ITV Lorraine's Ross King in tears as he's confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

Ross King has been confirmed as the 13th celebrity taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, with the likes of Vicky Pattison, George Clarke and Tom Skinner also taking part Scots showbiz legend Ross King was in tears as he was unveiled as the 13th celebrity contestant joining this year's Strictly Come Dancing lineup. ‌ Viewers of the BBC programme will witness Ross, alongside the other famous faces who have already begun training, grace the ballroom floor later this month. ‌ The ITV Lorraine Hollywood correspondent is set to join the ranks of Vicky Pattison, George Clarke, Tom Skinner and Alex Kingston, who were all confirmed during the course of this week. ‌ On Friday's edition of Lorraine, presenter Ranvir Singh had the honour of revealing Ross's participation as they discussed his feelings before his Strictly premiere. The ITV crew erupted in applause as Ross emerged from the dressing room onto the studio set before becoming visibly moved, reports Wales Online. Taking his seat, he remarked: "I'm really emotional, that was so lovely. I can just go back to LA now, that's it, that was the best moment, thank you." Noticing the tears welling in his eyes, Ranvir moved beside him on the sofa to offer support. Ross revealed he had returned to the UK the previous day, and the reality of his BBC programme participation had finally hit home. ‌ When questioned about his motivation for accepting a spot in this year's cast, Ross responded: "There were a couple of reasons, one of which was my dear old mum used to always say, 'You'll never know, until you give it a go'. That was her expression, just do your best, that's all you can do." He explained that seeing some of his friends excel on the American version of the BBC show made him feel inadequate and hesitant about participating due to their impressive performances. ‌ Ross continued: "I certainly don't think I'm good enough to do it now! But, I just thought, you get to a point in your life, and I'm so lucky as well with Lorraine and our lovely boss here, Victoria. "I've been so supported, and it means I can actually do it. Obviously, I'm not leaving the show, I'm coming in." Ross was then treated to some video messages from the team at ITV, including one from Lorraine, who is currently enjoying her summer break. ‌ When questioned about what he's most excited for, the showbiz star added: "Obviously, I'm never going to win! But if I'm the most improved, that's the bar. I've been lucky that I've done musicals, but I don't dance!". Ross will be joining other celebrities such as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Dani Dyer, Alex Kingston, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, George Clarke and La Voix. ‌ Also participating this year are EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Thomas Skinner, Vicky Pattison and Stefan Dennis. Fans have been desperate to see the band bring their new show over to the UK, with a teaser showing the tour's logo emblazoned on the side of the stadium. The band will perform at Wembley on July 10 and 11 2026. But as tickets went on sale today, fans have been left furious at the prices. Taking to X to air their disappointment, one person wrote: 'I am number 79,536 in the que for MCR in london next year and the prices that are quoted are criminal. f*** dynamic pricing.' A second penned: 'Anybody else think they were gonna have enough for tickets only to be devestated by the prices ive never seen mcr live and i would do anything so me and my brother could see them. Let some stroke of luck strike me down with cheaper tickets closer to the date.' A third echoed: 'f*** these ticket prices,' and a fourth wrote: 'Just took a look finally getting through the queue for MCR long live the black parade tickets…. Yeah I like MCR but those prices are insane GTFO!' Someone else commented: 'I'm not okay after seeing those Wembley gig ticket prices.' The rock group, which first formed in 2001, became a genre-defining group in the emo era with their album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge in 2004. My Chemical Romance star Bob Bryar dead aged 44 & 'lay undiscovered for weeks' after 'no one heard from him for 22 days' (1) Their iconic status was then cemented with the multi-platinum selling album, The Black Parade, in 2006 – a concept album that followed a man's journey to the afterlife. The band initially split in 2013, but reformed in 2019 for a string of special shows. They officially returned to the road for a new tour earlier this year. 'Long Live: The Black Parade' celebrates the album's 20th anniversary, and features a grand spectacle where lead singer Gerard is depicted as a fascist-style leader. The band will perform the titular album in its entirety – before following it up with a second set of hits from their other four albums. MCR have released four albums to date – 2001 debut I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love; Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge; The Black Parade and finally, Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys in 2010. But on top of that they have released collections of recordings, Conventional Weapons, as well as bonus tracks and specials on their Greatest Hits album. Since that point, each have gone on to work on other projects, with Gerard notably helping create Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, based on a comic book he created by Gabriel Bá. Rhythm guitarist Frank Iero has been on tour as frontman of a string of other bands, while lead guitarist Ray Toro has released his own solo material and joined other groups for album recordings - including Reggie and The Full Effect and Voltaire. Tickets went on sale at 10am on Friday August 15, and are available here.

Emmerdale's John Sugden makes twisted accusation in a bid to get rid of brother Robert ahead of exit

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) EMMERDALE'S John Sugden has made a twisted accusation against brother Robert in a bid to remove him from the village once and for all. The killer - who is played by actor Oliver Farnworth in the ITV soap - married Robert's ex-husband Aaron Dingle last year despite the obvious connection between the exes. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 2 Robert loses his temper with Harry and terrifies the kid in Emmerdale Credit: ITV 2 John arrives just in time to continue to manipulate Robert into believing he's a danger to Harry Credit: ITV John has been desperate to get rid of Robert since his release from prison, but in a way that keeps his family on side. So unable to send him back to prison for attacking him, John has come up with a new way - and used his nephew Harry for it. In today's episode John encourages Harry to play on his drums in a bid to trigger Robert's PTSD - and it works. Robert loses his temper just in time for John to swoop in and save the day and comfort Harry. The ploy, that then sees Robert convinced that he's a danger to Harry, and subsequently breaks down and decides to leave the village. Actor Ryan Hawley explains: 'John sets up a situation where Robert's left alone with Harry. 'Robert's having difficulty dealing with his his circumstances at the moment, and PTSD, and he's not sleeping very well. 'He's got a kid that, by his own admissions, he's not good at looking after. 'He has him out of necessity, while Victoria goes to work or she has to go help out a friend that's broken an arm or something, and Robert stays with him. 'John encourages him to be disruptive and to kind of trigger Robert, which he does. Robert loses his temper, and John walks in on it and sees it. Shock death rocks Emmerdale as John Sugden takes drastic action 'He uses it as a thing to gaslight Robert, to make it look like he's he's been aggressive. He says that they're all part of him being dangerous and not safe around kids and around Victoria. 'There have been some situations before where Robert's having a nightmare and Victoria comes to go and wake him, and he hits her by accident. 'John adds all that together, and he uses it to paint the picture to basically get rid of Robert. 'He visits and rubs it in his face. It's a real low point at this moment. He's had a fight with John as well, Robert's hit him over the head with a wrench, [like] what happened with Lee all those years ago. Darkest soap storylines Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock... EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca's adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police. Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose. Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap's first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance. Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of 'Richard Hillman' is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it's not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn't. 'It's kind of a low point for Robert in that he's repeating the actions that put him in prison six years ago. John uses the situation to just really rub it in, and Robert loses it. Nuts.' But will Robert leave the village and let John win? Actor Oliver Farnworth will soon leave the soap as The Sun exclusively revealed this week.
