Centurion Chancellor releases book by word analyst Narasimham on English language

Centurion University Chancellor G.S.N. Raju on Monday released a book titled 'A Different Approach to Learn English with Fun' written by word analyst R.U. Narasimham at a programme organised in SITAM College, Vizianagaram. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raju said adoption of new and easy techniques would make everyone learn proficiency in English language and exhorted the students to strive hard to get command over the language to excel in their career. SITAM College Chairperson Botcha Jhansi and Director Majji Sasibhusana Rao said that the college had established English language Clubs to make learning the language easier for the students. JNTU-GV Registrar G. Jaya Suma, Visakha Samskruti Editor Sirela Sanyasi Rao, College Principal D.V. Ramanamurthy and others were present.

L ucknow: Aimed at highlighting the role and legacy of the Anglo-Indian community in Lucknow, a social awareness group, Aadaab Arz Lucknow, organised a storytelling programme. The chief guests were former La Martiniere Boys' College principal Carlyle McFarland and Ian Shepherd of the Dignum Institute. McFarland recalled the community's history, its role in nursing and teaching, and traced its roots to European immigration during the British Raj, intermingling with Indians, and interfaith marriages. Kannada activist SR Sudarshan passes away

Mysuru: Kannada activist and academician SR Sudarshan, 73, passed away on Sunday morning. He is also one of the founders of Nrupatunga School in the city. He is survived by his daughter, Nudi Sudarshan, an engineer and artist. His body was donated to a hospital after a public homage. Sudarshan, who was part of the Gokak movement, was arrested for taking part in the agitation. He had completed MSc in Geology. He also secured 3rd rank at the University of Mysore in MSc Geology by writing the examination in Kannada. Later, he also wrote the LLB examination in Kannada. He penned several science books in Kannada, besides editing an abridged version of the Kannada-English dictionary of the University of Mysore. His English-Kannada dictionary was reprinted 15 times, reflecting its popularity. Sudarshan was a member of the Karnataka Science Academy, known for his pro-Kannada works in the state.
