Samantha Ruth Prabhu breaks silence on receiving Rs 200 crore alimony after divorce with Naga Chaitanya: 'I waited...'
In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, every move and every action of celebrities is under high scrutiny. Whether it's their OOTD fits, appearance at an event, or their interpersonal relationships. One such case is of a beloved former couple, whose divorce had fans' hearts in splits. And soon after their separation, rumours of alimony kept doing the rounds.
Yes, we are talking about the former South Indian couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The duo married in 2017; however, their union didn't last long, and in 2021, they decided to part ways. For four years, speculations of Samantha receiving Rs. 200 crores kept doing the rounds; however, now the real story has finally come out, and it is not what met the eye.
After their separation in 2021, narratives of Samantha taking Rs. 200 crores alimony were built; however, later, it turned out that all this information was false and baseless.
Back when Samantha Prabhu appeared for an interview in Koffee With Karan, she addressed the alimony rumours and remarked sarcastically, 'I took ₹200 crore? I waited every morning for it to appear in my account!' She further added that these claims are false, and she hasn't received a single penny. 'The truth is—I didn't take a single penny from anyone,' She said.
Naga Chaitanya also appeared in a podcast where he clarified his side of the story. Addressing the gossip around the divorce, he said, 'We both decided to part ways and chose to respect each other. We are moving forward in our own lives with peace and respect.'
While their separation left the fans heartbroken and shattered, what's good is that both celebrities are doing well in their personal and professional life. While Samantha is enjoying her growing fan following, Naga Chaitanya has found love again. Naga began dating Sobhita Dhulipala after his divorce, which later evolved into marriage.
However, despite their failed marriage, it's commendable to see that both celebrities have handled the situation with utmost maturity and dignity, without playing the dirty game of blame.

35 handwritten letters by Rabindranath Tagore, estimated to fetch Rs 5-7 crore, to be auctioned

A set of 35 handwritten letters written by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore to sociologist and musicologist Dhurjati Prasad Mukerji are set to go under the hammer at AstaGuru's 'Collectors' Choice' auction that will be held online on June 26-27. Belonging to a private Kolkata-based collection, the set of letters written between 1927 to 1936, are estimated to fetch Rs 5 to 7 crore. The lot also includes 14 envelopes. Classified as 'National Art Treasure', which cannot be taken out of India, the letters reflect the relationship shared between Tagore and Mukerji, who was his close confidante. 'These letters go beyond mere communication; they offer a glimpse into Tagore's inner world during a period of profound artistic evolution. Within them, we witness the poet, the painter, the thinker — expressing himself across letterheads that trace his journey from Santiniketan to Darjeeling to his houseboat, Padma. The provenance, too, is exceptional. This set is a rare convergence of literary, cultural, and philosophical importance. These are not just letters — they are portals into a changing India, a poet's unfolding vision, and the very ethos that shaped Santiniketan,' notes Manoj Mansukhani, CMO, AstaGuru Auction House. Written in Bengali on pages with different letterheads — including Visva-Bharati, his Uttarayan residence and Glen Eden in Darjeeling — the discussions between the two span numerous subjects, including cultural activities, poetry and Visva-Bharati University, founded by Tagore in 1921 in Santiniketan. One letter, for instance, has the polymath discussing his poems in 'Punascha' and 'Shesh Saptak' and how critics received them. 'The rhythm of silence,' he noted, 'is part of the poem.' Another letter has him appreciating artist Nandalal Bose, who anchors what Tagore describes as 'Nandanology'. While several of these letters have previously been published in literary magazines such as Parichay, and books like Sangeet Chinta and Chhanda, AstaGuru notes that at least four of these are unpublished. The auction also includes a 1883 quartzite stone sculptural work by Tagore. Titled 'The Heart', it is estimated to fetch Rs 55 to 70 lakh. A note by AstraGuru states that the sculpture was made by Tagore when he was in his 20s, during a visit to Karwar, Karnataka. It also mentions that the work is believed to have been dedicated to Kadambari Devi, his sister-in-law. Engraved by Tagore on it are the words: 'Having cut my heart of stone, I have engraved (the words) with my own hand. Will it (the writing) be ever effaced by the flow of tears?' The other highlights of the auction include a MF Husain canvas from the 'Mother Teresa' series (estimated at Rs 2-3 crore), A Ramachandran's Visions of Ramdev – Ahalya in Red (estimated Rs 1.2-1.6 crore), and a Nandalal Bose landscape in watercolour and ink (estimated Rs 25-35 lakh).

What Does A Japanese Melon Worth Rs 8600 Taste Like? Viral Video Reveals

If you love eating melons, what is the highest price you are willing to pay for one? Nowadays, it is something of a status symbol to enjoy some of the most exquisite and exclusive fruits from around the world. They are said to be grown, handpicked and packaged with the utmost care. And in some cases, their eye-watering prices make headlines. For instance, you may recall the $20 Erewhon strawberry that went viral some time ago. Recently, another rather exorbitant fruit has grabbed eyeballs on social media and sparked a fresh debate in the comments section. Zoya Biglary, an entrepreneur and food content creator, took to her Instagram page to share her experience of relishing a melon from Japan that cost her $100 (approx. Rs 8600). She gives us a glimpse of its special packaging as she unboxes the product. The fruit comes in what looks to be a custom-made box and is carefully packed to maintain its shape (so it doesn't get squashed). As Zoya removes the musk melon, she jokingly compares it to "unwrapping a baby." She notes that spending such a high amount on a single melon may seem like too much. But she defends her decision. "This melon is a whole experience," she says. She goes on to compare its price with that of drinks at bars in Los Angeles. She wonders aloud, "Why is a luxury fruit such a crazy concept?" She peels the melon and we finally see its green coloured flesh inside. She cuts it in half and marvels, "This is a very delicate and soft melon." As she slices the fruit, she notes that it is also "very juicy." Wondering what her verdict was after eating it? She declared, "It is by far the sweetest melon I have ever tasted." Later, she adds, " I don't care what anyone says. It's worth 100 bucks." The melon was delivered by ELLY AMAI Kyoto, a company that specialises in sourcing and selling premium Japanese fruits. "The packing alone just shows how much care and love go into taking care of those melons." "Keep the seeds and plant them." "Vaaaayyyy that's like 20 bucks worth of juice dripping!!" "But did you invest in the $20 Erewhon strawberry?" "When I was little growing up in Japan, people would cut the musk melon in half, gut the seeds out, and pour whiskey in it and eat it like that, which was like this luxurious dessert!!" "In India, our concept of a melon is this musk melon!! It also grows here domestically. It's a very common fruit here, you get one for like 50-60 rupees, which is less than a dollar! We're living the good fruit life." Before this, a video about a special tomato apparently costing around Rs 1300 went viral on social media. Read the full story here.
