PDP chief calls to resolve legitimate internal issues
KARACHI: Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor has said all the legitimate internal issues should be resolved immediately but the proxies and agents of foreign forces must not be spared.
Altaf Shakoor said that with a weak economy and burden of loans no county can defend itself for long. He said the government instead of getting more loans should devise a strategy to cap further loans and generate resources internally by expanding agriculture, irrigation, water storage, solar power and a rapid urbanization and industrialisation.
He said that our civil and military leadership should focus on these issues on war footings so that Pakistan could be made a great nation of the present times. Pakistan defeated India aggression with a blend of bravery and cutting edge technology and it shows that now adopting emerging modern technology and equipment in our defense system has become a must, said Altaf Shakoor.
He congratulated the nation and countries, saying our brave armed forces have written a new history of thwarting foreign aggression and defending the homeland. He praised the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and the leading role of the Pakistan Air Force. He said the government also displayed an excellent diplomatic front and it was a victory for all of them.
Altaf Shakoor said that now there should be no compromise on Indus Water Treaty (IWT) and India should be talked in a language of power which it understands the best. He said Kashmir is the core issue. He said the Indian occupation army should leave Jammu and Kashmir and let the Kashmiri people decide their own future. He said the recent show of power by our brave armed forces on the Line of Control shows that this matter could be resolved militarily for good if India continues to refuse giving the Kashmiri people their right of self determination.
Altaf Shakoor said that now the game of warfare has totally changed. It needs to restructure the whole defence system as now drones and missiles are more important than traditional foot soldiers. He said more funds should be allocated to research and development of defense equipment, especially new breeds of missiles, drones and cyber-communication systems.
He said after overcoming the external aggressor, now it is time to deal with its agents and proxies working in Pakistan in the guise of different political and rights banners and slogans.
He said the armed forces fully know the traitors and the fifth columnists and now it is high time to tighten the noose around them. He said internal disturbance is more dangerous than out aggression.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), visited forward positions along the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with frontline troops, the military's media wing said. The Army Chief praised the formation's performance during Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyaanum Marsoos, paying tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis. 'You have befittingly avenged the loss of innocent Pakistani lives, including children, women, and the elderly, through your bold and effective response,' he said. While interacting with the troops, COAS Munir appreciated their high morale, operational preparedness, and vigilance in countering ceasefire violations by Indian forces. He reiterated full confidence in the armed forces' ability to deter and defeat any aggression. Reaffirming Pakistan's principled position on the Kashmir dispute, the COAS said the just and valiant struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation would not be forgotten. He stressed the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The Army Chief was received by the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps upon his arrival at the LoC.

India hails trade deal in talks with visiting British FM
NEW DELHI: Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said on Saturday a trade deal with Britain was 'truly a milestone' that will boost bilateral ties as he welcomed his counterpart David Lammy to New Delhi. India and Britain struck a long-delayed free trade agreement last month after negotiations were relaunched in February. Britain has sought to bolster trade ties across the world since it left the European Union under Brexit, a need that became more pressing after the United States unleashed a global tariff blitz that risks causing weaker economic growth. 'The recent conclusion of the India-UK FTA… is truly a milestone which will not only propel our two-way trade and investment but will also have a positive effect on other strategic aspects of our bilateral ties,' Jaishankar said after meeting Lammy, who is on a two-day visit. Lammy says UK, US working to ensure enduring Pakistan, India ceasefire, dialogue 'It would also contribute to the strengthening of supply and value chains,' he said. The accord will slash tariffs on imports of UK goods into India, including whisky, cosmetics and medical devices. In exchange, Britain will cut tariffs on imports of clothes, footwear and food products, including frozen prawns, from India. Britain and India are the sixth- and fifth-largest global economies respectively, with a trade relationship worth around 41 billion pounds ($54.8 billion) and investment supporting more than 600,000 jobs across both countries. They hope the free-trade agreement will increase trade between them by about 25.5 billion pounds, as well as boost the British economy and wages. Talks were relaunched in February after stalling under Britain's previous Conservative administrations. Lammy said before his visit the deal with India was 'just the start of our ambitions'.
