At Round House Theatre, an issue play elevated by two D.C. greats

Washington Post09-04-2025

Thank goodness for Holly Twyford and Kate Eastwood Norris. D.C. has been spoiled in recent months with back-to-back double bills starring the long-reigning MVPs of area stages. They were excellent last fall as reluctant friends who slipped into an easy rhythm, then drifted apart, in David Auburn's 'Summer, 1976' at Studio Theatre. Now, they're playing stubborn antagonists facing off at Round House Theatre, on opposing sides of a heated and timely argument.

NYT ‘Connections' Hints For Tuesday, June 10: Clues And Answers For Today's Game

Find the links between the words to win today's game of Connections. Each day's game of NYT Connections goes live at midnight local time. Before we get to today's Connections hints and answers, here are Monday's: Hey there, Connectors! I hope your week is off to a great start. It's official: summer is finally here. Technically, it's 11 days early, but still, I know this to be true. I know it because after months of pain and waiting the pool in my building is finally open. As I write this, I haven't had a chance to dip in yet. But rest assured, I'll be swimming as much as I can over the next few months. I prefer to do so either after immediately after I wrap up work for the day or later at night when it's quiet and no one else is around. It's quite lovely. Anyway, yes, can't wait to get back in there as soon as I have some free time and the air is safe enough (thanks for disrupting my weekend plans, wildfires). Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It's a fun hangout spot, and you're more than welcome to hang out with us. Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don't look at the comments or Twitter much. Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT's website or Games app. You're presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part. There's only one solution for each puzzle, and you'll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them. Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay. Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you're incorrect, you'll lose a life. If you're close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you're one word away from getting it right, but you'll still need to figure out which one to swap. If you make four mistakes, it's game over. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with the help of some hints, and, if you're really struggling, today's Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats. If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication's Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed. Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find our hints Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query. Scroll slowly! Just after the hints for each of today's Connections groups, I'll reveal what the groups are without immediately telling you which words go into them. Today's 16 words are... And the hints for today's Connections groups are: Need some extra help? Be warned: we're starting to get into spoiler territory. Let's take a look at one word for each group. Today's Connections word hints are… Today's Connections groups are... Spoiler alert! Don't scroll any further down the page until you're ready to find out today's Connections answers. This is your final warning! Today's Connections answers are... MEDIATE made the yellows crystal clear, immediately nullifying that JUDGE and JURY red herring. TEXT BOX did the same for the greens (I assume WORD was supposed to be a trap here). Two groups down in no time at all. Because I am a person of a certain age (but still young!), RADICAL shed light on what I assumed were the blues. Naturally, I sent through what I imagined were the purples first. Or at least I tried to, because I accidentally included CHILL instead of HEAVY. Oops. I didn't figure out that connection, but I probably should have. "JURY duty" was probably my entry point there. (I considered using "Call of" in the hint, but that might have made things too easy!) Anyway, I then sent the blues through to wrap things up. I'm not going to explain these ones, because I simply cannot imagine that anyone doesn't use these all the time. I say rad, WORD and CHILL very often. (In case you were wondering, the hint referenced Wicked and Bad.) I should have had a perfect game, but that's still win 105 for my current streak. For the record, here's how I fared: 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟦🟪🟪🟪 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦 That's all there is to it for today's Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for hints and the solution for Wednesday's game if you need them. P.S. I do love a danceable indie pop tune and "Little Bit" by Lykke Li is certainly one of those. I have danced to this one many times, both at home and in clubs. It felt like this was everywhere for a while, and even now, I pretty much never skip it when it comes up on my massive everyday playlist. Such a gem of a song: Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Be kind to yourself and others! Call someone you love! Please follow my blog for more coverage of NYT Connections and other word games, and even some video game news, insights and analysis. It helps me out a lot! Sharing this column with other people who play Connections would be appreciated too. You can also read my weekend editions of this column at my new newsletter, Pastimes.

I shop for a living — trust me when I say these 9 new Lululemon bags will sell out

There's just something about a Lululemon bag — maybe it's the practicality, the trendiness or the way they somehow go with virtually everything. Each one I own has become a staple in my daily rotation. The retailer drops new styles and colours every week (very bad news for my wallet), and I'm always on the lookout for the next must-have. I'm happy to report that this week's new arrivals did not disappoint. Just in time for summer, I browsed all the latest bags, and these 11 instantly made my wish list. However, I'm trying to show some restraint, so I figured I'd share them with you instead. But I suggest acting fast because, as you know, the good ones don't hang around for long. Already know what you're looking for? You can check out the best new arrivals by category: Shop new Lululemon women's styles Shop new Lululemon men's styles Shop new Lululemon accessories Shop new Lululemon bags Lululemon new arrivals: Shop all This roomy tote is utterly chic and, honestly, this is the bag I'm having the hardest time resisting. It's made of a light-coloured canvas, and the chestnut brown trim gives off a "summer in the Hamptons" energy. It comes with a handy removable zippered pouch to keep your small essentials secure. The belt bag we all know and love is available in fun new summer colours. One standout is the "Citra Lime" shade. This vibrant lime green will add the perfect pop of colour to your warm-weather wardrobe and is sure to brighten up any casual outing. Lululemon is clearly having a moment with their canvas pieces — and quite frankly, so am I. I'm loving the elevated, high-end vibe they're leaning into, especially with the addition of gold hardware. This bag also comes with a detachable nano pouch, perfect for keeping earbuds or a bit of cash within reach. It's June — a.k.a. Pride Month — and this carry-all tote immediately caught my eye. It's roomy, casual and perfect for everything from beach days to running errands. What makes it special? It's adorned with Lululemon's "4ever Love" graphic, which is part of their Pride collection celebrating love and inclusion. Whether you're showing your support or just looking for a stylish tote, this one fits the bill either way. Continuing with the Pride collection, the beloved Everywhere Belt Bag is now available in a new pixelated rainbow print. It's a fun, vibrant twist that will literally go with everything, thanks to the full spectrum of colours. As always, it will hold all your essentials, making it the ultimate grab-and-go bag for errands, travel, concerts and everyday duties. How chic is this knit tote bag? I'm not going to lie, I might just have to add this one to my cart. It's spacious and trendy, and it even comes with a little pouch (similar to a designer tote). The knit material gives it a flexible yet substantial feel that'll definitely stand out from the rest of your bag collection. If the knit tote feels a bit too big but you love the look, I have good news for you: a smaller version is available! This one comes with a detachable crossbody strap, so you can go hands-free whenever you want. It's perfectly sized to carry your essentials (and then some), making it a great everyday bag. Now, if you're on the hunt for a versatile backpack that can be used for travelling, the office or school, this Everywhere Backpack is a great contender. Not only is it very roomy, but it also boasts an internal laptop sleeve, side water bottle pockets and a trolley sleeve to make things extra convenient. Here's another Pride collection piece — the bestselling Multi-Pocket Crossbody is available in a fun purple hue with an eye-catching Pride graphic. If you want more colour in your bag collection, this one's for you.
