Gas station explodes in Rome, injuring at least 9 first responders
A gas station exploded early on Friday in southeastern Rome, injuring at least nine people including eight police officers and a firefighter, police and rescuers said. The explosion was heard across the Italian capital shortly after 8 a.m., sending up a huge cloud of dark smoke and fire visible from several areas of the city. Elisabetta Accardo, a spokesperson for the Roman police, said that eight police officers were injured after arriving for rescue operations. 'There were a few chain explosions after the first one,' Accardo told Italian state broadcaster RAI. 'All the policemen injured suffered burns, but they are not in danger of life.' Fire department spokesperson Luca Cari said one firefighter was also injured in the explosion, but 'not seriously.' Ten teams were at work on the site, he added. Police said they were checking the whole surrounding area for people who were injured or trapped in nearby buildings. There was no immediate indication of the cause of the explosion.

Lawyers for "Jane Doe" state the case is about "institutional abuse at the highest level". They are seeking compensation on her behalf. According to LA Times, CAA said it first heard of the woman's allegations last year when her lawyers made settlement demands - and the press inquired."While the complaint attempts to connect these allegations to CAA's business, Ms Doe has never been an employee, consultant, or contractor of CAA, ICM, or Stellar, nor has she ever had any business connection to CAA, ICM, or Stellar," CAA said in its statement. "CAA takes any allegations of this nature seriously, and through counsel, promptly urged Ms Doe to contact law enforcement in the United Kingdom."

Man arrested after 'gas leak' evacuation of 20 homes in Rotherham
A man has been arrested following the evacuation of 20 homes in Yorkshire Police said emergency services were called to Gerard Road just before 20:30 BST on Thursday to reports of a concern for safety.A police spokesperson said it was later reported there had been a gas leak at one of the properties, prompting the evacuation of nearby houses.A 36-year-old man continues to be held on suspicion of arson/criminal damage with intent to endanger life, they added.
