Hoda Kotb sparks frenzied speculation that she reunited with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman after gushing tribute
Hoda Kotb has ignited frenzied speculation that she has reunited with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman after she posted a sweet tribute to him on Father's Day.
In a heartfelt upload, the former Today show co-anchor, 60, heaped praise on the financier, with whom she shares adopted daughters Haley, nine, and Hope, five.
Taking to social media on Monday, Hoda uploaded two sweet photos, one of which saw the two little girls hugging dad Joel.
Another snap showed the dad-of-two walking hand in hand with on of their daughters while on a shopping trip.
'A great father's day for a great dad!' Hoda captioned her Instagram post. 'Happy father's day Joel!'
In the comments, some speculated whether Hoda and Joel might have rekindled their relationship.
'Are they back together?' asked one.
'He sure is a great dad!' another said. 'How I wish you were still with Joel!'
A third wrote: 'She is on and off with this guy.'
Others, however, praised the former couple for coparenting their kids harmoniously.
'Those two girls are blessed to have such loving and involved parents,' said one.
'Aww, love seeing Joel! Happy Father's Day!' another said.
'He's a great dad!' exclaimed a third. 'Wish you guys were still together.'
A fourth praised: 'You both are rocking this co-parenting gig.'
DailyMail.com has reached out to Hoda for comment.
While Hoda and Joel are no longer in a romantic relationship, they continue to co-parent their two girls and are often together during holiday celebrations, such as Christmas Day and Thanksgiving.
New wellness guru Hoda was previously in an eight-year relationship with New York financier Joel, but the couple decided to part ways at the beginning of 2022.
They had begun their relationship in 2013 and in November 2019, Hoda announced live on Today that they were engaged.
In January 31, 2022, however, she revealed on Today with Hoda & Jenna that she and Joel had decided to end their engagement and would focus on co-parenting as friends.
'Joel and I have had a lot of prayer and meaningful conversations over the holidays and we decided that we are better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple,' the talk show host said at the time.
'So, we decided we are going to start this new year on our new path as loving parents to our adorably delightful children and as friends.
'It's not like something happened. They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, a season or a lifetime, this was for a season.'
Last month, Hoda revealed her youngest daughter Hope has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, two years after she was rushed to hospital.
Returning to the Today show, she opened up about her daughter's diagnosis for the first time to Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin and explained that she's 'constantly monitoring' her child.
'Hope is fine for most of the day. There are just moments where you have to watch her,' she explained.
'I was totaling it up — five minutes at breakfast, five minutes at lunch, five minutes at dinner, sometimes overnight. Add that up, that's a half-hour. So, for 23 and a half hours, she's every other kid, so I try to remember that.'
While spending more time with her daughters was the main reason she left the Today show, Hope's condition 'definitely weighed in' on her exit.
'As anyone with a child who has Type 1 (knows), especially a little kid, you're constantly watching, you're constantly monitoring, you're constantly checking, which is what I did all the time when I was [at Today],' she said.
'You're distracted. You just get a priority check in your life.
'I can be here and sweating what's happening to Hope in the morning and in the night, or I can be there and feel relief that I can see.'
Hope's health issues began over two years ago. In February 2023, Hoda took two weeks off from the Today show due to a 'family health matter,' she shared at the time.
She later revealed that her youngest daughter had been hospitalized due to a sudden, unspecified illness.
Hope, who was four at the time, spent several days in the intensive care unit and a little over a week in the hospital.
Speaking to Savannah on the show at the time, Hoda said: 'My youngest Hope was in the ICU for a few days and then the hospital for a little more than a week.
'I'm so grateful she is home, she is back home. I was waiting for that day to come. And we are watching her closely. I'm just so happy.'

Hollywood star makes thinly veiled dig at Dakota Johnson whining over Madame Web
One year ago, Russell Crowe called out Dakota Johnson by name for bad-mouthing her superhero box office bomb Madame Web, and now another movie star has made a thinly-veiled dig at her. Rachel Brosnahan - who plays Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot - doesn't understand 'why people say yes' to these sort of projects 'only to then turn around and complain about it.' 'Look, I don't want to s*** on other actors,' the 34-year-old Marvelous Mrs. Maisel alum vented to Amanda Seyfried via Interview on Monday. 'But there was a minute where it was cool to not like superhero movies and to look back on projects like this and pooh-pooh them. Do it or don't do it, and then stand by it.' Seyfried replied: 'I honestly don't think you should call it a superhero movie ever again, because it isn't just that, and I think people are going to see that. It's really important to have this kind superhero, this guy who's just trying to do his best.' The 35-year-old nepo baby of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith took on the role of clairvoyant paramedic Cassandra Webb in S. J. Clarkson's movie from Sony's Spider-Man Universe, which only earned $100.5M back from its $100M budget. Madame Web also had a dismal 11% critic approval rating (out of 265 reviews) and a 53% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 'I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again because I don't make sense in that world. And I know that now,' Dakota scoffed to Bustle last year. 'But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it's one thing and then as you're making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you're like, '"Wait, what?"' Three months after Johnson's comments, Russell Crowe - who acted in Man of Steel and Thor: Love and Thunder - felt the urge to respond. 'You're telling me you signed up for a Marvel movie, and some f***ing universe for cartoon characters … and you didn't get enough pathos?' the 61-year-old Oscar winner told British GQ. 'These are jobs. Here's your role, play the role. If you're expecting this to be some kind of life-changing event, I just think you're here for the wrong reasons.' Earlier this month, the Materialists actress - who claimed the script went through 'drastic changes' - blamed Madame Web's poor performance on the fact that 'creative decisions are made by committee' and declared: 'It wasn't my fault.' 'Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body. And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way,' Dakota told the Los Angeles Times. 'Unfortunately, with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time.' Seyfried replied: 'I honestly don't think you should call it a superhero movie ever again, because it isn't just that, and I think people are going to see that. It's really important to have this kind superhero, this guy who's just trying to do his best' (pictured June 2) Madame Web also had a dismal 11% critic approval rating (out of 265 reviews) and a 53% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes Dakota scoffed to Bustle last year: 'I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again because I don't make sense in that world. And I know that now. But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it's one thing and then as you're making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you're like, '"Wait, what?"' Three months after Johnson's comments, Russell Crowe - who acted in Man of Steel and Thor: Love and Thunder (pictured) - responded in British GQ, 'You're telling me you signed up for a Marvel movie, and some f***ing universe for cartoon characters and you didn't get enough pathos?' Johnson shaded the film, yet again, during last Thursday's webisode of Hot Ones after host Sean Evans told her he was 'no superhero' and she wisecracked: 'I am also not a superhero. Tried, failed.' Other celebs who've starred in superhero fare then publicly criticized the genre include Thor: Love and Thunder alum Christian Bale, Thor alum Anthony Hopkins, The Amazing Spider-Man alum Sally Field, Moon Knight alum Ethan Hawke, Blade alum Stephen Dorff, and Iron Man 2 alum Mickey Rourke. Meanwhile, Rachel couldn't be more thrilled to showcase her take on the pretty Daily Planet reporter previously portrayed by Amy Adams, Kate Bosworth, Erica Durance, Teri Hatcher, Margot Kidder, and Phyllis Coates. 'I've never done something that has a baked-in fan base already,' Brosnahan said. 'People have such strong feelings about [Superman] and the world and whoever's in charge of it. It's cool to be a part of something that people are so passionate about. It's definitely intimidating, too.' The Emmy winner teased some sort of special stunt she got to perform on the set: 'I got to do a different thing, which I'm not really allowed to talk about, that didn't involve wires but felt like maybe it should have. It was nuts!' James Gunn's $225M-budget reboot of Superman - hitting US theaters July 11 - also stars David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, and Isabela Merced. Rachel's other upcoming projects include the second season of Apple TV+ thriller Presumed Innocent, Bernard Rose's King Lear adaptation Lear Rex for Dali Films, and Halina Reijn's small-screen adaptation of Lisa Taddeo's 2019 novel Lois & Varga for Amazon Studios. On the personal front, Brosnahan and husband Jason Ralph just celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on June 6.

Jordon Hudson takes sly shot at Bill Belichick's ex Linda Holliday after bitter Christmas Party spat
Jordon Hudson has taken a sly jab at her boyfriend Bill Belichick 's ex partner, Linda Holliday, in a sentimental Instagram post, where she name-drops 'Nantucket Socialites'. Hudson's post was primarily about Melissa Sapini, the 2024 Miss Massachusetts, a title she won while over Belichick's 49-years-younger girlfriend competed for Miss Maine. The duo met during their time on the pageant circuit. Sapini relinquished her title this week to this year's winner, with Hudson paying tribute to her friend's time on top on Tuesday. The long, sappy post included the jab at Holliday near the bottom, after Hudson gave Sapini tons of shout-outs. 'I know you will keep shining, metamorphosing and taking up space; even when others threaten you and insist that you don't belong, e.g. the "Nantucket Socialites"' Hudson said. Hudon's jab is in reference to an incident where Holliday did not like Hudson and Sapini coming to a certain Nantucket Christmas party late last year. Holliday angrily confronted Hudson and threatened Sapini, seemingly confirming the already public rundown of events. According to an incident report filed by an employee at the party's venue, Dreamland, Holliday was enraged by Hudson's presence at the December 6 event. Holliday's twin daughters - Ashley and Kat Hess - were DJing at the party. Belichick, 73, and Holliday, 61, broke up in September 2023 after 16 years together. He met Hudson on a flight from Boston to Florida in 2021. The incident report says Holliday thought Hudson being there was 'inappropriate, since the event was widely advertised as a party headlined by her daughters.' The report claims that at 9:30pm, Holliday approached the member of staff and asked her to remove Hudson, 24, from the party. While on the phone with the venue's executive director to discuss removing Hudson, staff spotted Holliday and friend Elin Hilderbrand - believed to be the New York Times bestselling author - approach Hudson on the dance floor with 'threatening body language and escalating aggression'. But as the employee approached the dance floor, Holliday and her friends - which also included Heather Thorpe - decided to back away. 'I asked Ms. Hudson if she thought it was a good idea to be there considering the clear animosity the above individuals felt towards her,' the employee wrote in the report. 'She defended herself by saying she'd done nothing wrong, and it was her first time attending Christmas Stroll and wanted to attend the "big party" going on that night, which happened to be the one featuring the Hess Twins.' 'She said she was not looking to cause any problems, but just wanted to go out and have fun with her friend.' When realizing there were only a few minutes left of the party, Hudson is said to have agreed to leave if the employee accompanied them to the exit. As they waited by the exit, Hudson supposedly then told the employee that Holliday threatened Sapini during the clash on the dance floor. It was claimed Holliday told Hudson's friend that if she 'valued her current title, she should think twice about who her friends are' and that she 'had many powerful friends in the pageant organization.' The report says Sapini didn't speak but broke down in tears in the room and was 'wiping her eyes frequently'. After leaving Hudson and Sapini by the exit, the employee returned to find Holliday who said: 'If this didn't involve my girls, I don't think this would have bothered me as much, but because it did the "momma bear" in me came out.' Dreamland told TMZ that, despite the tense altercation, police and security were never involved.
