CeeDee Lamb Breaks Silence After Cowboys Star's Trade Request

A year removed from his elongated holdout with the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb has had to sit by and watch one of his teammates go through a similar situation. While he walked away with a sizable extension, it appears things will have a different result this time around.
Over the past few months, Micah Parsons has sought out a new contract with the Cowboys. Talks have been almost non-existent for weeks now, leading to pent-up frustration from the All-Pro linebacker. Now, the iconic organization finds itself with the worst-case scenario on its hands.
On Friday afternoon, Parsons posted a huge message on social media detailing his situation and capped things off by asking the Cowboys for a trade.

Parsons, who the Cowboys drafted 12th overall in 2021, has been a cornerstone piece for Dallas on the defensive side of the field. Along with three top-three finishes in Defensive Player of the Year voting, he's been named to four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams.
Amid their decision to drag out extension talks, the Cowboys now have to come to grips with trading the homegrown star.

As expected, Parsons' post sent shockwaves through the football world. Among those to react was Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. He, like many others, simply wants Dallas to pay Parsons what he's worth.
"Never fails dawg. Just pay the man, what you owe em. No need for the extra curricular," Lamb wrote on X Friday.

Having been on the receiving end of the Cowboys' antics, Lamb has been one of Parsons' biggest supporters through this standoff. Back at the start of training camp, he echoed a similar message of wanting his teammate to land a deal that will keep him in Dallas for the foreseeable future.
"Obviously playing this media game with Jerry is not the best. It's not fun. It's not recommended," Lamb told reporters. "(Micah) knows what he brings to the table. He should get what he deserves. I'm not indulging in any of the craziness that they got going, but I do want Micah to get paid, soon."
Ahead of a season where the Cowboys looked to get back in the hunt in the NFC, things have gone off the rails with one of the roster's top performers.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Aaron Judge is back in the lineup as the designated hitter for the New York Yankees following a 10-day stint on the injured list with a flexor tendon strain in his right elbow. There's still no clarity on when the All-Star slugger will return to the outfield. Judge is batting third in the middle game of a three-game series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. Manager Aaron Boone said Judge is supposed to start a throwing program Wednesday. Boone all but ruled out Judge returning to the outfield as early as the next couple of days. 'I don't want to get ahead of myself,' Boone said. 'See how that first day goes. From there, we'll probably have a better idea after a day or two of that.' Judge didn't speak to reporters in the clubhouse before the game, but Boone said the leading hitter in the majors came away from a trip to the team's spring training facility in Tampa, Florida, ready to swing the bat — and test the capabilities of his arm. 'I think he's been pretty upbeat about it,' Boone said. 'I think down in Tampa, did a lot of things. Didn't throw, but did a lot of things in kind of preparation for that throwing. So far, so good. So hopefully when he does start that throwing program, it goes well and he can progress fairly quickly.' Judge hasn't played since July 25 because of the elbow strain. An MRI showed no acute damage to his ulnar collateral ligament and he had a platelet-rich injection July 27, when he was placed on the IL in a move retroactive to the previous day. The first time Judge said he felt pain in the elbow was July 22 at Toronto, after he made a strong throw home when George Springer singled to right. Judge entered Tuesday night's game hitting .342 and was fourth in the majors with 37 homers and fifth with 85 RBIs. New York's loss in the series opener at Texas was the club's fourth in a row, and the Yankees have fallen to third place in the AL East behind Toronto and Boston. They were in first place to start July, but started Tuesday 5 1/2 games behind the Blue Jays, currently holding a wild-card spot 2 1/2 games behind the Red Sox. 'Hopefully it's the start of something really good,' Boone said of Judge's return. Judge's return was part of a bevy of roster moves, headlined by the Yankees sending reliever Jake Bird to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre just five days after acquiring the right-hander from Colorado before the trade deadline. Bird allowed seven runs — six earned — in two innings over his first three appearances with the Yankees, capped by Josh Jung's three-run homer in the 10th inning of the Rangers' 8-5 victory in the series opener. 'I think he got quite a bit of work there in the first half, a lot of success,' Boone said. 'And he's had some struggles lately. We still think really highly of him and think he's not only going to help us this year in the short term but certainly in the long term, too. So hopefully this is something that does give him that little bit of a reset.' The Yankees put newly acquired outfielder Austin Slater on the IL with a left hamstring strain. Slater, traded by the Chicago White Sox last week, exited in the second inning Monday night after running out a fielder's choice grounder. New York also activated right-hander Mark Leiter Jr., who has been out almost a month with a stress fracture in his leg. Right-hander Yerry de los Santos was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and right-hander JT Brubaker was designated for assignment. Cowboys predicted to trade Micah Parsons for 4 draft picks and a young star from surprise NFC team
If the Dallas Cowboys' bluff doesn't work, the situation with Micah Parsons could deteriorate further. Right now, Parsons has requested a trade, and Jerry Jones has said that's just how negotiations go. The owner better hope he's right, because Parsons is the best young defender in football, and the Cowboys can't really afford to lose him. If a trade does come to fruition, a surprise team could get involved, writes Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report. He predicts the Cowboys could trade Parsons to the Arizona Cardinals. "They could offload promising-but-inconsistent pass-rusher Zaven Collins to give Dallas back some depth while saving $4.4 million in additional cap space." If the Cowboys are giving up Parsons, they have to get a haul that looks at least like this one. Multiple first-round picks are a must, and here, they get two early-round picks beyond firsts. It's certainly something that could give the Cardinals a jolt. They haven't quite gotten over the hump in the Kyler Murray era, but adding Parsons could change that. It's not the classic marquee trade destination that often gets thrown around in such speculation, but that's part of what makes it so intriguing. Could Parsons be a legend in the desert? The Cardinals sure would like to find out. Former Bruins Goalie Calls It A Career
Former Boston Bruins goalie Anton Khudobin has retired from professional hockey. The Dallas Stars confirmed the news in a post on their official X account. Khudobin spent a nice chunk of his NHL career as a member of the Bruins, as he played four years over two stints with the Original Six club from 2011-12 to 2012-13 and 2016-17 to 2017-18. In 62 games as a Bruin, he had a 33-16-9 record, a .914 save percentage, and a 2.50 goals-against average. Overall, he worked very well as a backup goalie while he played for the Bruins. This was especially the case during the 2017-18 campaign, as he had a 16-6-7 record, a 2.56 goals-against average, and a .913 save percentage in 31 games. In 260 career NHL games over 14 seasons split between the Minnesota Wild, Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Stars, and Chicago Blackhawks, Khudobin put together a 114-92-33 record, a .916 save percentage, and a 2.52 goals-against average. Khudobin had his best NHL season with the Stars in 2019-20, as he recorded a 16-8-4 record, a .930 save percentage, and a 2.22 goals-against average. He also thrived for the Stars during their 2020 playoff run, as he had a 14-10 record, a .917 save percentage, and a 2.69 goals-against average in 25 games.
