reaches the main ranking, the most closely watched list of the most consumed songs throughout the U.K., the Official Singles chart, but it does not approach the top 10. Instead, Muse has to settle for No. 85 as a fairly low starting point for the first single from what may be an upcoming new album.

Veterans return to Scotland for ‘magical' visit to Edinburgh Tattoo

Three veterans who served in the Second World War have attended the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo during a trip to Scotland for a 'return to places of deep personal meaning' organised by a charity. Eugeniusz Niedzielski, 101, Don Turrell, 100, and Dorothea Barron, 100, attend the pageantry event at Edinburgh Castle during their trip to Scotland, organised by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. They described the Tattoo as 'the icing on the cake' after seeing the show on Tuesday evening. The visit was organised after Mr Turrell, who lives in Frinton-on-Sea in Essex, disclosed it was his 'final wish' to return to Scotland, where he had served in the Cameronians, and he vowed to come back next year. Polish veteran Mr Niedzielski was 'delighted' to watch the Band of the Polish Border Guard, according to organisers. He served with the 1st Armoured Polish Division, and during the visit spent time with the Polish Community in Edinburgh, and also attended a Catholic Mass and a memorial service to his fallen comrades. Ms Barron, who served in the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), returned to the site of her former barracks at Port Edgar, now a housing development and had a tour of Campbeltown, while Mr Turrell visited the Cameronians Museum and the Ben Nevis Distillery. He said the visit was 'unforgettable', and also described the Tattoo as 'magical'. Mr Turrell said: 'It was breathtaking – from the stirring opening to the grand finale. When the pipers emerged through the smoke, I thought the procession would never end – it was magical. 'It's been absolutely wonderful – and I'm coming back next year.' Colin Mills, chairman of the Taxi Charity, said: 'Since 1948, the Taxi Charity has supported thousands of veterans, arranging free trips to the Netherlands and France for acts of commemoration, as well as days out to museums, concerts, and social events across the UK. 'This trip to Scotland was inspired when Don quietly shared with me that his last wish was to return there. We were determined to make it happen – and in doing so, we've not only fulfilled Don's dream, but also the heartfelt wishes of Dorothea and Eugeniusz.' Dick Goodwin, vice president of the Taxi Charity, said 'This trip has given the veterans the chance to return to places of deep personal meaning from their wartime service – and they've enjoyed every moment.' He said the Tattoo was 'a celebration of skill, pageantry, and shared history'. Mr Goodwin said: 'It was a fantastic performance, from the hundreds of pipers, The Band of the Polish Border Guard, that delighted World War Two veteran Eugeniusz Niedzielski, to the precision and daring of the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team, spinning and throwing rifles with bayonets attached. 'The whole evening was a celebration of skill, pageantry, and shared history. 'This trip has given the veterans the chance to return to places of deep personal meaning from their wartime service – and they've enjoyed every moment.'

Jessie J's hair 'is falling out like crazy'

Jessie J's hair was falling out "like crazy" after she underwent surgery. The 37-year-old pop star underwent a mastectomy in June, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, and in a video filmed two weeks ago, Jessie revealed the physical toll of her surgery. In a video posted on Instagram, and filmed before a TV show appearance, Jessie explains: "My hair has been falling out like crazy since the surgery. "Five weeks today since my surgery and I'm feeling okay." Jessie admitted that she doesn't know what the future holds and that her health troubles had changed her "perspective on everything". The singer - who has son Sky, two, with Chanan Colman - said: "I'm just trying to figure out what the next six months will look like. "I know I can't do everything that I was suppose to be doing but I just want to be able to make it work the best I can for everybody, me, Sky, my fans but in the right order. "You are always gonna leave some people disappointed. My perspective on everything has changed so much." Meanwhile, Jessie recently revealed that she's set to undergo another surgery later this year. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Jessie shared: "I can rest, parent AND release new music. "I didn't leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to re write the rules to fit around my life / health. I just have to make it realistic on what I can deliver in all roles in my life. "Another surgery needed this year. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "Raising a toddler. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "Releasing new music. "I can do it. [tick emoji] "It will look different to what I had planned but that's life, things change and either we panic and get mad that it isn't what is was going to be, or we ADAPT. "I'm just flowing with life. Learning about who I am in motherhood and when my health goes left unexpectedly. (sic)" Jessie is still in the midst of her recovery from surgery. However, she remains ambitious and is looking to the future with optimism. The singer said: "I am 7 weeks post breast cancer surgery. I'm still in the thick of recovery and my body is still finding its way. But I LOVE music and I LOVE my life and I want to LIVE in the moment. (sic)"

🎶 Pop predicts Premier League 25/26: Friction (Arsenal) 🔮

The new Premier League season is almost upon us and to celebrate, we have enlisted the help of some football-loving pop stars to preview and predict the coming campaign. Click here to read all of the interviews! Today we've got Arsenal fan Friction! Hi Friction. What are you hoping to see from Arsenal in the 2025/26 Premier League season? After what I think is a really strong transfer window (that may not be finished), I'd love to see us make that step up and win the league this season. Liverpool look even stronger and Chelsea look like they've improved too so obviously it's going to be tough but let's see what happens! What is your hottest take or boldest prediction for Arsenal's 2025/26 Premier League season? Christian Nørgaard will prove to be a really valuable addition to the squad. If you were going to bet your life savings on something definitely happening to Arsenal in the 2025/26 season, what would it be? That we will again fall victim to some absolutely shocking refereeing/VAR decisions! Other than your own, which team or player are you most excited to watch in the 2025/26 season? Really excited to see Florian Wirtz. He looks like such a good player. What do you predict will be the first managerial change of the 2025/26 season? I think things could be tough for Ruben Amorim if Man United don't get off to a strong start. Who will turn out to be Arsenal's signing of the summer? Martín Zubimendi. Who will finish as the Premier League's Player of the Season? I can't see why Mo Salah doesn't dominate again. Who will win the Golden Boot? Viktor Gyökeres. Which club will win the Premier League title? Arsenal. Finally, which three clubs will be relegated? Burnley, Leeds, Tottenham. Friction's new track, Real Life is out now.
