New Delhi [India], August 18 (ANI): On this day in 2018, 10 years after a Delhi-born right-hander Virat Kohli's generation-defining entry to international cricket, another Delhi youngster, Rishabh Pant, stepped up to fulfil the heavy shoes of legendary MS Dhoni as India's premier wicketkeeper-batter and a massive match-winner. After some promising outings in white-ball cricket since his debut in 2017, Pant was handed his debut Test cap during the Test against England at Nottingham. Ishan Kishan to miss Duleep Trophy opener, Akash Deep adviced rest
New Delhi [India], August 18 (ANI): Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will miss out on the Duleep Trophy opener for East Zone as he is currently recovering from a minor injury sustained during his county stint with Nottinghamshire in the the clash starting from November 28, Kishan has been replaced by Odisha's Aashirwad Swain in the East Zone's squad, as per ESPNCricinfo. As per ESPNCricinfo, Kishan's injury required multiple stitches, which is why he was not selected as a replacement for Rishabh Pant ahead of the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval, as the superstar batter was ruled out due to a foot injury.
