Scattered Showers and Storms Tuesday in Maryland

Scattered Showers and Storms Tuesday in Maryland

CBS News3 days ago

We woke up on Tuesday to some fog like on Monday but it wasn't as dense across the area. Patchy fog remains this morning before clearing.
Southern Maryland and the Eastern Shore are under a level 1 (of 5) risk for severe weather today. We're expecting spotty storms to develop across parts of the state and we could see one or two of those storms strengthen later today. Stronger thunderstorms could bring gusty winds and potential downpours.
Some Maryland neighborhoods stay on the drier side today.
In addition to the isolated storm chance today, we may also notice a difference in humidity. It was a steamy start to the day however comfort levels will increase as we go toward the later part of the day.
Highs on Tuesday reach the upper 70s to mid-80s.
Warmer air moves in for the rest of the work week. We'll see more in the way of 80s and some low 90s for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
As of now, it still looks like Father's Day weekend brings another round of potential showers and storms to Maryland.

Pinpoint Weather Forecast: June 12, 2025

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — On Thursday in Bakersfield, we saw a high of 93°, which is 2° above the usual 91°. The record for this day was set back in 1979 at a scorching 110°. It seems Kern County is in for a warm weekend ahead, with temperatures staying in the upper 90's for Father's Day. Temperatures are expected to remain in the double digits at least until next Wednesday, before a brief warm-up and the introduction of triple digits sets in. Expect another cool down, with low 90's on top for next weekend. Pretty sick conditions will persist across our mountains and deer slopes due to a zonal flow pattern, with winds coming in from west to east. Air quality will be moderate tomorrow for the region. Nice weather Friday; Rain to start Saturday

We've got a beautiful day on the way Friday, with partly to mostly sunny skies, and some high thin cirrus clouds filtering during the afternoon. Temperatures are a little cooler than as of late, only climbing into the middle and upper 60s, about 5 to 10 degrees below average. As we move towards midnight Saturday morning, a few showers will being to work in from the west. That precipitation becomes more widespread as daybreak approaches. Rainfall totals range between a quarter and a half an inch for most, and we're drying out by Saturday afternoon, although likely holding on to a lot of clouds. The Father's Day forecast is improving, as high pressure move in from the northwest. Right now I'm thinking skies will be partly sunny with a few spotty afternoon showers. Temperatures for both weekend days climb to the upper 60s and lower 70s! Have a great night! -Skytracker Chief Meteorologist Haley Bouley Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
