
R&B Min assures to resolve issue of pending contractor bills
During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Sunday, the Minister reviewed the status of five pending Integrated District Office Complexes (IDOCs) in Adilabad, Warangal, Mulugu, Narayanpet, and Karimnagar. Officials brought the issue of pending bills to the Minister's notice. The Minister instructed that the Warangal and Mulugu IDOCs, which are in the final stages, be completed immediately and made ready for inauguration.
Reviewing the pending ROB (Rail Over Bridge) constructions, the Minister specifically asked for the Madhavnagar ROB in Nizamabad to be completed at the earliest. He also instructed officials to focus on ROBs, medical colleges, and TIMS hospitals that are in the final stages of construction.
He stressed that the Roads & Buildings department carries major responsibilities and urged officers to prioritise and finish critical infrastructure projects swiftly. 'Better roads enhance transport convenience and act as a key indicator of development,' the Minister noted.
Highlighting that Greater Hyderabad sees a daily vehicular movement of over 91 lakh vehicles, he emphasised the need for high-quality road infrastructure in both urban and rural Telangana.

Better road connectivity will bring more jobs to rural TG: Komatireddy
Hyderabad: Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday said that quality road connectivity must be the government's top priority, as it holds the key to drawing industries and employment to rural Telangana. Speaking at the Infrastructure & Capital Works Ministers' Committee meeting, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at the State Secretariat, the Minister said that strong road networks from the State capital to district and mandal centres will take industries into villages, creating jobs locally. 'People should feel confident that employment is possible anywhere in Telangana, not just in the capital,' he said. Calling roads 'the first priority for people,' the Minister said that they directly impact public transport, emergency services and perceptions of government efficiency. 'In emergencies, the speed of an ambulance is judged by the quality of roads. That is why the government must not hesitate to spend on this sector,' he remarked. Pushing for rapid execution of road projects under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), Minister Venkat Reddy promised accident-free roads within three years. He also stressed that timely payments to contractors are essential to remove uncertainty in the system and build confidence among stakeholders, while pointing out that, financial mismanagement by the previous government had created hurdles which the present administration is determined to overcome with a people-first approach. The meeting was attended by Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu and Seethakka, along with Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, senior officials and Secretaries of various departments.

CG cabinet clears IT hub in Nava Raipur, approves procurement of pulses under PDS
Raipur: Chhattisgarh cabinet on Tuesday cleared the allocation of 90 acres of land in Nava Raipur at a concessional premium rate to encourage the establishment of IT/IITES industries to attract private sector investment, create fresh employment opportunities, and accelerate state's industrial growth. Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the meeting at Secretariat also approved procurement of pulses for distribution under public distribution scheme. The govt said that the presence of IT companies in Nava Raipur will not only boost the region's technical and economic activities but also contribute to urbanisation and infrastructure development, benefiting local residents through direct and indirect opportunities. The cabinet also approved the procurement of pulses for distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS) in Scheduled area pockets of the state. Families under the antyodaya and priority categories will continue to receive two kg of gram per month, with procurement to be carried out by the state civil supplies corporation through the NeML e-auction platform. The purchase will be made with a transaction/service charge of 0.25% or less for the financial year 2024–25. Additionally, it was decided that beneficiaries who did not receive their entitled quota of gram between July and November 2025 will be provided the pending allocation by December 2025. CM launches scheme to help ex-servicemen start biz
Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday launched Muthalvarin Kaakkum Karangal (CM's Protective Hands) scheme to support livelihood of ex-servicemen and also handed over appointment orders to newly recruited assistant engineers in highways department. At the Secretariat, Stalin handed over sanction orders to 15 ex-servicemen, marking the rollout of assistance to 155 veterans to start businesses. The scheme, announced in his 2024 Independence Day address, has an outlay of 24.43crore. In its first phase, 348 ex-servicemen and their families will benefit, with a total cost of 50.5crore. Under the scheme, veterans can avail bank loans up to 1crore with 30% capital subsidy and 3% interest subsidy. Applications will be screened by district-level committees headed by collectors. Based on their approval, banks will issue provisional sanction orders. Beneficiaries will undergo entrepreneurship training at state's Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute in Chennai, after which final loan sanction will be given. The scheme will later be scaled up to benefit 500 more veterans. State govt currently provides a range of welfare measures for ex-servicemen, including stipend support for children, ex-gratia jobs for dependents of those killed in action, re-employment assistance, and educational reservations. The new scheme, officials said, is intended to ensure sustainable livelihoods for veterans who dedicated their youth to military service. Officials said highways play a crucial role in economic growth, and govt has been investing in strengthening infrastructure while filling vacancies to ensure smooth execution of projects.
