Govt will fast-track HAM road network: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy
Hyderabad: State Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has said that the road development projects under HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) would be expedited soon. The minister held a review of the HAM roads and the designs with top officials here on Wednesday.
The meeting attended by Chairman of the State Road Development Corporation Malreddy Ramreddy and Special Secretary to R and B Harichandana Dasari discussed the steps to be taken for the approval of the Cabinet in the meeting organised on Thursday on the road projects to be undertaken under the HAM model.
A total of 5,190 km of roads have been identified in HAM Phase-I. The officials briefed the minister the detailed estimates, implementation procedures, funding methods and other issues related to these. The HAM model aims to improve connectivity between rural and urban areas and to construct quality roads in a short time frame.
Reddy said, 'The HAM will bring a major boost to the development of R&B and Panchayat roads in the state. For people to travel safely, quickly and comfortably, quality roads without potholes are required. These projects have been designed in that direction.' He said that the construction of roads will be done in accordance with the public interest, providing strong connectivity between urban and rural areas and contributing to the growth of the state.

Shares of HG Infra Engineering rose over 5 per cent on Tuesday after securing a ₹117.77 crore order from the Military Engineer Services for the creation of an Integrated Material Handling Facility at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. The civil construction firm's stock rose as much as 5.3 per cent during the day to ₹1,097 per share, the biggest intraday gain since May 12 this year. The stock pared gains to trade 3.8 per cent higher at ₹1,052 apiece, compared to a 1.28 per cent decline in Nifty 50 as of 11:55 AM. Shares of the company have fallen over 11 per cent from their recent highs of ₹1,299, which it hit last month. The counter has fallen 5 per cent this year, compared to a 7 per cent advance in the benchmark Nifty 50. HG Infra has a total market capitalisation of ₹6,845.9 crore, according to BSE data. The project involves the creation of an Integrated Material Handling Facility at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai (ND (MBI)), Maharashtra. The contract, valued at ₹117.77 crore, has been awarded on an item-rate basis and is expected to be executed within 30 months, the statement said. Revenue from operations fell by 20.33 per cent to ₹1,360.89 crore in the quarter ended March 2025, as against ₹1,708.26 crore in the same quarter last year. On the operational front, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebita) fell 28 per cent to ₹239.5 crore, from ₹332.6 crore a year earlier. R&B Min assures to resolve issue of pending contractor bills
Hyderabad: The Minister for Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy assured that he would discuss and resolve pending bills of contractors and work agencies with the Chief Minister and the Deputy CM for expediting pending works across the State. He directed officials to accelerate ongoing construction works under the R&B department, especially those nearing completion and ready for public use. During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Sunday, the Minister reviewed the status of five pending Integrated District Office Complexes (IDOCs) in Adilabad, Warangal, Mulugu, Narayanpet, and Karimnagar. Officials brought the issue of pending bills to the Minister's notice. The Minister instructed that the Warangal and Mulugu IDOCs, which are in the final stages, be completed immediately and made ready for inauguration. Reviewing the pending ROB (Rail Over Bridge) constructions, the Minister specifically asked for the Madhavnagar ROB in Nizamabad to be completed at the earliest. He also instructed officials to focus on ROBs, medical colleges, and TIMS hospitals that are in the final stages of construction. He stressed that the Roads & Buildings department carries major responsibilities and urged officers to prioritise and finish critical infrastructure projects swiftly. 'Better roads enhance transport convenience and act as a key indicator of development,' the Minister noted. Highlighting that Greater Hyderabad sees a daily vehicular movement of over 91 lakh vehicles, he emphasised the need for high-quality road infrastructure in both urban and rural Telangana.

Hyderabad Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has directed officials to accelerate ongoing construction works under the R&B Department, especially those nearing completion and ready for public use. The Minister said that the R&B Department carries major responsibilities and urged officers to prioritise and finish critical infrastructure projects swiftly. Mr. Venkat Reddy reviewed the progress of works taken up by the department with senior officials on Sunday. The Minister inquired about the status of pending Integrated District Office Complexes (IDOCs) in Adilabad, Warangal, Mulugu, Narayanpet and Karimnagar districts. Officials brought to his notice the issue of pending payment of bills. He wanted officials to ensure completion of IDOCs in Warangal and Mulugu, which were in final stages, so that they were kept ready for inauguration. Referring to the rail-over-bridges, he specifically wanted the completion of Madhavnagar ROB in Nizamabad at the earliest. Officials were directed to focus on the construction of medical colleges and TIMS that were in the final stages of completion. Emphasising the need for quality road infrastructure, he cited Greater Hyderabad, which witnessed movement of over 91 lakh vehicles every day calling for the need for high quality road infrastructure in both urban and rural parts of the State. The Minister assured that he would discuss and resolve pending bills of contractors and work agencies with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
