'South Park' escalates war with Donald Trump in brutal new episode

"South Park" headed to Washington for its latest spoof of the Trump administration. The Comedy Central series' new episode "Sickofancy," which aired on Aug. 20, continued a season-long thread of mocking President Donald Trump and depicting him in a romantic relationship with Satan. In the episode, scenes at the White House show a long line of guests, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, lining up to meet with Trump and inflate his ego by presenting him with a gift, heaping him with over-the-top praise, and reassuring him about his physical endowment. Later, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is also seen bringing a gift to Trump, who verbally berates him. The main plot centers on Randy Marsh concocting a plan to grow his business by lobbying to change marijuana laws. So he sends Towelie, a talking towel, to Washington to meet with Trump and suck up to him. When Towelie arrives, he finds that statues of Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln have been replaced with statues of Trump, which undersells his manhood. In another scene, guests about to meet with Trump at the White House are told to "avoid staring directly into" it. The episode also features Satan speaking with ChatGPT about trying to get out of his relationship with Trump, only to determine that there is "no escape from this place." Vice President JD Vance makes another appearance during a bedroom scene between Trump and Satan, where he is again depicted as Trump's servant. When Towelie is in Washington, he finds the place is swarming with troops, though the episode doesn't delve into this further. Trump announced on Aug. 11 that he had deployed 800 National Guard troops to Washington, D.C, and seized control of the local Metropolitan Police Force, which he described as an effort to "rescue our nation's capital" from crime. According to data from the Metropolitan Police Department previously reported by USA TODAY, violent crime in Washington, D.C., dropped 26% through Aug. 8, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. With "Sickofancy," "South Park" kept up its satire of the Trump administration that has been a major part of its 27th season. In July, the series' buzzy Season 27 premiere, "Sermon on the 'Mount," introduced a new parody of Trump that used real photos of the president, crudely placed on an animated body. Trump was shown in the season premiere literally getting into bed with Satan in a way nearly identical to how "South Park" previously depicted Saddam Hussein. It was a notable shift in the way that "South Park," which has a reputation for ridiculing both sides of the political aisle, handled Trump. During the 2016 election, the show had one of its own characters, Mr. Garrison, run for president and serve as a stand-in for Trump, rather than focusing on the man himself. After uproar, 'South Park' pummels Trump again and hits at JD Vance, Kristi Noem The White House previously fired back at South Park's Season 27 premiere, with spokesperson Taylor Rogers saying in a statement to USA TODAY the show "hasn't been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention." But the show doubled down in the second episode of the season, which aired on Aug. 6 and featured the exact same rendition of Trump, who was once again shown as the lover of Satan. This time, the show also went after Vice President JD Vance. White House: 'South Park' hasn't 'been relevant for over 20 years' after Trump parody The Aug. 6 episode also mocked Immigration and Customs Enforcement's recruitment process. In the episode, school counselor Mr. Mackey loses his job and is instantly hired by ICE, despite his lack of qualifications. ICE agents were shown in the episode aggressively launching raids on a "Dora the Explorer" live show and even in heaven. The episode additionally skewered Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and featured her repeatedly shooting dogs, a reference to Noem's infamous anecdote about killing an "untrainable" family dog. When will the next episode of 'South Park' air? "South Park" is set to continue its Season 27 pattern of releasing one episode every two weeks. According to Comedy Central, the next episode of Season 27 will air on Wednesday, Sept. 3, followed by another episode two weeks later, on Sept. 17. Shakira Stuns in Metallic Pink Fringe-Covered Bikini

Shakira is enjoying some downtime! The "Hips Don't Lie" Singer was spotted lounging on a beach in Cabo, wearing a pink metallic bikini covered in beads and fringe. The Daily Mail has the exclusive pics, and honestly obsessed with everything happening in them. Side note: if Shakira's suit looks familiar, might be because it's similar to one she designed a couple years ago: FYI, Shakira is on a break from her hugely successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, which is about to kick off a series of dates in Mexico. She told The Sun that Beyoncé's shows actually helped inspire her to go on tour, saying "To see this place this packed, it's a dream for me. It's surreal. The last time I came to Hard Rock Stadium, I saw Beyonce's show and I said to myself, 'How amazing would it be if I could play the stadium one day?' How amazing that tonight, I'm here playing two stadiums. I have the best crowd in the world. You make all of my dreams come true." Shakira started her tour back in May, and told USA Today of performing live "There's no way out because the audience is right there and they are so immersed in the music and the connection is undeniable. The emotions we feel every night from joy, moments when we sing and dance and celebrate to moments where I see people emotional and crying and remembering moments in their own life. It's more than a concert. It's not about my ego. It's a community and a union and a dialogue between the audience and an artist that has dedicated her entire life to making music that has been the soundtrack to their lives. I feel this identification that is truly unique. I've never seen more loyal, more militant fans. They protect me against anyone and lift me up when I need them the most."

The new dating term 'Shrekking' sounds innocent. It's not what you think.

There's a new dating trend afoot — and experts say it needs to get sent back to Far Far Away. It's called 'Shrekking,' but don't be fooled. Though the term derives its name from the wholesome animated film 'Shrek,' in the dating world, it's anything but charming. 'Shrekking' involves dating someone you're not attracted to in the hopes that this person will treat you better in return. After all, Princess Fiona took a chance on Shrek, and that turned out great for her, right? Unfortunately, when you get "Shrekked," it means the person you lowered your standards for still ended up hurting you. As Amy Chan, a dating coach and the author of "Breakup Bootcamp: The Science of Rewiring Your Heart," puts it: "In this plotline, you're dating an ogre without the princess treatment." "The term might be new, but the behavior isn't," she says. "Plenty of people have put looks lower on the list or hoped attraction would grow over time, and that in itself isn't a bad thing. Where it backfires is when someone assumes that just because they're dating 'down' in looks, they'll automatically be treated better." The fact the term is even getting used at all, Chan says, speaks to just how complicated dating has become and how frustrated people are with it. The problem with 'Shrekking' "Shrekking" may be a new addition to the modern dating lexicon, but it's long-been a universal experience. "We've all been there," one TikToker says in a video. "We give the guy we're not attracted to a chance thinking that he will for sure know what he has and treat us well. And then we get traumatized by a whole troll." What health & wellness means for you: Sign up for USA TODAY's Better Yet newsletter Chan says many young people are feeling disillusioned by dating. Young people especially are looking to synthesize their experiences and connect with people who've been through something similar, hence the new vocabulary of dating terms that keep cropping up. "Modern dating has gotten so complicated that we need new words just to describe what's happening to us," she says. "It's like we've made dating struggles part of our public conversation in a way that just didn't happen before." 'Banksying': This new dating trend is leaving people baffled and heartbroken When it comes to "Shrekking," the term shines a light on a few problems. First off, it implies daters should be able to predict how a potential partner will treat them based on what that person looks like. In reality, appearances don't reveal someone's character − and anyone who treats you poorly, no matter what they look like, should be seen as unattractive in your eyes, says Emma Hathorn, a relationship expert at Did you get shrekked? The other danger of "Shrekking" is the term may dissuade people from dating outside their usual type, out of fear that doing so is sure to end badly. That's also is not the case. More: Relationship experts say these common dating 'rules' are actually ruining your love life "The idea is that you stepped outside your comfort zone, but instead of being rewarded with growth or connection, you wound up regretting the experience," Hathorn says. "When two people are genuinely driven towards a similar goal and values, they can find an attraction in each other that surprises them and refutes the shallower factors like physical type and societal expectations." Get 'Shrekked'? Don't give up. If you've fallen into this mindset and gotten "Shrekked," Chan says not to give up or go back to dating only people who fall within narrow beauty standards. Instead, she says it's an opportunity to get even clearer on what your non-negotiables are for a partner, no matter what they look like. "For those who've been 'Shrekked,' the goal isn't to retreat back to only dating conventionally attractive people; it's to develop better assessment skills for character, values and emotional availability regardless of what package they come in," Chan says. "Physical attraction matters in romantic relationships, but it shouldn't be the inverse predictor of good treatment that some people assume it to be."
