Major Salman M. Aljawder from the Kingdom of Bahrain has hailed Dubai for being a pioneer of smart and international policing initiatives.
Aljawader, who is part of Dubai Police's Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma, has described his participation in the programme as a transformative experience that is sharpening his leadership skills and introducing him to cutting-edge tools shaping the future of law enforcement.
He further expressed his sincere gratitude to His Excellency Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for granting him the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious programme.
'As an officer leading teams in the Protocol and VIP Protection Directorate, I always seek innovative methods to enhance operational efficiency and team performance. The PIL Diploma delivers a future-focused curriculum that perfectly aligns with my vision of modern security leadership,' said Aljawder.
Impactful experience
Reflecting on his most impactful experience, Aljawder highlighted the interactive workshops as a key strength of the programme.
'Engaging with police leaders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds gave me invaluable insights into leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. The sessions on AI-supported policing and advanced security technologies reshaped how I view decision-making and tech integration in law enforcement. These workshops have deepened my understanding of innovation as a catalyst for improving police operations,' he said.

Commenting on the programme's structure, Aljawder commended its balanced design: 'It combines theoretical knowledge with practical exposure in a seamless and well-organised way. The expert-led sessions, field visits, and logistical coordination reflect Dubai Police's outstanding commitment to excellence. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity and the effort invested in creating this rich learning environment. The PIL Diploma sets a benchmark for global police training.'
Aljawder is keen to share what he has learned with colleagues back home, particularly in integrating AI into police work, data-driven decision-making, and smart security systems.

24 new eServices added to MyGov mobile app in second phase

Twenty-four new government services have been added to the MyGov mobile app, which is available through the eGovernment Apps Store, This was annnounced by His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive. The services cover a range of sectors, including the Interior, Civil Defense, Criminal Investigation, Traffic, Transportation and Telecommunications, and Electricity and Water. The ID card issuance service has also been enhanced with the introduction of an organ donation icon option, as well as expanded support features such as payment notifications and emergency alerts. In line with government directives and with the follow-up of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), iGA's Chief Executive said that the work is continues to expand the digital services available on MyGov app, aiming towards the apps strategy merger direction into three primary platforms: 'MyGov' for individuals, 'AlTajir' for businesses and investors, and 'Visit Bahrain' for visitors. Postal services The Government Directory & Bahrain post app will soon be discontinued after merging its postal services. Al Qaed also highlighted that Electricity & Water app services are integrated with MyGov app, while eTraffic app services currently in progress, which both apps will be discontinued, along with the Student Exam Results app, with services offered via alternative channels. He said that these changes reinforce MyGov app as the unified national platform facilitating convenient access to digital government services.

Kuwait Announces New Visa for Expats in UAE

Kuwait has announced new visa on arrival rules for expat residents living in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. The new visa was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al Yousef Al Sabah. The tourist visit visa is offered to residents of GCC countries and is designed to boost tourism from neighbouring countries. Ministerial Decision No. 1386 of 2025 was published in the official gazette Kuwait Al Youm and is effective immediately. Further details were shared of the major new visa offering: Applicants must have a valid residence visa for a GCC country with a minimum of six months left to run The visit visa will be available upon arrival at ports of entry across Kuwait Local media reports in the country said that the move takes precedent over Decision No. 1228 of 2008, which previously governed the entry of GCC residents into the country under similar provisions.
