New Relic has appointed Manivannan Govindan as Senior Director of Enterprise Sales, Asia.
Govindan, who is based in Singapore, will join New Relic's regional leadership team that includes Simon Lee, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan, Rob Newell, Group Vice President of Customer Adoption, and Denis Maguire, Senior Director of Enterprise Sales for Australia and New Zealand. His role will focus on driving strategic growth and ensuring customer success throughout the Asian market.
With more than 25 years of experience in monitoring and observability sales, Govindan has previously held roles at Cisco, Amazon, and CA Technologies. His appointment comes at a time when businesses across Asia Pacific are increasingly seeking observability tools to streamline operations and manage costs associated with cloud technology.
Simon Lee, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan at New Relic, commented on the significance of the Asian market for the company. He said, "Asia is a very promising market for New Relic. There is tremendous growth potential across traditional enterprises looking to modernise, as well as digital natives requiring scale and agility. With extensive experience in the Asian observability market, I couldn't be more excited to have Manivannan join the team and take our Asian business to new heights, while delivering real value for our customers."
Industry research from Gartner indicates a strong trajectory for cloud adoption, with worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services forecast to reach USD $723.4 billion in 2025, up from USD $595.7 billion in 2024. Gartner further predicts that 90% of organisations will adopt a hybrid cloud strategy by 2027, bringing challenges in synchronising data across multiple environments.
The New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform is marketed as a means for businesses to address such challenges, optimising operational efficiency by managing cloud costs and reducing tool proliferation, while enhancing digital experience quality.
New Relic's new Senior Director of Enterprise Sales Asia, Manivannan Govindan, said, "Customers in Asia are rapidly driving digital transformation and adopting multi-cloud and containerised applications, while retaining complex backends in hybrid architectures. New Relic is uniquely positioned to help Asian enterprises achieve visibility across their entire IT estates, ultimately helping them reduce complexity while ensuring the availability and performance of their digital services. I couldn't be more excited to join the team and help demonstrate the power of the New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform."
Govindan's appointment follows a series of recent product and service updates at New Relic. The company has reimagined its Partner Program to encourage business growth within its partner ecosystem, featuring stronger incentives and more accessible certifications as well as enhanced training options.
Recent product enhancements include over 20 new innovations and integrations for the New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform. These enhancements leverage AI-powered insights designed to help businesses improve uptime and business continuity.

Canva leverages Snowflake to scale B2B growth & personalisation

Canva is using Snowflake AI Data Cloud to drive the expansion of its business-to-business operations as it continues its global growth and development. Canva, a platform known for its wide reach in visual communication, is leveraging Snowflake's technology to deliver new features more rapidly, optimise its marketing and sales functions, and customise user experiences. This partnership supports Canva's drive to scale internationally, enabling the company to reach new markets and audiences. The company has grown from a start-up to a business with over 230 million monthly active users and an annualised revenue exceeding USD $3 billion. Canva's enterprise customer base now includes several major corporations, such as Salesforce, HP Inc, and Expedia. The company has consistently relied on Snowflake's scalable platform to process increasing volumes of data and translate user insights into the development of new products. Moe Kiss, Director of Data Science at Canva, commented on the partnership: "As our user base expanded, so did the complexity and volume of data. Snowflake has scaled with us throughout our hypergrowth, helping us make sense of increasing data volumes while keeping our systems efficient. Having a reliable data foundation has been crucial for us to understand the needs of our users and to make informed product decisions as we continue to innovate across our visual communication platform." Erin Foxworthy, Industry Principal, Marketing and Advertising at Snowflake, also highlighted Canva's data strategy: "Canva exemplifies how data can drive extraordinary business growth. By putting user insights at the centre of their decision-making process, they've created a platform that delights hundreds of millions while building a thriving enterprise business. We're proud that Snowflake has been the data foundation supporting their remarkable data and AI journey." Canva utilises Snowflake in several ways to support its enterprise expansion. The company has optimised its sales and marketing efforts, enhancing areas such as lead routing, scoring, and data enrichment. These improvements have been central to Canva's shift from an individual-focused platform to one serving wider enterprise needs, particularly through its Canva Enterprise offering. Ongoing innovation at Canva has also been underpinned by Snowflake's capabilities. The data platform assists Canva in validating development at scale and accelerating the release of new features, such as Canva Sheets, which is described as a visual-first spreadsheet. Information from various sources, including Google Analytics, is handled through Snowflake to offer insights into user behaviour and preferences, supporting the development process. Personalisation is another area in which Canva is using Snowflake. By creating a unified view of user data, Canva can better recognise individual user preferences. This understanding has enabled the introduction of personalisation functionalities, such as AI-driven design recommendations that suggest colours, fonts, and layouts tailored to each user's history and choices. Marketing operations have also seen changes, as Snowflake allows Canva to predict customer lifetime value and improve allocation of marketing expenditure. With access to analytical capabilities, the marketing team can measure campaign effectiveness and distribute resources more effectively across different regions. The company is further enhancing customer segmentation by enriching user data through AI and integrating tools such as OpenAI. This provides more detailed segmentation, enabling Canva to offer more relevant and tailored experiences for its enterprise customers. Canva is currently evaluating Snowflake's Cortex Analyst and other advanced technologies, with the intention of further strengthening its data infrastructure. These tools are set to provide deeper insights, which Canva expects will support the pace of product development and enhance the quality of customer experience. Future plans between Snowflake and Canva include exploration of closer technical integration to allow users to convert Snowflake data into visual content within Canva. The companies indicated that this would further facilitate data-driven storytelling for customers.

Vectra AI named leader in 2025 Gartner report for NDR sector

Vectra AI has been recognised as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Detection and Response (NDR). The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a research methodology and graphical representation that evaluates technology vendors within a specific market, in this instance the emerging field of NDR. Vectra AI was positioned highest for Ability to Execute and furthest for Completeness of Vision in this latest report, marking a significant recognition within the cybersecurity sector. The distinction comes as cybersecurity concerns remain prominent for organisations in Australia, with data from PWC indicating that 67% of Australian organisations have identified cyber risk as their top concern in the coming year. Other issues, including inflation, economic volatility, and geopolitical factors, were ranked as lesser priorities. In response to these concerns, half of the organisations surveyed plan to increase their cybersecurity budgets by at least 6% in 2025. Vectra AI's platform is designed to defend hybrid environments against identity and network-based attacks. According to the company, its AI agents continuously triage, correlate, and prioritise genuine threats in real time, an approach intended to accelerate response and reduce alert fatigue for security professionals. The platform provides coverage across cloud infrastructure, data centres, remote workforces, and operational technology domains, supporting security teams in their efforts to mature their security operations. Hitesh Sheth, Founder and CEO of Vectra AI, commented on Gartner's decision to initiate a Magic Quadrant for NDR. "Gartner's decision to publish a Magic Quadrant for NDR reflects just how essential this market has become in modern cyber defence," said Sheth. He added, "Being recognised as a Leader in this inaugural report reinforces Vectra AI's position at the forefront of this critical space. As organisations grapple with growing complexity, identity-based attacks, and AI-driven threats, the Vectra AI Platform delivers what modern defenders need – coverage that reduces exposure, clarity that cuts through the noise, and control to act with speed and confidence." Vectra AI is also the only vendor in the report to have been named both a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for NDR and a Customer Choice Winner in the 2024 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for NDR. According to Gartner Peer Insights, as of January 2024, Vectra AI holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 96 customer reviews, with 96% indicating they would recommend the platform. This customer feedback has contributed to its positioning in the latest Magic Quadrant report. The increasing complexity of cybersecurity threats, including the speed at which attackers can move laterally across identity, cloud, and network layers, has heightened demand for integrated security solutions. Sector analysts and Vectra AI alike have noted that traditional, siloed security tools can leave organisations vulnerable, driving the need for unified visibility and AI-driven detection capabilities to respond rapidly to threats. The NDR market has grown as organisations seek to supplement existing security strategies with solutions capable of offering greater detection accuracy and more timely responses. Vectra AI's platform aims to provide security teams with the means to detect, hunt, investigate, and respond to attacks spanning the full threat landscape. The company has been acknowledged for its commitment to customer satisfaction, with product performance and support frequently highlighted in customer reviews. Vectra AI maintains a focus on ongoing development to keep pace with the continuously evolving tactics used by threat actors targeting modern networks. The Gartner report recognises vendors that demonstrate both the ability to execute on their strategy and the completeness of their vision in the NDR market. Vectra AI's dual accolades from both analyst and customer perspectives come as cyber defence continues to be prioritised by organisations concerned about the shifting digital threat landscape.
