Reports: WR DJ Chark to sign with Falcons

Miami Herald4 days ago
Free agent wide receiver DJ Chark will reportedly sign with Atlanta after visiting the Falcons on Friday, according to multiple reports.
The move comes a week after Chark visited with the Chicago Bears.
Chark spent the past three seasons with three different teams after playing his first four campaigns in Jacksonville.
He was a second-round pick by the Jaguars in 2018 and made the Pro Bowl with a 1,008-yard season in 2019.
Chark caught just four passes for 31 yards and one touchdown in seven games with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024.
As NFL teams reported for training camp last week, Chark said he was still weighing his options.
"It depends," he said, per NFL Network. "It will have to be something that makes sense, from a family perspective and also from an X's and O's perspective. Getting up and going to any team just for the excitement -- I'll always love the game, but at this point, putting myself and my family in a great position is what's ideal for me."
Chark has 216 catches for 3,100 yards and 24 TDs in 76 games (51 starts) for the Jaguars (2018-21), Detroit Lions (2022), Carolina Panthers (2023) and Chargers.

Stefon Diggs already provided one Patriots rookie with his welcome to the NFL moment

FOXBOROUGH — New England Patriots rookie Craig Woodson's 'welcome to the NFL' moment came early in his career. And luckily, it occurred during practice rather than a game. After Tuesday's padded training camp practice, Woodson spoke with reporters about a particular play that involved four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs. 'Stefon got over me. I gotta have better leverage on that,' Woodson said. 'Plays like that let me know I'm here, this is the NFL, everybody's good. So I've just got to be on my 'A' game.' And the quarterbacks are also giving him a wake-up call. "One thing I've learned is that these quarterbacks, they are good," Woodson said of his first NFL training camp. "They can make those throws from sideline to sideline, so I have to have that range." Woodson was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft out of the University of California. For his final three years with the Golden Bears, Woodson had a starting role. Specifically in 2024, he recorded 45 solo tackles, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups across 13 games. And he credits his time at Cal for helping prepare him for the NFL. "Cal really prepared me for this moment. We did a lot of coverage and different things," Woodson explained. "So I think just having that comfortability from college and then coming here just helps." Congratulations Pouring In For NFL Legend Michael Vick

Congratulations Pouring In For NFL Legend Michael Vick originally appeared on The Spun. It's the start of a new era for legendary NFL QB Michael Vick. After changing the game with his dynamic running ability and opening the door for players like Lamar Jackson to thrive, the former Falcons/Eagles quarterback is continuing his redemption arc by going back to school — only this time as a coach. Back in December, the four-time Pro Bowler was named the head football coach at HBCU Norfolk State — a 40 minute drive from his hometown of Newport News. Taking to social media on Monday, Vick shared a portrait in his new team colors with the caption: "Year 1." Fans were hyped in the comments. "Let's go! Chess not checkers!!!" Cynthia Frelund replied. "Crazy how this played out," a user said. "I still remember sitting at the lunch table discussing your rookie year when I was young." "Lets Go Vick!!!" ex-wideout Jacquez Green exclaimed. "Best of luck to you this season Coach Vick🫶🏽" a fan posted. "I will be at Norfolk homecoming this year. 100%" an alum commented. "We all rooting for you 🫡" a student saluted. "Go Be Great. 🐐" "I'm so happy for him🥹" another person shared. Vick retired from pro football in 2017 where he continued his advocacy against the animal cruelty that derailed the prime of his career and served as an analyst for FOX Sports. He also interned with Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs later that year where he was able to see the team at the beginning stages of its dynasty. "A prestigious HBCU with a rich athletics history, NSU provides a tremendous environment for students to reach their full potential on the field and just as importantly, in the classroom," Vick said after taking the job at Norfolk. "I am honored to join the Norfolk State family." Best of luck to Mike in his first stint as a head coach!Congratulations Pouring In For NFL Legend Michael Vick first appeared on The Spun on Jul 28, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 28, 2025, where it first appeared.

Trey Hendrickson reporting to Cincinnati Bengals training camp

The Cincinnati Bengals finally came to terms with top draft pick Shemar Stewart on a deal to end the rookie edge rusher's holdout. Four days later, the franchise is one step closer to welcoming the top sack artist in the NFL back to the fold. Trey Hendrickson is ending his holdout and will report to Bengals training camp, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. This comes a week after the Bengals' veterans reported to training camp on July 22. Hendrickson is entering the final year of his contract and had not reported to training camp as he was seeking out a new deal. One week ago, Hendrickson had called the Bengals' latest offer "atrociously low" and did not seem any closer to ending his holdout. Hendrickson is set to make $16 million in 2025 in the final year of an extension he signed two years ago. Since signing that extension, he has led the NFL in sacks with 35, including a league-high 17.5 in 2024. He finished runner-up to Patrick Surtain II for the Defensive Player of the Year award. The most productive player on the Bengals' defense in recent years is entering his age-31 season after making the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons. "Trey Hendrickson is a fine player and a good guy," Bengals owner Mike Brown said on July 21. "We want him here. Dealing with him is sometimes not so easy. That's all right. He's got the right to argue his case, we'll try to make sense of it from our perspective ... as far as I'm concerned, the sooner the better." Brown reiterated that the team is not interested in trading Hendrickson away. "We are working on getting it done," Brown said. "We've been through a few — and he pushes hard, he gets emotional. We never have an easy time of it. And if there's one thing that is consistent, it always gets done. I think this one will too.' Many other edge rushers — including some in his own division — have signed extensions this offseason, including Myles Garrett (Cleveland) and T.J. Watt (Pittsburgh). Those two deals reset the market for edge rushers and at an average annual value (AAV) of $40 million and $41 million, respectively, per OverTheCap.
