The Riverhounds' Highmark home sits on the riverbank and has been dubbed the "most beautiful ever".
According to KDKA TV, Pittsburgh are ready for an expansion that will see their capacity growing from 5,500 to over 15,000.
That could raise the USL Championship team's chances of one day moving up to the proposed USL Division One.
If plans for the new division go through then the Hounds would be playing in the highest level of the United States league system, alongside Major League Soccer.
The Riverhounds' plans could also lead to some immense revenue for the club.
That is because they would be able to host between eight to 12 concerts per year.
The Riverhounds' fans are ecstatic with the news and celebrated on social media.
One supporter tweeted: "This is incredible. Great field. Will be an awesome venue for concerts with that view."

Jack Draper's partner turns air blue as duo blow chance of $1m US Open mixed doubles jackpot
Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula stormed their way through to the US Open mixed doubles semi-finals but Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud proved too much for them as they beat them in a tie break Jack Draper 's mixed doubles partner Jessica Pegula apologised to the British star after her mistake in the US Open semi-finals cost the pair a chance of winning the $1million jackpot at Flushing Meadows. Draper and Pegula had impressed at the Grand Slam against top quality opponents after seeing off Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu in straight sets before another emphatic 4-1, 4-1 win over Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva. And against two more superstars in Iga Swiatek - who is ranked second in the world - and Casper Ruud, things started positively as they won the first set 5-3. But Swiatek and Ruud fired back by winning the second set 5-3 as the match went to a tiebreak - which Draper and Pegula found themselves ahead for too. The pairing were 8-4 up in the tiebreak that went to 10, before losing six points in a row to allow their opponents to reach the final and dump them out in the process. That miserable spell saw Pegula opting to volley a Swiatek forehand, which allowed the Wimbledon champion to smash home the winner, despite Draper being in a good position to return the ball. It was a clear mistake and American star Pegula looked mortified after the match as she sat down with Draper and appeared to say: "F***, I'm sorry." She later told the media after the match: "I feel more sad, honestly, than after a singles match in a way. I feel like I kind of let him down a little bit. "But besides that, I really wanted to play another match. I had so much fun. Like, we got along really well. I was hoping we could get to the finish line there." But Draper refused to let his partner take the blame as he insisted Pegula "carried him through" during the first set, in which he claimed he was "poor". "I mean, let me clear that up, by the way," Draper replied. "She said she let me down. Absolutely not. The first set, you completely carried me through. That set, I was poor and you were amazing, so… "We're a team. It was a lot of fun. We had a lot of funny things said in between the points. Yeah, it was good. Pumping each other up, as well." It came after Pegula gave Draper a telling of earlier in the tournament for claiming the mixed doubles was "an exhibition format". She later apologised for "scolding" him in a press conference.

Alun Wyn Jones and Jiffy to make rugby returns as Mike Ruddock takes on different role
Alun Wyn Jones and Jiffy to make rugby returns as Mike Ruddock takes on different role Five British & Irish Lions and more than 20 international or regional players will be playing Alun Wyn Jones (Image: 2023 Getty Images) Alun Wyn Jones and Jonathan 'Jiffy' Davies are among the big names that will be lacing up their boots and stepping back on to the rugby field this weekend as part of a star-studded event in Swansea. The Jimmy Crackers' Sevens tournament at Mumbles RFC has been running for over 30 years but is back bigger and better than ever for 2025, with an exciting new competition introduced. An action-packed weekend will kick-off with the Mumbles 1st XV taking on Gorseinon, with junior fixtures - from U5s through to youth teams - being held on the Saturday. However, in a new addition to the event, an Over-35s touch rugby tournament will be held on the Saturday evening, featuring over 150 players, including five British & Irish Lions and more than 20 international or regional players. Among them is former Wales captain Jones, who retired from rugby in 2023 having become the most-capped international player in the history of the sport, with 170 overall. Meanwhile, Jiffy will also be getting stuck in, just a week after completing his latest Cancer 50 Challenge, which saw him cycle between Cardiff and Swansea to raise money for Velindre and the Swansea Bay Health Charity. You can see the best photos from that event here. Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel, former Ireland international Jared Payne and Tonga lock Sam Lousi are also taking part, alongside Aled Jenkins and Richie Pugh. Article continues below The event will also see former Wales head coach Mike Ruddock take on a very different role, with the 65-year-old and his band set to entertain the crowds with music. Mike Ruddock (Image: Dave Winter/Icon Sport via Getty Images) Sunday will then see the main event - The Jimmy Cracker's Sevens - play out, with eight men's teams, eight women's teams and 12 mixed touch teams set to be involved. Davies said: "It's great to see Crackers back this year! "The introduction of the new over 35 Vets touch tournament will really enhance the weekend. It's great to see so many local boys playing and supporting Mumbles RFC." Scarlets coach and former Lions player Payne added: "Since moving to live in Mumbles it's clear to see that the rugby community is thriving. Article continues below "As a club one of the calendar events is the notorious Cracker 7's, with the addition of the Vets touch competition this year linking up with local businesses it really adds to the weekend and is now a full weekend of rugby." Former Wales international Pugh said: "It's really special to be back at the Mumbles Cracker Sevens. I first played here when I was 17, and now with the vets touch I can lace my boots up again. "What makes it even better is seeing my kids playing during the day and being part of the same tournament I grew up with. It's brilliant to see so many local companies getting behind the event and to have some fantastic players back out on the field."

Anthony Joshua's future becomes clear after Jake Paul fight snub
Anthony Joshua has been left without an opponent after Jake Paul snubbed the British heavyweight to face Gervonta Davis in his next fight, with his return now confirmed Anthony Joshua is set to make his comeback early next year after the British heavyweight was snubbed by Jake Paul. The 'Problem Child' made his return to action in June, defeating former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Keen to remain busy, the American has recently confirmed his next bout - but it won't be against Joshua. Despite repeatedly challenging the Brit over recent months, Paul will now face lightweight king Gervonta Davis instead. The duo are set to clash on November 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Numerous boxing enthusiasts were left shocked, especially after a bout between Paul and Joshua appeared destined for early next year. Paul was so eager to share the ring with the heavyweight sensation that he was prepared to accept just a ONE PER CENT share of the purse. With Joshua now lacking an opponent, his promoter Eddie Hearn has disclosed his star fighter is targeting a comeback next year, whilst also sharing his views on Joshua's future. Speaking to FightHype, when questioned whether he had spoken to the British boxer since the Paul announcement, he responded: "No. He was quite chilled about the whole thing anyway," reports All Out Fighting. "He is kind of like that guy that just says 'look, just phone me when it is done.' And, until it is done, I do not think a lot of it. I do not know if it is real or not, but whatever. We were talking about a fight in February or March. We knew that Jake Paul might fight November. I did not expect it to be Gervonta (Davis)." Hearn anticipates Joshua will return to action in January or February, explaining: "I do not know how it affects us in terms of would we do the fight. The issue is, we are not going to wait until November. I won't speak on his behalf like that, but I doubt we commit to the fight until the Tank fight is over. We are not going to wait until November to make our move. So it is very likely that AJ will fight January, February, now probably against someone else." Whilst Hearn believes Joshua will proceed with an alternative opponent, Paul subsequently suggested he remains focused on the British heavyweight after responding to the bout announcement. The 'Problem Child' declared he will "kill David," then "slaughter Goliath" - possibly indicating he's targeting a 2026 showdown with the former two-time heavyweight world champion. In a post shared on X - previously known as Twitter, he wrote: "His nickname might be Tank, but I'm an FPV drone and I'm about to disable tiny boy. Yes, he's one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anyplace, against all odds. And I like my odds. First, I am going to kill David, then I will go on to slaughter Goliath." When will Anthony Joshua fight next? Joshua is currently recuperating from elbow surgery, with his promoter anticipating his return to the ring early next year. Hearn recently disclosed that 'AJ' is now eager to move forward with his career after repeatedly chasing a match with Tyson Fury, although he still harbours hopes of eventually squaring off with the 'Gypsy King' before retiring. Hearn spoke to Sky Sports about Joshua's future plans, stating: "Yeah, good, he had that operation recently... that elbow surgery, which went very well. You will see him return in October, November or December." A rematch with Daniel Dubois could be in the pipeline after the Brit's manager - Sam Jones - expressed enthusiasm for a second face-off with 'AJ', saying: "The rematch with AJ is always there. I'm a big AJ fan - I've made no secret of that. "He's a proud man, and I know he won't want to keep seeing that knockout by Daniel on his screen. I'm sure he'll want to right that wrong. And if he ever wants to, then let's get it on. It's all about what's best for Daniel now - WBO, IBF, WBC. He belongs at the top table in heavyweight boxing. He's an elite-level heavyweight. All those names you mentioned - Daniel will be back in the mix."
