Why Clay Aiken Says He'll Need to Be 'Sedated' Amid 16-Year-Old Son's Career Plans
Clay Aiken's 16-year-old son, Parker, is getting closer and closer to realizing his dream of becoming a pilot, and that has the American Idol finalist feeling, quite literally, queasy.
Speaking to People ahead of the re-release of his debut single, "Measure of a Man," Aiken explains he's not all that ecstatic about Parker, as part of his pilot training, getting on a plane and flying solo across the state.
Aiken, who shares Parker with his longtime friend, Jaymes Foster (the sister of famed producer and composer David Foster), says it was one thing to see his 16-year-old son hop on a plane solo taking laps around the airport.
'He just went and did his first solo flight two weeks ago, so a big milestone there,' he tells People. 'Now we're planning on the next one, which I'll need even more Xanax for.'
And the next one involves Parker flying solo across the state, which is proving to be too much for Aiken to handle.
'I'm not going to be able to see the plane,' Aiken says. 'You're gonna have to sedate me. Just call an anesthesiologist because I don't have the nerves for that.'
Parker is apparently a very driven young man. Aiken, a 2003 runner-up to Ruben Studdard on season 2 of American Idol, shares that his son has always known he wanted to be a pilot.
'He's known what he wants to do for, gosh, his whole life,' Aiken says. 'It was a little weird to me because I didn't know what I wanted to do — I still don't.'
Good luck, Parker!

The pair share daughter Ensley and went on to separate in 2019 before getting back together in 2020. In 2024, Evans confirmed that she had officially split from Eason. She shared a TikTok and publicly announced the news with a video in which she shared, "I filed for separation." She later posted another video explaining that she had to file for separation in the state of North Carolina before filing for divorce. Evans had previously stood by her estranged husband over the years amid legal trouble. In May 2019, the influencer temporarily lost custody of her two younger children after Eason shot and killed their family dog for biting their then-2-year-old daughter in the face. That July, the reality star confirmed to PEOPLE she had regained custody of her son and daughter. In November 2021, Eason also had a run-in with the law when he was caught driving with a revoked license and being in possession of an open container. Read the original article on People

Tom Daley speaks out about his father's death as he admits he 'didn't know who to turn to'
Tom Daley "didn't know who to turn to" when his dad died. The 31-year-old Olympian lost his father, Robert, to a brain tumour more than a decade ago, but he is sure that his dad is still "supporting" him with everything as he goes on in his life and career. He told People: "When he was gone from my life, I didn't really know who to turn to or who to talk to about lots of things. "There wasn't really anyone that would bring it out of me, because my dad was always someone who kind of knew exactly what I was thinking and how I was feeling and knew how to fix it. "He supports me all the way, and if I didn't have his support system, I wouldn't be here now 'cause I wouldn't want to carry on." Tom has sons Robbie, six, as well as two-year-old Phoenix with his husband Dustin Lance Black, and recently admitted that losing his dad was one of the "most difficult" things he has ever had to go through but still takes inspiration from his dad when it comes to his parenting style. He said: "I model lots of my parenting and lots of the things that I do every day around what I learned from my dad. He my biggest cheerleader. He was there for every training session, every competition, and he was a huge part of my life, day in, day out. "Losing him was one of the most difficult things that I ever had to deal with." Yet I was dealing with that in a very public way in the U.K. Looking back on all of that footage was quite challenging to watch because I felt really sorry for the younger Tom that I kind of was just carrying on and putting on a brave face, and I didn't ever want to bother anyone with how I was feeling because I didn't want to ever make anyone else feel uncomfortable." Tom has discussed his life and career at length in the new documentary, Tom Daley: 1.6 Seconds' but admitted that he initially had reservations about speaking about such personal things on camera. He said: "I wasn't sure about doing it initially. You know what? This is something that I would love to be able to then show my kids in the future and be able to be like, 'Look, this is what Papa did. This is the thing that Papa was doing day in, day out' And the things that I did, and be able to get to know the relationship I had with my dad and all of that stuff."

Inside Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Relationship Rumors: Fact Vs. Fiction
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are fielding reports that claim there is tension in their relationship, following the release of Katy's album "143" and her current Lifetimes Tour. Katy's recent breakup comment during a Sydney show intensified speculation that she and Orlando are going through a turbulent time. The headlines vary in severity, with People reporting that the stress stems from Katy's frustration over the reception of her new album and tour – though recent concert reviews have been positive and Lifetimes' Australian leg is completely sold out. Page Six, meanwhile, has the most extreme assertion about Katy and Orlando's status, with a source telling the outlet that the pair is waiting to split until the tour is over. When Access Hollywood's Kit Hoover sat down with Katy in January, however, there were nothing but positive vibes. Katy's team had no comment when contacted by Access, and Orlando's reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
