Steelers' hilarious Bill Cowher and James Harrison story resurfaces
The hilarious back-and-forth between Steelers legendary HC Bill Cowher and DC Dick LeBeau in trying to get James Harrison off the field has resurfaced — and it's still just as funny almost four years later.
The clip in question, from A Football Life: James Harrison, retells a 2004 story in which OLB Joey Porter was ejected during pre-game warmups against the Browns, giving Harrison his first starting opportunity — one that Cowher claims he refused to leave the field on:
"[LeBeau] goes, 'Coach, [Harrison] won't come out,'" Cowher said. "I go, 'Make him come out.' He goes, 'You make him come out. He won't come out.' I go, 'No, I'm not making him come out.' I said, 'He already told me he wasn't coming out either.' So I said, 'We both got the same dilemma.' I said, 'Just let him play. I've already cut the guy three times — I'm not going to tell him to come out of the game. I've already done that. I'm done cutting the guy.'"
Harrison's drive and desire to be great — as evident in Cowher's hilarious retelling — is why the legendary defender will one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year, four-time All-Pro, and two-time Super Bowl champion was nothing short of excellent.

Eagles' leaders sought advice from an NFL legend on staying motivated after the Super Bowl
Eagles' leaders sought advice from an NFL legend on staying motivated after the Super Bowl Philadelphia is looking to maintain their edge and star TE Dallas Goedert says he and 10-15 Eagles on the leadership council spoke with 2 time Super Bowl champ Peyton Manning The Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions. Like any title holder, Philadelphia is looking to maintain its competitive edge in a conference with the Commanders, Vikings, Lions, Rams, and others among the biggest threats to the crown. Star tight end Dallas Goedert sat down with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia and detailed a meeting between legendary quarterback Peyton Manning and the Eagles leadership council. The topic at hand centered around techniques and advice for maintaining that competitive edge that's so desperately needed. 'I would just say that it takes the work every day and you have to find little nuances,' Goedert said to Clark. 'One thing I found was interesting was he would make fake quotes and put them in the locker room because nobody was saying that they were bad or they could beat them so he put, '(my receiver) can't get off of press' and he'd put that in his receiver's locker. 'Are you serious? He said that?' And it's just finding different ways to keep yourself motivated when the negative isn't coming at you.' Manning won two Super Bowls ( 2006 with the Colts and 2015 with the Broncos) and was a postseason participant in 15 of his 17 NFL seasons. Goedert's story is similar to Jalen Hurts' moments of insight that he's received from Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan following the Super Bowl win. You can see Goedert's entire interview on the NBC Sports Philadelphia YouTube page.

Former Steelers Alan Faneca and Troy Polamalu make ESPN All Quarter Century Team
Former Steelers Alan Faneca and Troy Polamalu make ESPN All Quarter Century Team Looking back over the last 25 years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had so many great players, it's hard to narrow down the best. But ESPN undertook the daunting task of doing it for the entire league and put together their All Quarter Century teams for offense and defense. They named one Steeler legend on each side of the football to the team. On offense, Alan Faneca made it as one of two left guards. He shared the distinction with Steven Hutchinson. Here's what they had to say about Faneca. A stalwart at left guard for the Steelers before late-career spells with the Jets and Cardinals, Faneca missed only one game from 2000 on -- and that was due to rest in a meaningless Week 17 contest in 2001. His six first-team All-Pro selections are more than any other left guard this quarter century. Moving to defense, edge defender T.J. Watt got snubbed but safety Troy Polamalu was there as the team's strong safety. He joined Ed Reed, Brian Dawkins and Earl Thomas as the four safeties. This was how they broke down Polamalu's career. Polamalu flying all over the field epitomized what NFL teams began prioritizing with modern safeties. He is fifth among safeties with 103 passes defensed since 2000. He also had 80 run stops (tackles to stop runs short of a successful play), which is third among all defensive backs since 2000.

Florida 'on top' for 4-star OT after official visit
Florida 'on top' for 4-star OT after official visit Mount Carmel High School (Chicago) offensive tackle Claude Mpouma has Florida leading his recruitment after an official visit to The Swamp over the weekend. "On top," Mpouma said to Swamp247. "I mean, it's Florida... I just feel comfortable over here. I feel like I'm home. So that's probably a big thing for me." The 6-foot-7-inch, 308-pound Cameroon native made his second trip to Gainesville on Friday and stayed through Sunday for a closer look at the program. He spent time with position coaches John DeCoster and Rob Sale, strengthening an already established relationship. Florida overtook Auburn in the race for Mpouma, but recency bias seems to be a factor with his recruitment. He'll be at Nebraska this upcoming weekend and could decide that, although no timeline has been laid out just yet. Recruiting Summary Recruiting Service Star Rating Natl. Rank Pos. "Light on his feet and will find ways to cover the corner with his raw athleticism as he can dance to the tune of different pass rushers. Plays a bit upright at times, but has displayed the ability to get low in a three-point stance. More notably, can fire off the ball with some urgency when convicted in his assignment." "Lacks play strength at this stage and can struggle with power-based defenders. Also needs instruction in how to get the most out of his long levers. Will be a longer burn as he's still in the early stages of his development, but should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff hopeful that will have a chance to man the left side of the line with his reach and fluidity. Could certainly outplay his projection if he flips the switch in the run game."
