Premier League giants likely to end pursuit of Real Madrid star to explore other targets
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League giants are preparing to go all-in for Isak once the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich is completed.
The Colombian winger's move is reportedly agreed upon, even if it has not been officially announced yet.
Isak, currently playing for Newcastle United, is said to be very interested in the Liverpool switch.
What makes the move even more likely is that the Swedish striker is not negotiating with any Saudi Arabian clubs, as his sights are firmly set on a future at Anfield.
Rodrygo committed to Real Madrid
For months, Rodrygo's name has been linked to Liverpool as a potential Diaz replacement. English media outlets even reported early contact between the Merseyside club and Rodrygo's representatives.

At 24, the Brazilian remains one of the players most likely to leave Real Madrid this summer, but so far, no official offers have landed on the club's table.
While Real Madrid await concrete developments, Rodrygo's stance remains unchanged.
Despite growing speculation and Xabi Alonso's lack of trust in him, something that became clear during the Club World Cup, Rodrygo is committed to seeing out his contract, which runs until 2028.
For now, it seems Liverpool may be heading in a different direction, with Isak now emerging as the top candidate. The next few days could bring major updates as Liverpool finalise Diaz's exit and look to bring in a high-profile replacement.
Whether that ends up being Rodrygo or Isak will depend on how negotiations unfold, but at this stage, the Swedish forward looks like the frontrunner.

She might have made some adjustments to her game, but Sunday's goal proved that even with those changes, she's still the exact same force on the field. Unbelievable Copa final delivers Rodman's return may have been the NWSL story of the weekend, but Saturday's Copa América Femenina championship was the match of the summer — an iconic display of the best of South American women's football. After a relentless 120 minutes and seven rounds of penalty kicks, Brazil overcame Colombia to lift its ninth Copa América title, sealing their place once again as the best team on the continent. Girona on verge of selling leftback Miguel Gutierrez to Napoli originally appeared on The Sporting News With Girona's La Liga season kicking off just over 10 days away, the Spanish club may still be sorting out its opening day lineup as Miguel Gutierrez is drawing significant interest from Italian side Napoli. In fact, the two parties are in advanced discussions, and a resolution may come as early as this week before each club begins its respective league duties. According to insider Fabricio Romano, Napoli is interested in adding the Girona stalwart to its backline– to the tune of 18 million Euros. Now, that fee appears rather nominal as Gutierrez has operated as a mainstay at leftback for Girona over the past three seasons, amassing 91 starts during that timeframe. At 24-years old, Gutierrez registered one goal and five assists last season across his nearly 2,500 minutes played. One season prior, Gutierrez offered nine goal contributions (two goals and seven assists) as he cemented himself as a productive, pace-laden defender for Girona. Before joining Girona, Gutierrez was a member of Real Madrid for three seasons, though he sparingly saw the field during that time. Now, selling Gutierrez would certainly generate additional funds for Girona to bolster its squad in other areas, but it would be a risky move for a team that already conceded 61 goals a year ago, good for third-most in all of La Liga. Girona will open its La Liga campaign against Rayo Vellanco on Friday, Aug. 15. Thomas Partey: Ex-Arsenal player charged with rape to appear in court today
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is due to appear in court today, charged with raping two women. The 32-year-old, who was charged four days after leaving the north London club when his contract expired back in June, faces five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He is accused of two counts of rape against one woman and three counts against another. The sexual assault allegation relates to a third woman, the Crown Prosecution Service has said. The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022. The Metropolitan Police said it first received reports of an allegation of rape in February 2022. Partey's lawyer Jenny Wiltshire has previously said the Ghanaian "denies all the charges against him" - and looks forward to the chance to "finally clear his name". Partey made 35 appearances for the Gunners last season, scoring four goals. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
