Konkona said that she "had the best kind of nepotism in a way". 'Today, I realise it was a dream to work with my mother. In terms of nepotism, which is such a hot topic now, yes, I have had the best kind of nepotism in a way. I have had so much privilege and so much luck that it wasn't that I wanted to become an actor. I didn't. My mother had no plans to launch me,' she said.

She also talked about working in the film Mr and Mrs Iyer. She added, 'My mother was writing Mr And Mrs Iyer on her desktop, and it used to be in my room. She would read it aloud to me, and it was all from my expressions that she felt I should play this part. A lot of the time, I don't get dragged into this nepotism. Do I think it is unfair? Yes, it is unfair, but it happens everywhere. I would always like to acknowledge my luck and privilege in this situation that I got to do Mr and Mrs Iyer as my third film.'
Directed by Aparna Sen, Mr and Mrs Iyer is a 2002 film starring Konkona and Rahul Bose. Konkona and Aparna have also worked together in Titli, 15 Park Avenue and Iti Mrinalini among others.

Konkona made her film debut with Ek Je Aachhe Kanya (2001). Since then, she has starred in many films such as Titli, Amu, Page 3, Omkara, Life in a Metro, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Wake Up Sid, Iti Mrinalini, Talvar, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Ajeeb Daastaans and Kuttey, among many others.
Konkona was last seen in Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino which released in theatres on July 4. The film also features Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. Backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, the film offers an emotionally layered take on modern relationships.

The film still remains memorable for its portrayal of love, loss and family, resonating with audiences even today. Reflecting on her time in the film, Anusha had shared a touching note, expressing gratitude for the experience. Sarzameen director Kayoze Irani reveals he cut Kajol's role based on suggestions from the Indian Army: ‘For sensitivity reasons…'
Kajol, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest film Sarzameen, which released on JioHotstar on 25th July, has not been well received. While the film has gotten bad reviews, many have also been upset over Kajol's limited screen time in the film. Recently, in a conversation with Zoom, Kayoze Iranoi revealed that he had to cut out a crucial chunk from Kajol's character in the film. There was a flashback sequence that explained her character arc, which had to be dropped from the final cut. Kayoze revealed that the deletion of this part was deliberate after they got feedback from the Indian Army. He said that her scenes were cut not due to time constraints but because they wanted to be secured by the Indian Army. He had shown the film to them and also shared the script in order to get their permission for the release. And it was due to 'sensitivity reasons' that Kajol's part was removed. Kayoze also recalled how, when he had shown the rough edit to the Indian Army while in Delhi, they had strongly reacted to it. They sat with the team for 35 to 40 minutes, suggesting how the screenplay could be improvised and nuances could be gotten right. One strong requirement from them was that the story 'be faithful to the men in uniform.' Earlier in a conversation with SCREEN, Kajol had spoken about her character in Sarzameen and said, 'In this film, I took a toll on my knees because Kayoze insisted that for every shot I had to start crying and keep falling on my knees. I got irritated with him, every scene I couldn't keep falling just because it was written in the script, eventually I was like, what kind of a character is she that she keeps falling to her knees every five minutes.' Sarzameen marks Kayoze Irani's directorial debut and is Ibrahim Ali Khan's second film after Naadaniyaan.

New Delhi: Suniel Shetty landed in trouble over his controversial remarks recently. Not once, but twice. Suniel Shetty, in a recent interview, revealed that his daughter Athiya keeps a close watch over his comments and often scolds him for triggering controversies. What's Happening During a recent conversation with Zoom, Suniel said, "I avoid controversial questions during promotional activities. I'm the kind of person who sometimes wants to answer, and then I mess up. And then I have Athiya at home saying, 'Papa, why did you talk? Just say no comment!' She keeps reminding me not to say anything that could get us into trouble the next day. She tracks all my interviews, and honestly, that's the only person I fear. The best thing for a man to have is a baby girl in his life." Suniel Shetty received flak as he said Athiya chose natural delivery over C-section, implying her strength. During a conversation with News 18, Suniel said, "In a world where everybody wants the comfort of having a caesarean baby, she chose not to do that and had a natural delivery. I remember how every nurse and paediatrician in the hospital said that it's unbelievable how she went through the whole process. That hit me as a father. I was like, 'Wow, she's ready!' Athiya was very, very strong to do that." Athiya and husband KL Rahul became parents to a baby daughter Evaarah Vipula Rahul in March, 2025. Later, Suniel apologised for his comment. In another controversial statement, Suniel defined the traditional roles assigned to men and women, re-iterating gender stereotypes. He told Pinkvilla, "Marriage after a while becomes a compromise where you have to understand each other. Then a child comes into the picture, and the wife needs to understand that if the husband is building his career, she will need to take care of the child. Of course, the husband will also be involved. But these days, there is just too much pressure in everything." On the work front, Suniel Shetty will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, alongside Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi.
