POLICE NEWS: Two injured in chain-reaction crash in Goshen
A chain-reaction crash on U.S. 33 at Madison Street injured two people at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a report from Goshen police, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Raul Velez, 52, Goshen, was stopped in traffic on U.S. 33 waiting to turn left when it was rear ended by a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The driver of the truck Richard Leming, 71, Goshen, apparently had a diabetic episode at the time, Goshen paramedics told police. The impact between the two trucks pushed the Silverado into the back of a stopped 2009 Ford Edge driven by Jodi Duncan, 41, Goshen, who was also stopped waiting to turn left. She was not injured.
Leming suffered a laceration to the back of his left hand, a minor laceration to the top of his head and pain from his seatbelt.
Velez had pain to the back of his head.
Both men were taken to Goshen Hospital for treatment.
HIT-AND-RUN
A 77-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday that he was crashed into near Kercher Road and Messick Drive.
SEX CRIME
A man reported to Elkhart County deputies on Monday that his 15-year-old sister-in-law was threatened by another teen to release nude photos. It was later discovered the photos had allegedly been sent to other teens via SnapChat.
CHILD ABUSE
The Department of Child Services requested that the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office complete a standby for a DCS case about abuse of a child on Tuesday.
THEFT
A 26-year-old man and 33-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 11:32 a.m. Tuesday someone taking medication from the breakroom of Keystone 702, 2525 Linden Drive.
OFFICERS REPORT
A woman reported to Goshen police on Tuesday that someone she knew was taking her 15-year-old to be a tattoo, causing her child to be incorrigible.
FRAUD
A 42-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that between April 1-28 fraud was committed.

Two people dead in Upper Centennial Parkway crash
Two people are dead after an overnight three-vehicle collision on Upper Centennial Parkway between Mud Street East and Green Mountain Road. The crash happened just after midnight Sunday, according to Hamilton Police. A 2014 F-150 pick-up truck and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up were southbound on Upper Centennial when the F-150 collided with the Silverado then hit a northbound 2015 Kia Sorento head-on. The driver and passenger in the Sorento were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the F-150 was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Silverado driver was not injured. The scene was closed for 10 hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated, according to police. Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward. Motorists are asked to check their dash cameras for video of the crash and residences or businesses in the area are requested to check surveillance cameras for video of the incident. Top Scottish caddie avoids jail for sexual communications with child A top Scottish golf caddie who told a 14-year-old that he would have sex with her avoided jail earlier this month. Daniel Mulvey, 35, sent a string of messages to his victim on the social media app Snapchat in July 2023. He had earlier met the girl and her friend near Glasgow's TRNSMT music festival, where he asked for her details. Mulvey, of West Kilbride, North Ayrshire, then contacted her that night to tell her that he would have sex with her. When informed of her age, Mulvey told the girl that he "actually didn't care" and wanted to "be your first." He was snared after the girl's "concerned" aunt secretly recorded the conversation. Mulvey was regarded in the top bracket of his profession, having worked alongside stars such as Gary Player. Mulvey has caddied at major tournaments such as The Open and the DP World Tour. He has also been pictured alongside U.S. President Donald Trump and golf legend Padraig Harrington. Mulvey's illustrious career faces ruin after he pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to a single charge of sending written sexual communications to the girl. Sheriff Iain Fleming ordered Mulvey to do 150 hours of unpaid work at his sentencing on May 23. Mulvey was also put on the sex offenders register and under supervision for 18 months. Mulvey was given a police escort from court after he was berated by members of the public as he initially tried to leave the building. The court earlier heard that the girl and her friend met Mulvey while they took shelter from heavy rain near the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow Green. The girl did not tell Mulvey her age of name but he "believed her to be slightly older." Mulvey gave the girl his mobile phone and asked for her Snapchat username. She passed him the details and she left the scene without meeting again. The girl went to her aunt's house later that night. Her aunt noticed that the girl was communicating on Snapchat with someone called 'Dan.' The aunt became 'concerned' and discreetly recorded the conversation on her mobile phone. The girl later told her aunt that she met Mulvey at TRNSMT. Mulvey stated to the girl that he 'honestly' would have sex with her, and he 'meant it.' He added: 'I can't stop looking at your pictures, I'm in bed thinking about you.' When the girl told Mulvey that she was 14 years old, he replied: 'Actually don't care that you are 14 by the way, you are so good.' The chat continued into the early hours of the morning when Mulvey asked if she was a virgin. He also stated: 'I want to be your first.' The matter was reported to the police and officers were able to link the phone number and email on the Snapchat account to Mulvey. Mulvey was arrested by police at Manchester Airport on December 14 and taken to a police office in Glasgow.

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to 135 years in prison after he sexually abused a young boy from Washington Parish. According to the Office of District Attorney Collin Sims, 28-year-old Benjamin Hart began talking to a then-10-year-old boy over Xbox online back in 2020, with communication eventually being moved to Snapchat, where Hart sent the boy an explicit image of himself.
