The IPL final – RCB vs PBKS – is underway at the Modi Stadium. Here's how to watch and Punjab choose to bat first. Here's out full guide to where to watch the IPL final live stream online right now as the T20 showdown commences.

Both sides finished the league phase with identical records, but Punjab took top billing by virtue of their marginally superior NRR (0.372 to 0.301). However, Bengaluru mauled them in Qualifier 1, as Shreyas Iyer's men badly misinterpreted the batting conditions.
PBKS were bowled out for 101 in 14.1 overs, Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood taking three wickets apiece, and RCB needed just 10 overs to complete the chase. It's gone down in the books as the biggest thrashing in the history of the IPL playoffs.
Iyer, however, is no fool. He's the first player to have led three different teams to the IPL final, and he dazzled in Punjab's redemptive Qualifier 2 victory over the Mumbai Indians. For all of his accomplishments, however, it's his opposite number who stands to be the story of the IPL final.
Virat Kohli, who at 36 is in the twilight of his career, has spent all 18 seasons of the IPL with RCB. He's never been an IPL champion.

NI need 'more than one captain' - O'Neill

International Friendly: Denmark v Northern Ireland Venue: Parken Stadium, Copenhagen Date: Saturday, 7 June Kick-off: 18:00 BST Coverage: Watch live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two NI, listen on BBC Sounds and follow live text commentary & in-play clips on the BBC Sport website Advertisement Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says he sees "no reason" to appoint a permanent captain of the side at this stage after discussions with his squad. Jonny Evans retired from international football in August and O'Neill has since rotated through a number of options. Conor Bradley, Shea Charles, Daniel Ballard, Paddy McNair and Trai Hume have all led the side in the past year and the latter will again wear the armband in the friendly against Denmark in Copenhagen on Saturday. "It worked well for us in the Nations League, so we've no reason to address it at this minute in time," O'Neill said. Advertisement "What we're trying to get from this group of players is a number of leaders, not just someone that has the captaincy for a long period of time. "The captain wears the armband, but you need more than one captain on the pitch, and I think the way we've handled that and the way the players have handled that in terms of sharing that responsibility has been a positive. "Having had the conversations with the players that have had that honour to captain the country, they feel it's a good thing as well." With San Diego FC defender Paddy McNair, who has won 75 caps for his country, withdrawing through injury, Millwall midfielder George Saville is the only player in Northern Ireland's squad over the age of 30. Advertisement Hume, 23, feels the age profile of the squad lends itself to using different players in the role. "It's probably easier to share the leadership around the group than it is for one person to take full responsibility," said the full-back who will also lead the side against Iceland in Belfast on Tuesday. "I think as a young group we probably need that. We spoke about it and it's easier to do it that way. "There's a lot of leaders within the team, not just myself." Hume previously captained the team in the Nations League against Luxembourg and Bulgaria in September but said he did not feel the role changed his approach. Advertisement "Obviously, you're wearing the armband, you're leading the team out and you're proud to do so, but I don't see it as anything different than what I would already give to the team and give to the squad," he added. "I'll just take it in my stride and just keep doing what I'm doing." Having gained promotion through the Championship play-offs alongside his international team-mate Ballard, the Sunderland duo will bolster Northern Ireland's Premier League representation next season. Of O'Neill's squad, only Liverpool's Conor Bradley and Crystal Palace's Justin Devenny featured in England's top tier during the 2024-25 season. Advertisement Hume joined the Black Cats from Linfield when they were a League One side in 2022 having also represented Ballymena United in the Irish Premiership. "I think Trai is a great example to all the young players that there is no set pathway or journey to get to be an international footballer," said O'Neill. "You don't have to be at Liverpool or Manchester United at 15 or 16 to have that pathway. Trai came down a different route through our own domestic league. "For me Trai is probably more like the lads that used to be in the squad when I was in it. Modern footballers get caught up in a lot of stuff. Trai doesn't seem to be fazed by any of that which is quite refreshing."

Mitchell Starc goes public with sad news after difficult decision with wife

Mitchell Starc has admitted he's realistic that his career in the prestigious IPL might be over after flying home early from the tournament with wife Alyssa Healy last month. Starc and Healy were among dozens of Aussies who flew home from India when the IPL was suspended in May due to tensions with neighbouring Pakistan. The T20 tournament eventually resumed, but Starc and fellow Aussie Jake Fraser-McGurk chose not to return for the Delhi Capitals. Healy, who was in India supporting her husband, later revealed harrowing details of the situation, which saw a game in Dharamshala abandoned mid-match because of air strikes nearby. Speaking for the first time since deciding not to return to India, Starc said on Friday he's at peace with the fact he might never play in the IPL again. IPL franchises aren't known to react well when players leave the tournament early or withdraw. 'I'm comfortable with my decision and how I felt about the whole situation and how it was handled,' Starc told , revealing he'd expressed concerns about going ahead with the game in Dharamshala before it had to be abandoned. 'That's why I made my decision post-that, and my focus changed to red-ball cricket for about a week prior to coming over here (to Lord's for the World Test Championship final). Time will tell with repercussions or how it looks with guys that didn't return. But I've had my questions and concerns leading into that game, and obviously we saw what happened, which played a part in my decision." Starc also confirmed that he pulled out of the recent Champions Trophy ODI tournament due to concerns he held about playing in Pakistan. Whether IPL franchises will be willing to offer him contracts in the future remains to be seen, but the 35-year-old has shown in the past he doesn't really care for the riches on offer in T20 leagues. Starc has famously missed out on around $10 million throughout his career by prioritising family time with wife Alyssa and keeping his body fresh to play for Australia, rather than playing in the IPL. But he was quick to point out on Friday that he's always given 100 per cent to IPL franchises he's played for. 'These are different circumstances," he said. 'It was more a question of not having enough information leading into making a decision [about] things of that degree. I had a discussion back home then came to a decision, and whatever comes from that I'm comfortable with that and we move forward.' RELATED: Cricket world stunned as rival joins Glenn Maxwell in immediate exit Marnus Labuschagne cops brutal new blow amid calls for Test axing Healy had previously opened up the scary situation that unfolded in Dharamshala, in northern India near the Pakistan border. 'It was a surreal experience," she said on the 'Willow Talk' podcast. "All of a sudden a couple of the light towers went out and we were just sitting there up the top waiting … we're a large group of family and extra support staff. And the next minute the guy who wrangles the group of us and gets us on the bus came up and his face was white. He was like, 'we need to go right now'. 'Then (another) guy came out and his face was white and he grabbed one of the children and said, 'we need to leave right now.' We were like, 'what's going on?' We weren't told anything. We had no idea. 'I said to Mitch, 'what's going on?' He said the town 60km away had just been smacked by some of the missiles so there was a complete blackout in the area. That's why the lights were off because the Dharamshala stadium was like a beacon at that point in time. All of a sudden we're crammed into vans and off we go back to the hotel. There was madness.' Healy said they took a five-and-a-half-hour bus ride and six-hour train trip the following day back to Delhi, which took them uncomfortably close to the Pakistan border. 'There was a lot of anxiety around the Australian group because we didn't have a whole heap of information as to what was going on," she added. "That's probably been the really interesting and probably the scariest part of this whole situation is the misinformation."
