‘Holy smokes': America left in disbelief after never seen before act
During a pre-season game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 21-year-old stepped up on the stroke of halftime.
With his side trailing 14-6, Little and the Jaguars lined up a highly improbable attempt from deep within their own territory.
The kick was from the Jags' 40-yard line, meaning it was a 70-yard attempt to secure points just before the break.
Not daunted by the task that fronted him, Little began his march as the ball was snapped and put his right foot through the ball.
Place holder Logan Cooke threw his arms into the air almost instantly as the ball sailed through the air before crossing over the posts for the field goal.
While it won't officially enter the record books, the converted attempt smashes Justin Tucker's NFL record which sits at 66 yards.
The absurd display quickly sent the internet into meltdown with videos of the historic kick racking up millions of views.
Those watching on couldn't quite believe what they'd just witnessed.
Former NFL kicker turned media personality Pat McAfee wrote on X: 'THIS IS LEGENDARY.'
NFL legend JJ Watt wrote: '70 yards?!'
The Jaguars' official account added: '70-YARD FG WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!'
NFL Fantasy Football wrote: '70-YARD FIELD GOAL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?'
Steelers reporter Nick Farabaugh wrote: 'Cam Little just nailed a 70-yard field goal. Holy smokes.'
NFL Fashion Advice added: 'Absolutely preposterous.'
Despite the jaw-dropping moment, it wasn't to be for the Jaguars on the day as the Steelers secured the 31-25 victory.
Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson picked the Jaguars apart, finishing the contest with three touchdowns as he threw for 233 yards on 20/28 attempts.
The Jaguars will look to get on the board in week two when they take on the New Orleans Saints before finishing the pre-season against the Miami Dolphins.

A debt-clearing plan from current owners could be needed to save Western United
Western United's current investors are hoping to save the club from A-League extinction rather than rely on proposed new owners KAM Melbourne. Stripped of its A-League licence last Friday by Football Australia, United has until Saturday to lodge an appeal against the decision, which was made due to the financially embattled Victorian club's failure to meet the criteria required for a licence. United and its parent company Western Melbourne Group had hoped its financial woes – including a six-figure sum owed to the club's former striker Aleksandar Prijovic and a multimillion-dollar tax debt reportedly owed by United chairman Jason Sourasis – were solved by a proposed $100 million investment from KAM Melbourne that was announced in May. However, the Australian Professional Leagues, which runs the A-League, is yet to receive the completed ownership proposal from KAM Melbourne, a subsidiary of American company KAS Sports. With ongoing uncertainty about KAM Melbourne's ability to submit a viable proposal, it's understood investors that make up WMG – which is headed by Sourasis – have been advised and encouraged to pay the club's debts to ensure United's future. Paying Prijovic would lead to FIFA lifting the ban it imposed on United from registering new signings. That, as well as payment of the tax bill, would go a long towards United's appeal against being stripped off its licence being successful. United's squad continues to train at the club's Tarneit base under coach, Socceroos great John Aloisi. Under the guidance of Aloisi, United won the 2022 A-League championship, with Switzerland-born Serbian international Prijovic having played a leading role in the club's 2-0n grand final win over Melbourne City at AAMI Park. Meanwhile, Socceroos defender Jason Davidson has rejoined Melbourne Victory on a two-year deal. Davidson, 34, spent the 2021-22 season with the Victory before spend the past three years in Europe with stints at Eupen (Belgium) and Panserraikos (Greece). 'Returning to Victory after three years in Europe is incredibly exciting,' Davidson said. 'My time overseas has only made me more hungry for success. I intend to bring my best to the team, alongside the rest of the playing group, and help drive success this season.' Victory coach Arthur Diles said: 'Jason has proven his ability to be a game changer in both the A-League and on the international stage.'

NBA approves American record sale of Boston Celtics to private equity mogul Bill Chisholm
The NBA has unanimously approved the sale of the Boston Celtics to a group led by private equity mogul Bill Chisholm, a deal that values the franchise at $9.31 billion (US$6.1 billion). The league said the transaction is expected to close soon. When it does, Chisholm will take ownership of at least 51 per cent of the team, with full control coming by 2028 at a price that could bring the total value to $11.15 billion (US$7.3 billion). That's the largest price ever paid for an American professional sports team, though Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter has agreed to buy a controlling share of the Lakers in a deal that would place the value of the entire franchise at $15.27 billion (US$10 billion). It's not clear how much Walter would own; current owner Jeanie Buss is expected to retain at least 15 per cent of the team. The previous record for a US sports franchise was the US$6.05 billion paid for the NFL's Washington Commanders in 2023. The record price for an NBA team was the US$4 billion mortgage firm owner Mat Ishbia paid for the Phoenix Suns in 2023. A Massachusetts native and graduate of Dartmouth College and Penn's Wharton School of business, Chisholm is the managing partner of California-based Symphony Technology Group. The new ownership group also includes Boston businessmen Rob Hale, who is a current Celtics shareholder, and Bruce Beal Jr. Wyc Grousbeck led the ownership group that bought the team in 2002 for US$360 million and presided over NBA championships in 2008 and 2024. The franchise's 18 NBA titles is a record. Chisholm outbid at least two other groups, one led by previous Celtics minority partner Steve Pagliuca. Pagliuca has since announced plans to but the WNBA's Connecticut Sun for US$325 million and move them to Boston, but the women's league has baulked at the deal. AP

Two men charged after alleged match-fixing attempt on Gold Coast soccer games
Two men have been charged after an alleged match-fixing attempt involving a Gold Coast football club. Police allege on May 12 and June 20, two employees of an offshore investment group acting as "player agents" approached a Gold Coast soccer player at a Coomera address "in a coordinated effort to procure match-fixing behaviour in exchange for payment". The Gold Coast United Football Club issued a statement in relation to the investigation on June 28. "Gold Coast United FC is fully cooperating with both governing bodies throughout this process," the statement said. "As these investigations are ongoing, the club is unable to provide further comment or disclose additional information at this time." There is no suggestion there has been any wrongdoing by any Gold Coast United players. On Tuesday, officers from the NSW Police Organised Crime Squad's Gaming Unit carried out search warrants at properties in Mosman and Mount Colah in Sydney. A 55-year-old man and 45-year-old man were arrested and extradited to Brisbane on Wednesday. They were both charged with one count each of procuring a person to engage in match-fixing with pecuniary benefit. They are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today. Detective Chief Inspector Melissa Anderson from the Drug and Serious Crime Group said the matter was referred to authorities by Football Australia, and there was no evidence that a game was match-fixed or compromised. "These charges should serve as a clear warning to anyone considering taking part in match-fixing." She said this case was only the second time a person had been charged with a match-fixing offence since the legislation was introduced in 2014. "Match-fixing is serious criminal behaviour that undermines community confidence in the fairness of sport," she said "We are committed to working with partner agencies, including the New South Wales Police and Sport Integrity Australia, to ensure a safe and fair sporting environment in Queensland."
