Miami Beach is full of new restaurants. Here's a guide to some of the latest openings

Restaurants are constantly opening in and around Miami, but Miami Beach in particular has seen a riot of new spots over the past several months. Here are some new additions to the culinary scene in Miami Beach.
Andrés Carne de Res
Created by Andrés Jaramillo and his wife Maria Stella Ramirez, Andrés Carne de Res is open on Lincoln Road, serving up Colombian specialties, live music and entertainment and sharing a passion for Colombian culture. The 10,000-square-foot-restaurant, which seats 400, is a far cry from what started as a roadside hut in Chia in 1982 but grew into a riotous nightlife experience noted in 'The World's 50 Best Restaurants' guide.
The restaurant spreads across four floors. In the main dining room, diners can sample such Colombian cuisine as arepas, empanandas or lomo al trapo, beef tenderloin coated in salt, wrapped in a towel soaked in red wine and cooked directly over hot coals.

Aviv
One of the most anticipated new restaurants of 2025 opened its doors in Miami Beach.
Israeli-born chef Michael Solomonov, a five-time James Beard Award winner known for his award-winning Philadelphia restaurants, opened Aviv at 1 Hotel South Beach. The restaurant offers Israeli cuisine inspired by 17 years at Zahav, an Israeli gem considered to be one of the best restaurants in the country. But local influences will play a role in its development as the chefs are looking to Caribbean touches to make the menu standout. Chicken might be marinated with guava, for example. Key lime could find its way onto a dessert. And Solomonov will make use of South Florida fish like buttery pompano, a local delicacy he'll serve with sea bean tzatziki.

Japón
Already home to the Asian hot spot Jaya and the breezy outdoor Ocean Grill, The Setai, a Forbes Five-Star hotel that was voted the favorite resort in Miami by Travel + Leisure readers, opened a new Japanese restaurant Japón in October. Led by executive chef Vijayudu Veena, who's also the force behind Jaya, and executive sous chef Iván Monzón, Japón focuses on creating an air of luxury, with dishes that showcase Japan's cultural history.

The Joyce
A new hospitality group has opened two restaurants in one spot in Miami Beach, one for quick takeout, the other for more glamorous nights out.
Now open along that historic tourist magnet, Española Way, is The Joyce, a steakhouse with a dark, speakeasy-esque atmosphere. It's the first venture from the group Spicy Hospitality, which is made up of art collector Andre Sakhai, entrepreneur Marc Lotenberg and Chef James Taylor.
The menu at The Joyce includes seafood as well as steaks, including shrimp cocktail, crudo, a snapper filet sandwich and King Crab scampi, plus items like caviar and latkes. The cuts of meat include ribeye and A5 wagyu.

La Grande Boucherie
The huge, determinedly chic La Grande Boucherie, the giant Parisian bistro that's more than twice the size of most Parisian bistros, is open in Miami Beach's South of Fifth neighborhood. The concept from The Group Hospitality, which first opened in Manhattan in 2020, now has four New York restaurants, one in Chicago and another in Washington.
The South Beach La Grande Boucherie is the group's first restaurant in the South, and Group Hospitality founder Emil Stefkov said the brand is offering Miami the 'unique fusion of an indulgent steakhouse with the timeless charm of a refined Parisian brasserie.'

Margot Bar & Bistro
When they sold their beloved Miami Beach cocktail bar Broken Shaker to a European hotel brand, founders Elad Zvi and Gabriel Orta of Bar Lab Hospitality called it the end of an era. Now the new era is beginning, and Bar Lab is back on the beach.
Bar Lab is opening is Margot Bar & Bistro at Flamingo Towers near the Sunset Harbour neighborhood. The restaurant is a sister property to the group's Margot Natural Wine Bar in downtown Miami, which is known for its selection of natural wines and low-alcohol drinks.

Mimi Chinese
A Toronto-based restaurant group has opened its first spot outside Canada in — where else? — Miami Beach. The upscale, popular Mimi Chinese, a Michelin Guide-recognized restaurant from Big Hug Hospitality, is now open on Alton Road.
The menu emphasizes cuisine from the Guangdong, Sichuan, Hong Kong and Hunan regions of China, with a focus on tradition blended with a diverse approach. Expect to dine communally: Much of the menu is offered via large sharing plates, a nod to a key element of Chinese culture.

Motek
One of Miami's favorite Mediterranean restaurants has opened its new location in a prime Miami Beach spot. Motek, the brand that began modestly in Miami's Seybold Building in 2020, has taken over the former Prime Fish restaurant in the South of Fifth neighborhood, which closed in the spring of 2024.
One of the restaurant's special features is the Shabbat table in the second dining room, which can seat up to 20 diners. The menu features the dishes that have made Motek popular around Miami-Dade: shakshuka, hot and cold mezzes, a mouthwatering chicken schnitzel, lamb kebabs and baby lamb chops.

Oro
Another luxury rooftop restaurant is open on Miami Beach. From the Miami-based Golden Era Hospitality Group comes Oro, right next another glamorous dining spot, Mila, on Lincoln Road. Gold, not surprisingly, is the theme here ('oro' of course means 'gold' in Spanish). From its lavish entrance with golden arches to its cavernous dining room, which can seat more than 300 people, gold is everywhere, from the furnishings to the lighting. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, and a bar in each area.

Paya
The culinary team behind the Michelin Bib Gourmand Ghee Indian Kitchen in Kendall and the elegant Italian restaurant Erba in Coral Gables opened a new restaurant in Sunset Harbour. Paya is a celebration of island cuisine — specifically the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and the islands of Spain. Derived from the word 'papaya,' the name evokes tropical flavors and the elements chef Niven Patel and partner Mohamed Alkassar have become known for: fresh produce and herbs from Patel's Homestead farm, Rancho Patel, as well as other local farms.

Uchiko
One of Wynwood's most popular imports from Texas opened an outpost in Miami Beach. Uchiko, which translates as 'child of Uchi,' is a new evolution of Uchi, the famous Japanese restaurant from Austin, which opened in Wynwood in 2021. Uchiko is one of the first restaurants opening at the Eighteen Sunset development on Purdy Avenue in Miami Beach's Sunset Harbour neighborhood.
Led by Uchiko Austin's chef de cuisine Jacob Yoder, who will be running the kitchen at the Miami Beach restaurant, the menu highlights dishes cooked on the yakitori grill.
