Florida 'on top' for 4-star OT after official visit
Mount Carmel High School (Chicago) offensive tackle Claude Mpouma has Florida leading his recruitment after an official visit to The Swamp over the weekend.
"On top," Mpouma said to Swamp247. "I mean, it's Florida... I just feel comfortable over here. I feel like I'm home. So that's probably a big thing for me."
The 6-foot-7-inch, 308-pound Cameroon native made his second trip to Gainesville on Friday and stayed through Sunday for a closer look at the program. He spent time with position coaches John DeCoster and Rob Sale, strengthening an already established relationship.
Florida overtook Auburn in the race for Mpouma, but recency bias seems to be a factor with his recruitment. He'll be at Nebraska this upcoming weekend and could decide that, although no timeline has been laid out just yet.

Scouting Report
"Green offensive tackle that lacks game reps, but one with a monster ceiling given the rare physical features and quick movement patterns," 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins said in a June scouting report. "Light on his feet and will find ways to cover the corner with his raw athleticism as he can dance to the tune of different pass rushers. Plays a bit upright at times, but has displayed the ability to get low in a three-point stance. More notably, can fire off the ball with some urgency when convicted in his assignment."
"Lacks play strength at this stage and can struggle with power-based defenders. Also needs instruction in how to get the most out of his long levers. Will be a longer burn as he's still in the early stages of his development, but should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff hopeful that will have a chance to man the left side of the line with his reach and fluidity. Could certainly outplay his projection if he flips the switch in the run game."

Cowboys likely delaying this $40 million annual investment for a reason
Cowboys likely delaying this $40 million annual investment for a reason For the Dallas Cowboys, re-signing Micah Parsons to a new multiyear deal should be a no-brainer. In just four years the former first-round pick has established himself as one of the NFL's most feared pass rushers. Parsons' presence on the field has a ripple effect across the defense. Offenses have to scheme and strategize how to neutralize the 26-year-old playmaker, limiting options offensively and creating opportunities for teammates on defense in the process. He adds value to others and that's darn near priceless. Darn near. After Myles Garrett inked a four-year extension over the offseason the market on a top tier pass-rusher sits at $40 million annually. This is something Parsons knows quite well as does owner Jerry Jones. Rumors of a general agreement have been running rampant for quite a while now, yet no announcement has been made and a contract has yet to be signed. This state of limbo is causing fans to squirm and the media to speculate. There's no saying for sure exactly what the holdup is in this situation but there are a few pretty clear reasons as to why a done deal would take so long to become official. Or perhaps I should say $332,000 reasons. Every day a dollar stays in Jones' portfolio is a potential for profit for the Cowboys owner. Based on estimates from Investopedia, an investment of $40 million stands to make an average of 10% in annual profit. That equates to 0.83% profit per month and a $332,000 monthly return. That may not sound like much for a billionaire like Jones but that adds up. Looking back at the negotiations between CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, in both instances the market had been set and salary parameters were outlined far in advance, yet the Cowboys took their time, preferring to wait until the eleventh hour to make it official. All that time the money was working for Jones. There may be other details to iron out and other factors in play but Jones clearly likes to hold onto his money as long as humanly possible and it's not hard to see why. Arizona Cardinals named 1 of NFL's most improved teams in offseason
Arizona Cardinals named 1 of NFL's most improved teams in offseason listed the seven most improved teams this offseason. The Cardinals make the cut. The Arizona Cardinals, coming off an 8-9 season in 2024, made great strides in improving their roster this offseason. Almost all their offseason additions, both in free agency and the 2025 NFL draft focused on their defense. With their moves, they were named one of the seven most improved teams by Nick Shook. Like another team on this list (New England), Arizona had some money to spend and needs to address. That's how the Cardinals landed edge rusher Josh Sweat, reuniting him with Jonathan Gannon, who helped Sweat enjoy his best seasons in Philadelphia while serving as the Eagles' defensive coordinator. DE Calais Campbell returns to the team with which he spent the first nine seasons of his career. He provides a veteran presence, as does Dalvin Tomlinson, helping to revamp the defensive front in one offseason. Rookie DT Walter Nolen (drafted 16th overall) will play a part, too, along with CB Will Johnson, a first-round talent who slid into Round 2 (No. 47) because of concerns about his knee, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, though Johnson later said he's healthy. Keep an eye on linebacker Cody Simon, who enters the NFL as a fourth-round pick (No. 115) after enjoying an incredible run through the College Football Playoff with Ohio State, starring in a dominant Rose Bowl win over Oregon and juicing his draft stock along the way. Arizona's offense was solid in 2024. It was their defense that needed work. They were bad at stopping the run, sacking the quarterback and forcing turnovers. With their added talent up front, they should both be better against the run and produce more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. That should lead to more takeaways. Looking back at the 2021 season, their first-half success was because the defense was better than advertised, which improved the offense, which, in turn, made it harder to run against them. The offense is largely unchanged in terms of personnel in 2025, but the defense, with major additions to every level, should be much improved. The other teams named with the Cardinals are the most improved were the Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots and New York Jets. Duke quarterback commit explains why he picked the Blue Devils
Duke quarterback commit explains why he picked the Blue Devils Terry Walker III has been committed to the Duke Blue Devils since April and he is currently representing them at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles. The three-star quarterback is competing to be crowned the MVP of the prestigious quarterback competition. Tom Loy of 247Sports asked about why he committed to Duke, and he quickly pointed out the culture and success quarterbacks have had under offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jonathan Brewer. "It's a great culture," he explained. "When you go there, it just feels like home. I mean, talking with other guys that have been on the officials already, everybody's enjoyed their official. It just feels like home to everybody. And then Coach Brewer's done a great job with quarterbacks in the past. He had Kevin Jennings at SMU, who turned out to be great. When he pulls up that PowerPoint and shows you the guys that (he's coached), and tells you that you're going to be on that PowerPoint one day, like you're going to be their next guy. It's hard to pass up, they throw the ball downfield a lot. You know, Maalik Murphy had a great year with them, record-breaking year. Off the field stuff, just being at a prestigious school like Duke where academic-wise, it's probably one of the – if not the best non-Ivy League in the country, then one of the top three at least. So it's just a great school to be at and great people. It's just – it's a hard opportunity to pass up." Walker is coming off his first season as the full-time starter at Lawrence Central High School. In 10 games, he completed 46.3% (95-205) of his passes for 1,467 yards and 17 touchdowns against three interceptions. He also rushed the ball 48 times for 377 yards and four more touchdowns, averaging 7.9 yards per carry. With limited reps, and a 46.7% career completion percentage, Walker was a bit of an unknown at the event, but he impressed Andrew Ivins, 247Sports Director of Scouting. "We weren't sure what to expect from Walker as he's less than a 50 percent career passer, but he ended up being arguably the biggest surprise of the night. Walker showcased the ability to make advanced throws and tied Henderson with the best spin rate on the balls that were tracked. He might be a longer burn, but something is there." Walker is ranked as the No. 788 overall player and No. 45 quarterback in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is the No. 9 player from Indiana.
