IMC begins construction of link road to streamline traffic
Indore Municipal Corporation
(IMC) on Friday launched the construction of a link road to connect MR 10 to MR 12 in Sanwer at a cost of Rs 32 crore.
The road, constructed under special central assistance, is expected to reduce traffic load from MR 10 and MR 12 (Kumedi-Bhangia villages) and facilitate thousands of commuters traveling to/from the Indore-Ujjain highway, AB Road, and towards Dewas naka.
Cabinet minister Tulsiram Silawat and mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava inaugurated the construction work of the new road that falls under the
Sanwer assembly constituency
. At the beginning of the event, the participants paid tribute to the citizens who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam (J&K) by observing a two-minute silence.
"This groundbreaking ceremony is a symbol of development, but at a time when the nation is in mourning, we are not celebrating, but rather beginning this work with resolve," the Mayor said. He further informed that the construction of 23 major roads under the Indore city Master Plan has commenced simultaneously, with a total cost of Rs 450 crore. According to Bhargava, compared to Indore's current population, the water supply is half of what is needed. "The target is to ensure an additional supply of 900 MLD of water in the coming years, which will meet the future needs of the city," he said, adding that a provision of Rs 5 crore has been made in the budget to accelerate development in the 29 villages included within the municipal corporation limits.

They will bring in over Rs 4,000 crore annually as free power to the state and Rs 750 crore to support local area development,' he said. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio said resolving the Naga political issue remained his top priority. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the state aspired to become a $100 billion economy by 2047, while Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha appealed to the youth to 'unleash their passion for a developed India, dream big, and shape a glorious future.'

Tiruppur exporters seek relief from CM after US imposes 50% tariff on Indian goods
TIRUPPUR: Exporters from Tiruppur met Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday, seeking urgent relief measures after US President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on goods exported from India to the US from August 27. Knitwear exports from Tiruppur to the US are worth Rs 2,000 crore, with the US accounting for nearly 35% of the district's total exports of Rs 44,747 crore in the last financial year. Tiruppur Exporters' Association (TEA) leaders warned that US buyers have begun asking exporters to hold previously placed orders due to the higher duty, potentially leading to company closures and job losses. They requested a two-year moratorium on MSME exporters' loan repayments, a special emergency credit facility, subsidies to access alternative markets, reinstatement of the 5% interest subvention scheme, separate banking policies for MSMEs, and liberalised import norms for synthetic yarn. TEA joint secretary Kumar Duraiswamy said the tariff will severely impact Tiruppur's 10 lakh workers, 2,500 companies, and 20,000 ancillary units, forcing heavy discounts and shipment delays. The Chief Minister assured that steps would be taken on their demands.

Ration cards will be given to all those eligible: Ponnam
Siddipet: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar conveyed greetings to people of the State on the 79th Independence Day and stated that ration cards will be distributed to every eligible person. He mentioned that under the scheme of free bus travel for women in RTC, 200 crore passengers have travelled so far. At the I-Day celebrations in Siddipet Police Commissionerate on Friday, Ponnam unfurled the national flag. Afterwards, he received the police guard of honour. The minister announced that 3,500 Indiramma houses will be sanctioned for the constituency, and financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be provided. He added that within nine days, crop investment support of Rs 9,000 crore has been given to farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Ponnam stated that a Kabaddi Academy will soon be established in Husnabad. He emphasised that for State's future to be bright, every person must stand by the government.
