The far-right political figure Tommy Robinson is believed to have been arrested after he reportedly fled the country following a viral video of him at St Pancras Station next to another man lying unconscious on the floor. British Transport Police [BTP] say they arrested a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire at Luton Airport this evening, having been informed he'd boarded an incoming flight from Faro, Portugal. They confirmed it was "in connection to an assault at St Pancras station on 28 July," reports the Mirror."The man had been wanted for questioning after leaving the country to Tenerife in the early hours of 29 August following the incident at St Pancras," BTP said.
"He was arrested on suspicion of GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm) and will now be taken to custody for questioning."
Footage shared on social media last week appeared to show the far-right political figure - real name Stephen-Yaxley Lennon - speaking to witnesses at St Pancras while a man lay on the floor nearby, apparently unconscious. He could be seen in the video looking agitated and left via an escalator, while saying: "You saw him, he came at me."
A BTS spokeswoman said on July 29 that the suspect in the case flew out of the country in the early hours of that morning. "Detectives are continuing to work closely to progress the investigation and bring him into custody for questioning," she said.

"I was worried, very worried, I thought I was being stitched up." The far-right activist then spoke out regarding the incident at St Pancras. He said: "And then in the end I had to defend myself - that's exactly what the footage shows. Officers discovered a man with serious injuries who was transported to hospital. Police confirmed last week the man injured in the alleged assault had been discharged from hospital. A video was posted on social media which showed Robinson near a man lying on the ground, who appeared to be unresponsive. Robinson claimed the man had attacked him in the footage before leaving the country shortly after. Yesterday, stunned passengers watched on as an aircraft was surrounded by British Transport Police officers. Cops were waiting for the far-right activist after he left the country following an alleged assault at St Pancras Station last week. Speaking on X, today Robinson claimed it was a "planned trip" and he had notified the police when he was coming back. The EDL co-founder walked off the plane wearing a blue top, denim shorts and a black cap. He was met by two female officers at the bottom of the stairs at a runway at Luton Airport. The 42-year-old was led into a police van stationed on the tarmac, surrounded by six cops. A source who was on the plane from Portugal spoke to The Sun and revealed what happened when Robinson was arrested. "I was going to the toilet and I noticed he was sitting down on our flight," they said. 'I knew he was wanted for the attack [at St Pancras], so I had an idea of what was going to play out when we landed. 'Not many people knew who he was on board - so other passengers were shocked to see police officers waiting outside for him. They must have known he was coming back. 'There were two police vans waiting outside for him - and when he walked to the front of the plane, there were officers waiting at the doors. 'As soon as he came down the stairs he was grabbed by an officer - there were about four or five officers around him, and he was quickly escorted into a police van.'
