Knicks Fans Enraged by Alleged Phantom Call Against Miles McBride Saturday
Knicks Fans Enraged by Alleged Phantom Call Against Miles McBride Saturday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Knicks trailed the Indiana Pacers by a score of 92-77 entering the fourth quarter of Saturday night's Game 6 in Indianapolis. Advertisement The game included lots of exciting back-and-forth play between the Eastern Conference's top two teams and plenty of drama including a controversial call that went against the Knicks during a critical juncture in the third quarter. The play happened as Knicks point guard Miles McBride caught a pass near the left sideline. McBride drifted toward the corner for a chance at a much-needed three-point shot and managed to get it off in time before an Indiana defender came flying in for a potential block. It was then that the Knicks' fortunes took a turn for the worse. Advertisement "Deuce McBride did not step out. Refs straight stole 3 from the #Knicks on a fast break," one fan wrote on X with a replay of the call. "Pretty weird that the announcers didn't say (expletive) when they called that out of bounds," another said. "Blatantly obvious that he never stepped out lol," they added. Others question Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau for not challenging the play. "No challenge or nothing is crazy," one said. The comments poured in as the Knicks attempted to mount a fourth quarter comeback on the road in hopes of stealing another one like they did in Game 4. The Knicks trailed by 12 points with just under eight minutes left in Game 6. Ariel Atkins had another stellar game, scoring 26 points for Chicago. Courtney Vandersloot had a well-rounded performance as well, scoring 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven assists. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Chris Jones-Imagn Images 2024 WNBA All-Star Angel Reese also contributed 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists. She was also productive on defense, adding three steals in the win as well. After the game, veteran post player Elizabeth Williams spoke to the media. She talked about Reese's growing ability as a passer and how it has helped the Sky win their last two contests. Advertisement "She's done a good job of having vision, sometimes being a relief for (Courtney Vander)sloot bringing the ball up because she gets pressured a lot," Williams said. "She's done a good job of just seeing where people are open and making good decisions." Reese averaged just 1.9 assists per game during her All-Rookie campaign in 2024, but that number has shot up to 2.8 per contest in 2025. She had five assists in the team's win over the Wings on Thursday, and she added another two on Saturday. HBCU Honored With Exclusive Player Edition Jordan
HBCU Honored With Exclusive Player Edition Jordan originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Jordan Brand has rolled out a truly impressive Player Edition Jordan 4 made specifically for the Bison basketball team. This player edition model represents a few current Nike staples that have performed very well in recent memory. Namely, dark tones of the same color with a white sole and white laces, along with gold trim. The decision to utilize the Jordan 4 would be enough to move the needle, but the colorway treatment applied ensures consumer envy. Advertisement Player Editions are exactly what that implies. A model and colorway made exclusively for players that will not be made available to a wide consumer release. Virtually any PE typically creates a huge demand and an even higher resale value that most any wide release could hope for. View the 9 images of this gallery on the original article Due to such a low volume of pairs that will be circulated within the Howard University program, the Howard Jordan 4 PE could fetch a significant markup down the road when any pairs surface. The design itself needs no real explanation if set within a wide consumer release. The white outsole, white laces, paired with a dark upper that is 3 different shades of navy blue, with gold logos and a specialty 'Howard Bison' gold tag to replace the typical Nike tag sells itself. However, there has been some concern voiced by the Howard University fanbase suggesting the design is more understated than it should've been. Claiming there could have been more done to highlight the culture of Howard University. Advertisement While the two-tone navy blue does fit with the program's logo branding, the absence of red beyond being hidden on the underside of the tongue is noteworthy. Many PE's over the years have had heel logos, tongue logos or even specialty insoles that allow for more freedom with logos and messaging. A logo, whether readily seen or strategically hidden involving some details that are specific to Howard University or HBCUs in general would have been an interesting tribute. This exclusive Howard release has been widely reported as 'Spring 2025' and most likely intended for the 2025-26 College Basketball season.
