In just three brief seasons of 'And Just Like That …,' Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) became a widow, got back together with her ex-boyfriend from nearly 20 years ago and then broke up with him after flirting with the idea of moving to Virginia. And that's not even touching on the divorce and sexual exploration of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and the campaign by Charlotte (Kristin Davis) to defend the honor of her dog and, lest we forget, the start Hot Fellas bakery by Anthony (Mario Cantone). Last month, Michael Patrick King, the series' showrunner, writer and director, took to social media to announce that the show's third season would be its last. But in the 27 years since 'Sex and the City' premiered fans have gotten two movies and a reboot, so I have a feeling that Carrie won't be gone for good. Streaming Thursday at 9 p.m. on HBO Max.
Noah Hawley, the creator of Fargo, is steering away from the Midwest and into the future with his new series 'Alien: Earth.' The show acts as a prequel to the 1979 film 'Alien,' specifically set two years before the crew of the starship Nostromo awoke to a distressed alien signal. In this iteration, it is 2120 and the earth is controlled not by a government but by five megacorporations. One of the companies, Weyland-Yutani (mentioned in the films), commissions the crew from the spaceship Maginot to collect alien samples to research back on Earth. It ends up crashing in Southeast Asia, where the rival corporation Prodigy is making synthetic humans. Tuesday at 8 p.m. on FX and streaming on Hulu.

Flying With Delta? Crunchyroll Anime Is Coming to Your Flights
Crunchyroll and Delta Air Lines announced on Monday that they've partnered to offer anime as part of the airline's in-flight entertainment. The anime addition is set to arrive later this year, and Delta passengers will be able to stream content handpicked by Crunchyroll. SkyMiles members will receive an exclusive perk of a 24-hour free trial of the streaming service that can be used on the flight or after touching down. Crunchyroll will hit more than 169,000 seatback screens on Delta's aircraft, and this marks the first time the streamer has inked a deal with an airline. Delta currently offers a selection of streaming content from Paramount Plus, DirecTV and Spotify. While we don't know whether titles like Dan Da Dan, The Apothecary Diaries or Demon Slayer are guaranteed to be on flights, Crunchyroll said, "more details about what travelers can look forward to on their next flight will be shared closer to departure later this year." If you have SkyMiles, you'll be able to access the Crunchyroll app via your personal devices if you use Delta Sync Wi-Fi before and after traveling. That means you can check out anime movies and shows or play games during the trial period. Here's what to know to prepare for the year's biggest meteor shower. What is a meteor shower? Meteoroids are falling pieces of debris from comets and asteroids that, as they enter the Earth's atmosphere, turn into meteors, according to NASA. As meteors vaporize, their trails are visible from Earth, which is what we call 'shooting stars' or 'falling stars.' A meteor shower is what happens when there's a higher-than-usual number of meteors falling across the sky in a short period of time. Meteor showers happen at certain times throughout the year because comets also orbit the sun, so when a comet and the Earth cross paths, the Earth encounters a lot of the comet's debris, or meteoroids. What to know about the Perseids meteor shower The Perseids meteors leave particularly long, bright trails as they fall through Earth's atmosphere, with about 50 to 100 streaks expected to be visible every hour at its peak. The Perseids shower comes from comet 109/Swift-Tuttle, a comet that takes 133 years to orbit the sun and crosses the Earth's orbit once a year. The shower's name comes from the constellation Perseus, NASA explains, which is the point in the sky from which the Perseids meteors are visibly falling. Fireballs are also anticipated to appear throughout Tuesday night into Wednesday. 'Fireballs' is an astronomical term used by NASA to describe meteoroids that burst into bright colors while in the Earth's atmosphere, becoming more visible than average meteors. How to watch the Perseids meteor shower Northern Hemisphere residents will have the best Perseids views, NASA reports. But this year's shower does coincide with the rise of a waning gibbous moon, the phase between a full moon and a half moon, which could impact visibility, warned.
