IndiGo Pune-Hyderabad flight diverted to Vijayawada due to heavy air traffic: Sources

New Delhi [India], June 29 (ANI): An IndiGo flight from Pune to Hyderabad was diverted to Vijayawada on Sunday due to heavy air traffic in Hyderabad airspace, according to sources.
Sources said that the flight (6E-6473) had departed from Pune Airport at 8:43 AM on Sunday and was en route to Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
It later landed at Hyderabad airport at 12:38 PM, they added.
Earlier, Air India flight AI357, operating from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Delhi, was diverted to make an unscheduled landing in Kolkata on Sunday as a precautionary measure following elevated cabin temperatures during the journey.
According to an official statement from the airline, the flight landed safely and is currently being inspected.
'Air India flight AI357, operating from Haneda to Delhi on 29 June 2025, made a precautionary diversion to Kolkata due to persistent warm temperatures experienced in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely in Kolkata and is currently undergoing checks,' said the Air India spokesperson.
The airline further said, 'Our ground colleagues in Kolkata are providing all necessary support to passengers to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen diversion. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly our passengers to Delhi at the earliest. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers.' (ANI)

He said the union had built an effective communication campaign around the issue, creating a public perception of unfairness. An average passenger, not familiar with common industry practice, could think, ''I'm waiting to board the plane and there's a flight attendant helping me, but they're technically not being paid for that work,'' he said, speaking before the strike began. 'That's a very good issue to highlight,' Gomez further said, adding that gains made by Air Canada employees could impact other carriers. Air Canada detailed its latest offer in a Thursday statement, specifying that under the terms, a senior flight attendant would on average make CAN$87,000 ($65,000) by 2027. CUPE has described Air Canada's offers as 'below inflation (and) below market value.' New Delhi [India], August 16 (ANI): In line with vision to encourage use of technology and enhance 'Ease of Living' for the citizens, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has successfully implemented the 'FASTag Annual Pass' facility from Independence Day at about 1,150 Toll Plazas on National Highways and Expressways across the Annual Pass has received an overwhelming response from the National Highway users. Till 7 pm on the first day of implementation, around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass and around 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded on toll plazas, according to a statement from the Ministry of Road Transport and 20,000 – 25,000 concurrent users are using 'Rajmargyatra App' at any point of time and annual pass users are receiving SMS messages for zero deduction of toll officials and Nodal officers have been appointed on each toll plaza to ensure a smooth travel experience for the pass users. NHAI said it is addressing queries of the pass users through various channels. Also, to address the grievances of pass users, 1033 National Highway Helpline has been further strengthened with the addition of over 100 a seamless and economical travel option to the National Highway users, the FASTag Annual Pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge FASTag through a one-time fee payment of Rs 3,000 for one year's validity or 200 toll plaza crossings, the ministry's statement noted. The FASTag Annual Pass is applicable for all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and gets activated within two hours of the one-time fee payment through the 'Rajmargyatra App' or the NHAI website. With a penetration rate of around 98 per cent and over eight crore users, FASTag has revolutionised the Electronic Toll Collection system in the country. 'The introduction of the Annual Pass facility will not only enhance the FASTag user experience but will also make journeys on the National Highways & Expressways more economical and seamless," the ministry said in its report. TN pushes for larger aircraft on key routes in the state
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Industries Minister T R B Rajaa on Friday urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to press IndiGo to deploy Airbus A320 aircraft on intra-state routes between Chennai-Thoothukudi and Chennai-Tiruchy. In a post on X, Rajaa said every IndiGo flight on these sectors operates at full capacity, yet passengers are confined to smaller ATR planes, which he described as 'horrendous' and unsuitable for a state that plays a key role in the country's economy. 'These ATRs may suffice for tier-three connectivity, but TN hosts a large volume of business travellers who endure uncomfortable, hot and crowded flights,' he said. Poor air-conditioning, turbulence-prone aircraft, and hard landings have prompted frequent flyers to avoid these services altogether, he added. 'Opening swanky new airports is futile if larger, more stable aircraft are deliberately kept out,' the minister noted. Rajaa termed the practice 'gross negligence and wanton disregard' for travellers, particularly given the high fares, and urged centre and IndiGo to address the issue.
