According to a report from USA Today, Richardson and her boyfriend, Coleman, were traveling for a track meet when the pair got into a verbal altercation at the Seattle airport. However, per the police report, things escalated quickly when Richardson allegedly pushed Coleman so hard that he fell into a column.
The Seattle Police Department alleged in their report that, after reviewing security footage, Richardson was seen repeatedly bumping into Coleman as he attempted to remove himself from the situation. They also claimed Richardson threw a pair of headphones at Coleman.
The New York Times reported that Coleman did not press charges against Richardson and that he "declined to be a victim."
Richardson was arrested and booked at the South Correctional Entity in Washington on Sunday, July 27, and released the following day.
USA Track and Field told USA Today that it was "aware of the report," but declined to comment on Richardson's legal woes at the time.

Sha'Carri Richardson Had A Stellar Performance During The 2024 Olympics
Richardson put on a spectacular performance during the 2024 Olympics, soaring past her rivals in the Women's 4x100 m relay to snag the gold medal. She was part of an electric team, which included Twanisha Terry, Gabby Thomas, and Melissa Jefferson.
Coleman, meanwhile, made his return to the Summer Games after missing the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. However, he and his 4x100 m relay teammates placed 8th after a technical hiccup occurred with Team USA during the first leg.
Richardson Was Suspended In 2021
Richardson had all eyes on her during the 2024 Summer Games, mainly because the sprinter was forced to sit out of the Tokyo Games after the United States Anti-Doping Agency revealed she tested positive for marijuana during the Olympic Trials.
She received a one-month suspension, which drew pushback from several prominent public figures, including "Bring It On" and "Being Mary Jane" star Gabrielle Union.
"Weed is great for many a thing, but running faster isn't one of them. LET HER RUN!!! #ShacarriRichardson," Union, 52, posted to her X account.
Television host Van Lathan also chimed in, posting a picture of Richardson on his Instagram, writing, "Free my dawgs."
Richardson Apologized After Being Forced To Miss Olympics
While appearing on the "Today" show, Richardson apologized and opened up about how "disappointed" she was in herself.
"I know that when I step on the track, I represent not only myself, I represent a community that has shown great support, great love," Richardson said before explaining she used marijuana to help her cope with her mother's death. "I apologize for the fact that I didn't know how to control my emotions or deal with my emotions during that time."
"We all have our different struggles, we all have our different things we deal with, but to put on a face and have to go out in front of the world and put on a face and hide my pain," Richardson said. "Who are you? Who am I to tell you how to cope when you're dealing with a pain or you're dealing with a struggle that you've never experienced before or that you never thought you'd have to deal with. Who am I to tell you how to cope? Who am I to tell you you're wrong for hurting?"

Ex-DOGE staffer allegedly injured in attempted carjacking — leading Trump to float federal takeover of D.C
Former Department of Government Efficiency staffer Edward Coristine was allegedly assaulted in an attempted carjacking in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, according to police records obtained by CBS News — an incident that led President Trump to threaten to put the nation's capital under federal control. 19-year-old Coristine — who is known for his online moniker "Big Balls" — was allegedly surrounded and assaulted by a group of approximately 10 teenagers near his car early Sunday morning, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department. Two 15-year-olds were arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking. Coristine and his significant other later told police that they "saw the suspects approach and make a comment about taking the vehicle," and "for her safety, he pushed his significant other … into the vehicle and turned to deal with the suspects," the police report said. Police officers who were patrolling the area spotted the incident and stepped out of their cruiser, leading most of the teens to flee on foot, but two of the assailants were stopped, identified by Coristine and arrested. The two arrestees were identified by police only as a 15-year-old male and a 15-year-old female from Hyattsville, Maryland. Police said in a statement that "multiple suspects remain outstanding." Emergency medical services did not transport anybody as part of the incident, D.C. Fire and EMS told CBS News. A black iPhone 16 was also stolen, the report said. Prior to the police report's release, Mr. Trump posted about the incident on Truth Social, sharing a photo of what appeared to be a bloodied "incredible young man" whom he said was "beaten mercilessly by local thugs." Billionaire Elon Musk — the former leader of DOGE — later said the victim was a member of DOGE. He wrote that the staffer spotted a group of people allegedly attempting to assault a young woman, and "ran to defend her and was severely beaten to the point of concussion," although Musk's description of the incident did not align with the police report and the extent of Coristine's injuries was unclear. CBS News has reached out to Musk for comment. Mr. Trump said crime in the nation's capital is "totally out of control" and called on authorities to "prosecute these 'minors' as adults, and lock them up for a long time, starting at age 14." The president also threatened to put D.C. under federal control if the city doesn't "get its act together, and quickly." "If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City," he wrote. Mr. Trump has backed the idea of federalizing D.C. in the past. The Constitution gives Congress the power to govern the city, but since 1973, the federal government has allowed D.C. residents to elect a mayor and city council that handle most aspects of local government. The city's autonomy is still limited, with Congress maintaining the right to override local laws — and Congress could choose to repeal the city's 52-year-old self-rule. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Son Heung-min agreed to a contract with Los Angeles FC on Tuesday, finalizing his move to Major League Soccer after a decade at Tottenham Hotspur. The 33-year-old South Korean superstar forward is joining LAFC three days after he formally announced his decision to leave Tottenham. Son attended LAFC's Leagues Cup match against Tigres at BMO Stadium on Tuesday night, watching from a luxury suite. LAFC will formally introduce Son at a news conference Wednesday. LAFC, a deep-pocketed club with significant team success in its first eight seasons of existence, reportedly paid a transfer fee of more than $20 million, which could end up being the most ever for an MLS move. Son was a beloved presence at Spurs, scoring 173 goals in 454 competitive appearances for the North London club while rising to global prominence with his combination of speed, playmaking skill and finishing acumen. The captain was given a memorable farewell last week in Seoul during Tottenham's exhibition match against Newcastle, getting a guard of honor from both teams and tearfully exiting in the second half while nearly 65,000 fans roared. But South Korea's most popular athlete — and almost certainly the greatest Asian soccer player in history — has chosen an auspicious stage for the next chapter of his groundbreaking career. Los Angeles has the world's largest ethnic Korean population outside Korea, with the city's vibrant Koreatown district sitting just a couple of miles from LAFC's BMO Stadium. LAFC is undoubtedly hoping to market Son as a soccer counterpart to the Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani, albeit on a smaller scale. LAFC currently sits sixth in the Western Conference at 10-6-6, but with multiple games in hand on every team in front of it because of its participation in the Club World Cup. Son's seven Premier League goals last season were his fewest since his Tottenham debut, but he still appears to have the pace and skill necessary to be a difference-maker at any level. He also turned 33 only a month ago, putting him on the younger end of the global stars recently arriving in MLS. Lionel Messi and Marco Reus were 35 and Luis Suárez was 37 when they went stateside in recent years, while Olivier Giroud and Lloris were both 37 when they joined LAFC last year. Son also will be reunited with longtime Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris, who has been outstanding since becoming LAFC's goalkeeper last season. High-scoring French forward Denis Bouanga is the only designated player currently under contract for LAFC, and general manager John Thorrington has been criticized by some fans for not using the full power of his financial resources this season.
