Aggravated assault charges laid in road rage crash southwest of Edmonton: police

A Drayton Valley man has been charged in a crash that police are calling a road rage incident.
Police were called to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 22 on the south side of Drayton Valley at 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Mounties say the vehicles were travelling east when the crash happened and one rolled into the westbound ditch.
The driver of the vehicle in the ditch was extracted and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 55-year-old driver of the other vehicle was arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and aggravated assault.
He has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in Drayton Valley on June 17.
The highway was partially closed for several hours while police investigated.

Owen Sound Police arrived at the shop shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and found the front glass door had been smashed and stock inside the business had been destroyed. Police say merchandise had been taken including a high-end electric bicycle. Police then determined seven additional people entered the store after the initial break-and-enter and each of those people were responsible for stealing more items. On Monday and Tuesday, three of the people were located and arrested by police and held in custody pending bail hearings. A 33-year-old woman of no-fixed-address was charged with break, enter and committing theft, along with failing to comply with probation. A 55-year-old man of no-fixed-address was charged with break, enter and committing theft. A 38-year-old man of no-fixed-address was charged with break, enter and committing theft along with failing to comply with probation. Police expect to make more arrests and would like to speak with anyone who has information regarding the people responsible, as well as the whereabouts of the stolen property. Kingston, Ont. police charge suspect after stabbing outside shelter

Police in Kingston, Ont. say a suspect has been charged after a stabbing near a local shelter last week. The incident happened June 13 at around 10:40 p.m. outside the shelter on Adelaide Street near Cowdy Street, police said. 'Through the course of investigation, it was determined that the victim, who had arrived at the property approximately five minutes before the incident, was standing outside speaking with other individuals when the accused approached him from the rear and assaulted him with an edged weapon,' Kingston police said in a news release. The victim was treated in hospital for serious injuries. Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other, but the suspect had already left by the time police arrived that night. The 45-year-old suspect was arrested on Princess Street two days later. The accused is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.
